usually after a bad day at school, he takes his robots and rampages through the city to let his feelings out and clear his mind. sometimes instead of using his robots, he just cries in his room alone

then one day, during one of his battles with wordgirl, after she demolishes his robots, he just gives up and breaks down. concerned, wordgirl asks if he’s okay and he starts venting to her about school and his bullies, because he’s been bottling it up for so long.

wordgirl, or in this case becky, is surprised because she never would’ve guessed that tobey was being bullied at school.
