Headcanon dump - Ludwig

Age - 23

MBTI - ENTJ-T

His birthday is on december 16th

He most likely has Autism Spectrum Disorder - struggles to get along with others, has a few interests he's incredibly good in. His angry outbursts are actually meltdowns

He stims by walking around in circles, talking to himself, having that one song on repeat. Very subtle, but noticeable to people who are neurodivergent or live around autistics

He is sensory sensitive, which makes him extremely picky about how he's working, what he eats, and the texture of his clothing, which makes him really good at spotting counterfeit.

His special interests are art history, his piano, and magic history

He's the most powerful koopaling, whose magic proficiency challenges Kamek himself

Because of that, his weapon of choice is usually just his wand, however he does have a rapier and other "support", you can't just disarm him by stealing his wand

He doesn't have a speciality, if you'd ask him he'd tell you he's better at the history of magic than magic itself, just like any autistic person trying to convince you that they're not amazing at their special interest

The reason Koopalings have mixed feelings about calling Ludwig the clan leader are his social shortcomings. They worry that he may slip up on this, or that, and stain the reputation of the whole clan. Thankfully, as they grow, they realise that he needs them regardless, just as much as they need him. Both sides can ensure the other thrives.

His fashion sense is classic romantic goth, always wearing his fancy military coat and probably being the only Koopaling who wears the royal badge correctly

Speaking of his coat, he is a half parakoopa, hiding his wings behind it. The reason he reassigned himself from Pipeland to Skyland is the need to perfect his flying, or maybe something else (oc x canon warning lol)

His absolutely favorite season is winter, sitting at home to do his things, able to layer. Though the amount of holidays is kind of overwhelming, so maybe fall..

he's shorter than Roy, Morton and Iggy because of inheriting the parakoopa genes. Parakoopas are naturally smaller and more agile to use their wings the best as they can

He loves coffee, probably it's his only only safe food he can have in any way

He can't stand modern technology. If there's something that can be done manually, he'll use a typewriter, one of the tons of books he has, his room could easily pass for the 19th century reconstruction if we exclude the modern books. If he can't do it his way he either uses magic or asks Iggy if all the options involve it in some way.

Why does he hate it if his childhood self looved tinkering? Easy, 'Kooky' also hated modern technology and wanted to make his own

He's surprisingly the closest to Larry, a polar opposite to him. They mirror the need for approval, the youngest koopaling struggling to get any due to lack of skill, while the oldest struggles to take breaks in fear of becoming weak. Being around each other helps them find the healthy balance.

Considering he's a clan leader of the assassin group directly under Bowser and a renowned pianist, he is a workaholic, balancing his passions with his profession which often overwhelms him.

He can't stand physical touch, ESPECIALLY WITH HIS HAIR. This is the reason Kooky's hair was so messy, he would get a meltdown each time Bowser tried to detangle it. He may have few people he trusts like Larry or Roy, but it's an exception from the rule.

He's like a parental figure to the koopaling clan, though sometimes he may act more childish than them, which causes a ton of "I told you so"'s

He's the first koopaling to openly state his surname, Von. Koopas usually say their names in " name - surname - koopa" order, but other koopalings felt it was too obnoxious or were worried that by having the same surname as Bowser they'd get in trouble. Another I told you so, they were his nephews all along.

I've always been scared of OC x Canon.

I always feared that the comfort character I had paired up with may not get along with the OC, and I remember when I made her back in 2017-18 (!) I was deeply insecure and sour about it on deviantart. Sorry to any other ocxcanon peeps I've offended!

So, with my hyperfixation around Koopalings which had resurfaced lately, I want to introduce you to this little girly.

I'm so sorry for the eyestrain, I literally made this in fricking PAINT when I was THIRTEEN.

Her name is Elizabeth. She is a princess of Skyland and an oc x canon for Ludwig Von Koopa, because haha, für Elise.

Here are more current doodles of her, but I'm struggling with a consistent style.

So here's the backstory: She is the daughter of Emperor Ed (super mario show reference) and Rosalina. Raised in a heavily prejudiced high society without a mom, she always struggled to fit in, making her suspiciously open minded.

She's quiet, undiagnosed autistic, loves art of all kinds. Her meeting and falling for Ludwig was a matter of when, rather than if. She does her best to suppress it as she works for Princess Peach, but her heart has a mind of its' own. She kept up her duties despite her heart screaming at her, aching at each maneuver to hurt the koopaling clan.

Ludwig finds her endearing because he can't stand the high society, the nobles and royal meetings, and she is the complete opposite of it. Not flashy, not holding the status quo. Not scared of bickering with him over the most pointless arguments, not being "normal" or "refined".

The moment she opened up about her feelings is when she discovered that Ludwig is a half parakoopa, making an already crushing princess absolutely enamored. With reciprocation!

She's the first princess from the toad castles (grassland, desertland, etc.) to openly speak against princess Peach and change sides. Moreover, she's the reason Ludwig ditched Pipeland to target Skyland instead. Just so the two can meet again..

Her biggest flaw is being impulsive, going with the flow. She often does things first and regrets them later. But getting into this relationship was and never will be a mistake. She doesn't give a shaite if others will look at her, a paratoad dating one of the most influential darklanders around, anymore. Being around Ludwig had influenced her to stand her ground, and Ludwig is influenced by her to let his guard down and be vulnerable.

Alas, The emperor's best friend, Ludwig's biological father Mortimer Koopa Sr., had found a way to stay around Skyland, in the form of his son.

Headcanon dump - Roy

Birthday: April 23rd

alignment: chaotic good

Backstory:

his infamous sunglasses are a hand me down from his late mother, he started wearing them when he got bullied for his heterochromia

He got inspired to get strong from watching several action films and wrestling

he's the most thug looking of the clan, Morton may be strong but he isn't quite as intimidating

He developed bullying as a method of coping with his insecurities - the "gay" shell, weird sunglasses from his mom, having alopecia. Nobody had listened to him when he was well behaved, so he learned that aggression would help

Personality:

He's street smart, but not so book smart or close the fridge or it will melt smart. He has good practical knowledge but he's not often listened to, leading up to many "i told you so bruh!"

He cares about the vulnerable, that was his main motivation in becoming the Roy we know today. He doesn't want the things that have happened to him to happen to others, though he may get too aggresive

He's the second most social koopaling, after Larry

He does a lot of things for the fun of it - but unlike Lemmy he respects boundaries

he's a natural party guy - his mere presence seems to manifest friends

he hates lying, and refuses to partake in missions that force him to forge friendships. But he's totally cool with killing!

He looves bullying others, poking fun at them, criticizing them, striving them to get better. His remarks may be unfiltered and hurtful, but he has your best intentions

Surprisingly he's very easy going, happy to do almost anything his siblings blab about. As long as he can show he's the best one, that's all that matters! Painting claws, playing video games, picking up music samples for Larry - everything is a competition, and he's intending to win

Interests/clan role

he's the executive of the Koopaling clan. His best suit is dirty work, crime, assassinations, theft, etc. If it involves wrecking shit and not talking, he's the first to line up!

His weapon of choice are his fists, but unfortunately life would be too beautiful if everything could be solved with a well aimed hit in the face. So technically speaking he doesn't have a weapon of choice, using whatever he has laying around. He once used a fridge, I'm dead serious that he'll use ANYTHING for combat

His magic specialization are weapons of all kinds. He's the most combative of the clan, and his magic reflects it

His weakness is his do first think later approach. He usually needs someone more intellectual paired up with him to correctly direct his raw strength. Too bad his best friend is Morton!

He enjoys anything gang or mafia or yakuza relates. Treats his affiliation with the Koopaling clan as his "gang", although he's banned from calling them that.

He also loves motorcycles and tinkering with them/other vehicles.

Usually he's the one piloting the airships, because he's the only one who actually enjoys sitting for two hours with a completely clear sky

Relationships

His absolute ride or die is Morton. He's young enough for Roy to act like a cool big brother™, while also not being "whiny" like Larry or Junior.

Morton suffers from Broca's aphasia, a disorder where he's capable of thinking normally, but struggles with actually speaking properly. Roy acts like a translator for him, the two having such a close bond that they can understand each other without words.

He's the most critical of Ludwig, the self-proclaimed clan leader. Before Ludwig had hit puberty properly, Roy was actually the one who was doing the leading. However, it's not that he doesn't like him - quite the opposite, he can feel that Ludwig is shutting down his emotions and that his work ethic more resembles an addiction rather than a normal ambitious person and simply is worried

He struggles to get along with Lemmy, vary of his behavior, especially after the poker incidents. He helps set the boundaries against him, being one of few that Lemmy actually respects.

He's also close to Wendy - his only sister. As he grows more comfortable with his alternative fashion sense, he's one of few who understands how it's like to live looking "weird" (Wendy has alopecia, Roy has heterochromia)

He sometimes acts like a babysitter towards Larry, trying to put off some of the load Ludwig has

He also likes being around Iggy, teaching him to defend himself or how to survive social outings. Besides, they both love chain chomps

Appearance

he's the second most buff clan member, after Morton. And he's proud, not jealous!

He wears the royal emblem as a bandana around one of his arms

He often wears bandanas on his head for sun protection as he targets Desertland

He's the second tallest, after Iggy

He wears motorcycle gloves, adjusted for his claws

If he's constantly on missions, he may get a tan. However it is not permanent because koopas shed like any other reptile, which he's disappointed in

his fashion sense resembles an amalgamation of all the action and mafia movies he had watched, with grunge influences. Very cool very badass (/lh)

He's the most confident koopaling, unlike Lemmy and Ludwig he doesn't have to pretend, which is visible in both his stature and body language

He only ever takes off his sunglasses when he completely trusts someone

his blue-brown eyes represent that he gets along with all of his siblings to some degree. He's more reasonable of the group, and even if he has some problems with others he still can enjoy their company, not afraid of setting boundaries whenever needed.
