The writer's block is so real right now. I have the final chapter of my Perciver fic half-written and the angsty penultimate chapter of my Jegulus A/B/O AU fic half written and for some reason I just can't get myself to really commit to either of them :(

'Baby.'

The voice is instantly soothing, but it's the strong arms wrapping around his waist that truly has Regulus melting. He lets himself lean back against the broad, muscular chest that he knows so well, lets his eyes flutter closed as a gentle kiss is pressed to his temple. Right over the dull ache that he hadn't even registered until this exact moment.

'When did you last take a break?'

The voice is careful enough that he knows what James is asking. When did you last eat something? When was your last glass of water? When did you last take off your binder?

He doesn't want to answer, but the press of his boyfriend's chin against his shoulder is insistant, so Regulus sighs and puts the phone down on the kitchen counter before turning in James' arms. He finds hazel eyes that are so filled with concern that Regulus is melting all over again.

'Probably about eight hours ago.' He hadn't even meant to answer, but the words fall from his lips anyway, and James' dark brow furrows further.

'Baby -'

'I know, Jamie,' he murmurs, stretching up on his tiptoes to press a chaste kiss to his boyfriend's lips. 'I'm going. Can you make me a sandwich, please?'

James brightens instantly, squeezing Regulus' hips before bustling off towards the fridge. Regulus smiles softly at his retreating back, and turns to head upstairs, but then he pauses, his hand already reaching out automatically. He really does just need to check -

'Leave the phone, Reg.'
