Wolvember 2021
Hey guys! Sorry I didn’t have time to set up anything for wolvember this year, I was going to work with Lore Clan to release something, but seeing as Wolvden released their first monthly event, it’s been decided that there would be too much going on for yet another event. However, keep an eye out next year as I’d like to work on something huge for it!
I have decided that I will be releasing montly questions/prompts. Nothing too huge, just an opportunity to share the lore you’ve been working on or just write something new (like a normal prompt!).
So, with that said, here’s my question/prompt for this month:
How has Wolvden’s event impacted your pack? If it hasn’t, what’s happening in your lore currently?
For me, my onsite pack is way ahead of my written lore. So currently I’ve introduced elemental wolves with the arrival of Petrichor, the nbw with smoke eye and black wings that I claimed. She is a minor god and can call storms, although if she uses any of her powers it renders her unconscious for days, which is a side effect of having a mortal body. Also with her arrival, pups have started being born with elemental powers. Pluto and Zinnia being the first two. Pluto’s title is “Frost-Caller” and Zinnia’s title is “Sand-Shifter”. I haven’t decided the extent of their powers yet, and as they’re still pups there’s plenty of time to develop it.
One day, Selena returned not pregnant, but with a companion.
His pelt was spattered with blue, with faded white cloudy markings. His eyes were the color of ice, and, oddly enough, were warm as they regarded Deca.
He exposed his neck in a gesture of submission, his ears flat and his tail relaxed. “Alpha,” he greeted. “My name is Moonbeam. Selena told me I might find a life here.”
Deca’s ears twitched. A life? He bit back a sigh, glancing at Selena. She was staring at him defiantly, daring him to turn away a wolf in need in front of the pack.
“You may stay here, however you will shadow one of our own to learn the ways of the pack. They will be your partner, and they will report to me on your progress. If there are any issues, I reserve the right to deny your entry and you must leave our territory.”
“Yes, Alpha,” Moonbeam murmured.
Deca swept his gaze around his pack, which had slowly gathered to watch the stranger. “Sebastian! Moonbeam here will be under your care so that he may learn our pack. If any issues arise, I trust you to report to me.” He hoped that by trusting his old friend with something this important, it might remedy their friendship a bit.
The brown wolf blinked in susprise, before his sour demeanor uplifted into something happier. His tail wagged in relief. “Yes, Deca!” he barked.
Thank the Great Lupus. It worked. Maybe he could take Selim and Sebastian out on a hunt later, like they used to as trainees. He ached to have his friends back, and almost cursed Remus for making him alpha. The responsibilities were costing him his family.
“Deca, we need to talk.”
He turned to see Selena, who already looked impatient. Deca almost snorted in amusement, she always wanted to get things done right now, and would leave you behind if you couldn’t keep up. It’s been that way since they were pups, and she excelled in her herbalist training. In fact, she was almost promoted before she was an adult, but Remus insisted she practiced hunting more. That was an area where she lacked, and Remus believed in everyone getting at least basic training in everything, just in case of an exceptionally harsh winter.
“What’s up?” Deca sat down, giving his full attention to his friend.
She leaned in close, and when she spoke her voice was low. “Moonbeam is a demigod; the son of an immortal father and mortal mother.” She spoke quickly, and when she noticed Deca open his mouth and widen his eyes in alarm, she continued. “Don’t worry, he’s not a danger to anyone. As far as I know, he didn’t inherit any powers. If he did, they’re extremely weak. The only thing he has is an enhanced lifespan and accelerated healing.”
“What the hell, Selena? I could tolerate your pups, with their odd powers. Don’t think I didn’t notice, because it’s quite obvious to anyone with even half a brain! But an entire demigod? If word gets out it will completely tear apart my pack. Remus charged me with keeping it safe, and you are ruining everything.”
His voice got sharper and angrier with every word, and in that moment, he hated Selena. He was trying his hardest to be an alpha that Remus and his parents could be proud of, and everything was slowly falling apart. His mate, Kyra, was actively against Selena and her family. His puphood best friends hated him, and the only wolves that he could fully trust were at death’s door.
The blue coated wolf was silent, so he continued.
“Anything else you want to throw at me?” he snarled.
Selena flinched, almost cowering under his glare. “I suppose it’s time I’m fully honest with you. I’m also a demigod, and I have a mission here. My mother has tasked me with guiding your pack to more prosperous days. It is not my fault if your wolves can’t handle it. That’s your job. The gods trust that you and I working together can lead this pack to greatness. They like you, and they want you to be the best you can be.”
Deca didn’t know how to feel. He was angry at Selena. For lying to him, for being right. He was angry at himself, for being a bad alpha. For not nurturing his friendships. For not embracing this new part of his pack’s history, for being stuck in the past.
“I need to clear my head,” he mumbled. He stood, his legs strong with the rage coursing through him. Striding out of camp, he ignored his packmates calling his name and giving him curious looks.
Out in the forest, he broke into a sprint. He knew his territory like the back of his paw, and he turned inward to his thoughts and let memory guide him.
I don’t know what to do.
I’m scared.
This is it, it’s over.
I have to announce this to my pack. I may very well lose everyone, but I need to be honest.
Oh gods, I have no idea what I’m doing.
Oops just realized I never showed off Selena and her gorgeous pups!

Selena

Anubis “Lunar-Touched”

Nephthys “Lunar-Seen”

Horus “Lunar-Dusted”
(Gotta write this little tidbit because it really adds to Selena’s mysteriousness!)
Sometimes she’d disappear, normally in the middle of the night. She’d come back early morning, her mate, Smoke, waiting for her. They’d speak in hushed voices, retreating to their den.
It was truly peculiar, the way Selena would come back with a belly heavy with pups.
Deca thought to ask her about it and called her into his den one night. He was the alpha, after all, and he should know what was going on in his pack.
So, his best friend lay in his den, gently licking the fur on her swollen belly. She was pregnant for the third time. Her first litter only one male pup survived. He was named Anubis, and he was...something else. He barely spoke, hardly even spent time with anyone. Deca didn’t mind, he was nice enough. They spoke occasionally about his scouting missions and the leader had come to realize he was very observant and intelligent. He wished the young wolf had more friends, though. Anubis seemed deeply sad.
Selena’s second litter only had two pups. Nephthys and Horus. They were bright, outgoing pups. Although, Nephthys unnerved Deca. She was always staring off at nothing. Even when they were speaking, she didn’t truly look at him. Her gaze pierced into his soul and he felt that she saw everything. His past, his present, his future. The very fabric of his being.
Horus, her brother, was normal. He dreamed of being an asset to his pack, hunting majestic elk. He was quieter than his sister, who always had something to say, but when he got excited about something he wouldn’t stop talking.
Deca sighed, unsure how to word what he had to say. He settled for a simple question. “Where do you go at night?”
Selena stared at him for a moment, an almost amused look on her face. “The lunar plane.”
“Why?”
She chuckled, giving Deca a look that said are you sure you want to know this? “There are...special wolves in the plane. Demigods. Their offspring inherits their power, but only a fraction of it.”
He should’ve known that with the existence of gods there would be other supernatural things, but it didn’t take the shock out of it. Selena wanted these not-wolves to father her pups? Why? For the power? He supposed there was something appealing about having extra special pups, not that he would want any. He would much rather prefer his normal pups with Kyra, his mate.
“So...,” he struggled with the words. “You’re only gone one night. How are you that far along already?”
“Time passes differently in the lunar plane.”
He waited, expecting her to continue, but she didn’t. It almost seemed as if she was hiding something, leaving out certain information. He decided not to press her, acknowledging that maybe there were some things he shouldn’t know. For now, at least.
“Thank you, Selena. I appreciate your honesty.”
She nodded, standing to leave. As she walked out of his den, Deca could’ve sworn that he saw a slight blue glow on her stomach, and blue dust shook free from her pelt with every step.
He had the feeling that Selena was not what she said.

So I recently claimed this Realgar (t3) gal! She is currently up for trade here
She has grey Inuit unders and silver tail tip! I know the trade says 500 gc, but I would accept 400 instead.
The Next Chapter

(The image, as well as the accompanying text, that I will be putting in my den to indicate the new “chapter” of the Lily-Pine pack.)
Deca may be the official leader of the pack, but everyone knows that Selena pulls the strings. She’s always there, whispering in his ear, her eyes glowing that strange blue. Despite her admittance of being different, some members of the pack think there’s something else. Underneath her “prophet” persona, there is something very, very wrong.
Lore updates & editing services
so i will NOT be writing any more lore until I replace Remus, because right now it’s just sorta boring and I’m not really into it right now.
However, I will be doing other things. Right now, I’m working towards a career as an editor, so if anybody wants me to edit things for them I can. I’ll post prices and such at the end of this post. (NOTE: This is something I’m doing to get more experience, I do not currently have a degree nor have I taken classes.)
Secondly, if anyone is interested in the images that I made for my wolves, I can make some for you! I’m going to mess around with different shapes and designs as well, so they’re not as boring as they are right now. (Yes, these will be free)
Editing Rates: Bios or short descriptions: $3 Anything 3+ pages: $4 per page Payment can be sent via Venmo or Cashapp.
The editing will be mostly proofreading (checking for grammar, clarity, run on sentences, etc.). Payment will be half upfront and the rest once I’m finished.
Also, I can write wolf bios for Wolvden currency. Depending on the length, it will cost about 50sc (min) - 2gc (max). I will also accept other methods of payment, feel free to ask!

I will NEVER get over how pretty wolvden is
Egret

Pupsitter
Born to Unnamed mother and Unnamed father
Egret was born to a seaside pack that had an unusual obsession with shiny things. The pack itself was very laid back, content with their current way of living. However, their neighboring packs described them as “lazy” and “a disgrace to wolf-kind”.
Egret is the oldest of a litter of 6 pups. She grew up leading them into trouble and adventure, but also took care of them more so than her own mother did. Her mother and father had more litters after hers, and she gladly took them under her wing as well.
She gained the attention of most of the single males in her pack, and she had her fun. However, she quickly grew bored of the day-to-day life and left to explore the world.
Her charismatic and friendly nature caused her to meet many wolves and other creatures. One of these wolves happened to be Remus, and when he offered her a place in his pack (which, he admitted rather shamefully, was not much of a pack, as it was only him and Marisol) she agreed.
While Egret didn’t get along with Marisol at first, she quickly settled in. She had a basic knowledge of herbs and made herself useful by healing the pairs’ cuts and scrapes.
Pretty soon, she realized she was pregnant. Going to Remus, she asked him if he could raise the pups as his own, since she wasn’t sure who the father was. He agreed and in a few months’ time, she gave birth to Plover and Blue Jay.
Marisol slowly warmed up to her, especially when she had her own pups and Egret cared for them as if they were her own.
Overall, Egret acted as a mother for the entire pack. Wolves could go to her for advice, a nice chat, or comfort.
Marisol

Beta, Scout, Mate to Remus
Born to Unnamed Mother and Unnamed Father // Pair-bonded to Remus
Marisol’s puphood was as normal as it could get. She had loving parents, siblings that she adored, and the protection of the pack.
It all changed when she started training. She wanted something different than what her parents wanted, and that was apparently reason enough to cut her off.
Great Lupus forbid she become a scout. No, she simply had to be a finisher, use her unnatural size to her advantage. Or, even better, utilize those long legs of hers to become a chaser, like her mother was.
They didn’t even talk to her, and it got even worse when their new pups were born. Her parents drove her away when she tried to meet her new siblings, and then when they started training, they strutted around boasting about how proud they were of their children, who were training to be chasers and finishers.
By then, Marisol was an adult and had become very close with Dorian, another member of their pack. She couldn’t care less about what her parents thought or did anymore, she just wanted to be happy with her own life.
Until one day, Dorian disappeared.
Not completely; she knew what had happened. There was a strange travelling pack of wolves that stayed in their territory for a few days. They had interesting things to trade, including rare herbs and seashells. One of the wolves was a cream colored she-wolf, and she flirted with Dorian from day one. The day that they left was the day that he did.
It broke her.
If that wasn’t bad, her parents decided just then to talk to her. They belittled her and told her that Dorian was better off with that other wolf anyway, and who would want a wolf that wasn’t a hunter? She couldn’t provide for her family, all she was good for was having pups.
It became so bad that Marisol just left. She walked for many moons. She walked until she was completely sure that nobody could ever find her. Finally, she stopped and focused on building up her walls. It was a year until she met Remus, and he destroyed what she tried so hard to keep up.
He was....something else. He made her feel needed. When he told her about his dreams to start his own pack, she realized that she very desperately wanted to participate in that dream. She couldn’t imagine her life without Remus anymore.
Remus was everything to her, and she would die before she let anything hurt him.
Remus

Founder of the Lily-Pine pack, Alpha, Mate to Marisol
Born to Lily and Unknown Father // Pair Bonded to Marisol
Having his own pack was all that kept him going. It was his mother’s only wish for him, and he’d be damned if he didn’t do that one thing for her. So, he trekked through the wilderness, using his wits and friendly personality to survive.
Remus was friendly. Marisol would say too friendly. However, it kept him alive when he was a lone wolf. No matter what type of creature it was, Remus would speak to it. It didn’t matter if they couldn’t understand him; tone was pretty universal. Several times it got him a scrap of meat or two when he was starving, other times it got him sent off with a warning snarl or bite. Still, Remus continued to see the good in everyone.
Another thing about him was that he’s persistent. That was the only reason he became friends with Marisol in the first place. He just refused to leave her alone. He didn’t know why, but he was drawn to her. There was something about the way she would snarl at him that made him reluctant to leave. Eventually, the growls and barks lessened in intensity, and Marisol settled for tolerating him.
Remus and Marisol started the Lily-Pine pack, and while Remus’s charismatic and friendly nature kept the pack together, he was fairly naive. That was where Marisol came in. She kept him out of trouble and taught him much about pack life. They were as equal and as opposite as two wolves could get, but they worked. Some even said their life-paths were one, intertwined in a dance that was older than the stars.
Remus was the founder and alpha of the Lily-Pine pack, and he did a damn good job.

Finally rolling over after months
I’m gonna change up the way I write about my lore I think, to make it easier on myself to keep everything updated. I’m no longer going to be writing all the time, and I’m just going to be doing updates + small snippets of dialogue or something.
With that being said, some updates to the pack:
Elk (a chaser) and Callum (herbalist) have pair bonded. They’ve adopted Deca.

Deca throws himself into everything with the greatest enthusiasm. He works hard in his training. Callum originally wanted him to become the next pack herbalist, but after speaking with Remus, Deca wants to become a finisher.
Secondly, Archer and Jupiter adopted Selena

Selena is a curious pup. She has an odd, star-shaped mark on her forehead and she seems wise beyond her years. When she first came to the pack, she requested that she become an herbalist, and Remus agreed. He believes that she will bring great change to the pack.
For lore purposes, I will be changing her base to a lunar base at some point.
Ok so consider: I write some lore after not writing for months
Boutta write everything so out of order but I promise I will focus at some point and work on the google doc version I have, but for now!!! I will write about Plover and Blue Jay, Egret’s first litter.

WE IN FIRST BABYYYYY
I had a dream last night that one of the pups I bought died and lemme tell ya, rollover was TERRIFYING.
I created a thread to document all of your very lovely lore threads and discuss them!!
https://www.wolvden.com/chatter/topic/272457
Fuck it. Y’all can deal with part one being in past tense and I’ll fix it when I feel like thinking.
I just wrote three pages of lore in past tense and now I’m thinking about rewriting it in present tense because I guess I just love to suffer.
Would it be weird to have some lore in past tense and some in present??? Probably. Do I care? Unfortunately.
I just bought three new pups and my dumb ass already gave them lore so now I’m attached and if they die I will be SO pissed
My entry for Xylax’s contest!
(On mobile, so no read more, sorry!)
“The Shadow Beast”
The shadows welcomed them, as they had always done. It’s where they lived, and they knew nothing else.
They used to long to feel the sun warming their back, to prance in the golden meadows like the other creatures did. They wandered tentatively out one morning, their curiosity driving them, only to scurry back to their shadows with a hiss of pain, thin tendrils of smoke lifting from their flesh.
That was when they were still New. When it had only been days and weeks and months since they had opened their eyes for the first time.
Now, they continued what they had been doing day after day, year after year. They nimbly leaped among the shadowy treetops, the new moon glowing dimly. For such a huge creature they were surprisingly agile.
Below, a wolf pack ran across the land like a comet streaking across the sky.
The creature followed them, their heart leaping and bounding like an excited puppy. This was the only way to fill the hole in their soul, if only for a little while.
They watched the pack hunt and howl and sleep, a silent guardian.
When the pack moved for the winter, they stayed in their forest with their shadows. It was incredibly lonely.
Throughout the winter months, the creature slept or wandered. The grey winter sky enabled them to go outside of the shadows, but they inevitably returned. No other creature wanted to see them. They were all too afraid.
“The Shadow Beast will eat you up if you don’t go to sleep,” rabbit mothers said to their children.
“The Shadow Beast will drink your blood and crunch your bones while you’re still alive,” wolf packs howled in fear.
“It can climb trees and squeeze into the smallest spaces to eat up chicks in their nest,” owls warned their friends.
The Shadow Beast. It fit, they supposed.
Like the winters before, they wandered their forest, slipping between trees without so much as a rustle of leaves. The sky was pitch black, and the forest was quiet. They enjoyed the silence.
Something broke the silence. Their ears twitched and they froze mid step.
Sticks were cracking and breaking, accompanied with the evident thump of wolf paws hitting the ground. They were getting closer.
A split second decision was made, and they stepped out of the safety of the shadows.
Two wolves burst into the clearing. The female instantly collapsed, while the male skidded to a stop.
He didn’t see the creature at first, but when he did, he took up a defensive stance in front of the female.
Although he trembled with fear, he looked them in the eye. “What are you?”
They blinked, surprised at the male’s boldness. They took their time to respond, turning the question over in their mind. It was a good question. Finally they answered. “They call me The Shadow Beast.” Their voice was deep and guttural, as if it hadn’t been used in thousands of years.
The wolf bowed his head in acknowledgement. “I am called Elm, and this is my mate, Flight. Please allow us to take refuge in your forest until we can recover.”
Elm favored his left hind leg, and his fur was matted. Flight was also clearly pregnant. The creature would not ask them to leave.
“Of course, stay as long as you like. Although, this forest is home to another wolf pack in the spring.”
They stepped farther into the clearing. Flight sat up, staring at them. There was no fear in her eyes, only curiosity and gratitude.
“Why do they call you that?” she asked quietly.
They sat down slowly, unsure. What did she mean? Did she not notice the way their fur blended in with the shadows? The way their teeth gleamed in the night, and their eyes glimmered like that of a predator’s? “It’s what I am,” they answered simply.
“You don’t have a name?”
“I’ve had no one to name me.”
Flight tilted her head. “You don’t have a mother?” She sounded almost astonished and there was something else in her voice...sympathy?
They shook their head. Why would a creature like them have a mother? They were not like other creatures.
“That’s terrible,” Flight whispered. “Do you have any friends?”
“I am all alone.” They stated it like a fact, pushing their loneliness down deep.
“We’ll be your friends. Do you mind if I name you?” Flight inched closer.
“I suppose it’s fine.” They wondered why it mattered to her, but nonetheless a thrill went through them.
“How does North sound?”
North. “North,” they murmured, trying out the sound. A surge of emotion swept through them, feeling like they were finally known, finally existing. They smiled a big toothy grin, their eyes glowing brighter than they did before. “North is my name!”
Flight’s tail tapped on the ground happily and she yipped, joining in their excitement.
From then on, North cared for them. They plucked deer and other animals easily from the ground, killing and delivering them to the pair. After a few days, they offered their den, a large cave, for them to stay in.
Flight gave birth to a gorgeous slate colored male and named him Comet. The little pup lived up to his name, darting around the cave energetically. As he grew, he proved to be fast like his mother. The family decided to stay with North, and they became their guardian.
They all lived in relative peace, with only a few scuffles with the resident pack. North’s name became associated with hope, family, and kindness. They stopped calling them “The Shadow Beast”, instead looking to them as a deity of sorts.
Eventually, Elm and Flight died. Comet became friends with a she-wolf from the forest pack and left to be with her. He promised to visit, and he did, once. He brought his three pups and his mate, and that was the last North saw of him.
Sometimes pregnant she-wolves would come to their cave to receive a blessing for their future pups, but that had practice died out over the years.
Now, North sat outside their cave, staring at the stars. They were very old, although it didn’t show.
It had been hundreds of years since their family died. Oh, how they longed to see Elm and Flight one more time.
They had met and befriended many wolves, but none would come even close to the bond they shared with their first friends.
Something brushed against one of their massive clawed hands. They looked down and almost began sobbing when they saw who it was.
“Did you miss us?” Flight barked. Beside her stood Elm, and behind them, Comet.
North ducked their head, gently nuzzling Flight. “I missed you all. Why are you here?”
“It’s time for you to go,” Flight said. “You’ve helped so many over the years, and now your job is done. I know you’re tired, so come rest.” She stood and a shaft of moonlight touched the ground. The she-wolf took a few steps onto it before turning and waiting for North to follow.
A glimmering tear dropped to the ground as North stood. “Thank you,” they whispered. They stepped onto the path, feeling warmth envelop them like an embrace. Elm and Comet brought up the rear as Flight led North to their home among the stars.
In the sky, North shone brighter than any other star and even in death, they remained a beacon of hope.
