My first solo exhibition in Japan was held earlier this year at Marienkäfer in Harajuku💕
The never-ending fae struggle
i don’t like being perceived but i do love being adored
So because I'm not a fucking coward I decided to make my own version, but for real
I'd never done bookbinding before so I had to follow a tutorial and get the materials, but coincidentally we were doing a sketchbook project for Uni, so that was the perfect excuse and in the end that's what I decided my cover would be
Obviously I also did the page binding by hand which was fun
I had to do some size editing on the spine since my sketchbook was not going to be so big, but I made it so let's not worry about that part So I cut the boards out using the tutorial to figure out my spacing and printed the cover out on an A3 page to glue it on
Glued the edges down with some artist's tape and then tested it with the signatures
Once that was done I glued everything else down and let it dry till the next morning and it was done
I now possess power beyond my understanding

Just woke up from a nap and dreamt they were making a third Finding Nemo movie, but in this one Dory was having a baby and people were making memes because she found the absolute sweetest and hottest blue tang husband so my feed was just full of memes of "The bad bitch I pulled by being silly" and thirst trap edits of Dory's husband

Physically pains me to work on bigger pieces because my nut sized brain hates stuff that takes longer than a day (but I think miss dead merm over here will be worth it)

Bookbinding.
I am just so deeply in awe of the history of books and how they were made throughout. It's such an interesting thing to just learn about because I'd always loved books, but I had never given the process of creating one just ANY thought. I'm fascinated.
...Brb gonna stock up on material so I can bind books of my own.
