a little word on the infantilization of asian men

please read this. even if it offends you, if you're not asian, you need to read this.

I've seen my fair share of posts on TikTok, Instagram, and, yes, Tumblr about BTS's health issues. Obviously, four of the members have had COVID recently, and one of the members recently underwent minor surgery.

You guys need to stop babying them whenever they get sick.. It disgusts me every time I see a new batch of people talking about them like they are children. And it's almost always non-asians. Because you guys don't understand the impact of what you're saying. U DONT SEE THIS HAPPEN TO WHITE CELEBRITIES! Asian men are so over fetishized and infantilized. Acting possessive, obsessed, and like they can't take care of themselves is more harmful to our community than you think. By a LOT. And look, if you disagree with me, that's fine. But I've lived in Korea for most of my life, and after nine years in the US, I'm moving back. It is no joke how much whites and non-asians as a whole baby kpop stars.

It's more harmful than you think it is. If you're not asian, I need you to trust me on this. Especially if you haven't lived in both worlds -- Western and Asian. We don't like it when you treat us like babies, I promise.

Of course it's ok to be worried. But we have to remember

They are not babies. They are grown men. Their lives are not in danger. THEY ARE NOT DEAD!

Don't stop worrying or sending prayers. But do stop acting like they're children who need you to.
