Astronomical View

Y/n laid peacefully in her bed in Welkin Castle. Everyone was asleep, or should've been asleep. As she slept without a worry, she felt herself being shook softly.

She let out a soft groan as she slowly opened her eyes to see a figure standing in front of her with a finger to their lips.

“Cuphead?” She whispered in confusion. What was he doing up right now?

“Hey doll, sorry to wake you, but I gotta show ya’ somethin’.” Cuphead whispered excitedly. He grabbed her arm and helped her out of bed.

“What? What’s going on?” Y/n whispered to him as she wobbled slightly, trying to gain her balance.

Cuphead quickly grabbed Y/n’s shoes and gave them to her to put them on.

She crouched down and put them on without questioning it. As she finished putting on her shoes and standing back up, she was immediately dragged to the balcony. Y/n was beyond confused at this point.

"Uhh, Cuphead, what are we doing out here?” Y/n asked in a slightly louder voice after she shut the balcony doors behind them.

“We-“ He climbed over the edge of the balcony railing. “-are going on an adventure."

“Wha- What? Adventure?! Right now? Just us?” Y/n rambled. They can’t just leave the others. She went closer to the railing so she could talk better with Cuphead and see what he was doing.

"Relax, dollface; you worry too much.” Cuphead smiled as he suddenly dropped down from the balcony.

Y/n let out a loud gasp as she ran up close to the edge. “Cuphead?!” She softly yelled, trying not to wake the others. She looked around frantically until she saw him on the ground, perfectly unscathed.

“Like I said, you worry too much!” Y/n heard the taunting in his voice. She rolled her eyes, surprised she could see his stupid smile from the distance. The drop wasn’t horribly detrimental—just about 25–30 feet, she assumed. A toon could fall from there and get slightly sore, but still stay intact. A human, on the other hand, risks breaking a leg.

So it was completely natural for Y/n to back off from the railing. “If you think I’m jumping off this, you are dead wrong. I would like two working legs for Warrior Falls.” Y/n let off a small shiver. She was always in fear of Warrior Falls, whether the nerves, or something else. She felt as if something life-altering would happen, but enough of that.

She stared down at Cuphead in disbelief as he gave her one of his stupidest ideas yet. “I will catch you!”

“That is a stupid idea.” Y/n scolded as she slowly but carefully climbed onto the railing. She was crouched on the ledge, hesitating. Finally, she let go and...

she fell…..

and fell….

and fell…..

and then…

She was caught.

“I told you I would catch you.” Cuphead cooed as he held her in a bridal carry.

“Shut up and put me down.” Y/n looked away, embarrassed to be wrong.

“Anything for you, princess."

“Don’t call me that.”

“Alright hun.”

“You’re disgusting.”

The two kept bantering while Cuphead led them both into the nearby woods.

They walked and laughed, their joy echoing in the relatively quiet forest. Some birds and crickets chirped and sang their nightly lullaby songs.

Finally, Cuphead stopped the two's journey. “Here we are!” He revealed cheerfully that they arrived at an open clearing of grass. It was lit up by fireflies that danced around them as they walked further into the clearing.

“So, you wanted to show me a clearing?” Y/n questioned.

“Nope, I wanted to go stargazing with you!” Cuphead fell backwards to the ground. His back was to the ground as he looked up at the sky. Y/n looked at him skeptically before lying next to him.

She was astonished.

She stared at the beautiful stars that played in the sky. The planets Mars, Venus, and Jupiter were visible tonight. She saw all the tiny specks as they decorated the sky, like someone took a paint brush and splattered it on a black canvas. She couldn’t breathe.

She continued to gaze at the sky. Her whole life was in front of her, but she couldn’t see it. She was just a feeble speck in billions of other stories, but she was never less important. Her story always brought something that no other story had.

She hadn’t noticed Cuphead had stopped looking at the stars but had begun to look at her. He gazed at her; nothing was imperfect about her. Every flaw she thought she had vanished in his eyes. Every doubt about herself was false in his heart. His mind longed to know hers, and his heart longed to touch hers.

“It’s so beautiful, I can’t even form words for it…” Y/n whispered as she was mesmerized by the sky's beauty.

“Yeah, I can’t form words for the beauty I see." Cuphead muttered as he continued to gaze at Y/n. He was mesmerized, not by the sky but by her.

Could we have a Ragatha x reader where she falls for and eventually confesses to the reader?

Organized Love

You were standing in front of a group of Gloinks, trying to sort them by color and shape. It was a little difficult since they never stayed still, but they were fond of you enough to stay in a relative area. You were completely focused on them and not paying attention to your surroundings to see Ragatha a little ways away.

She watched as you continued to move the Gloinks around and how you would take a step back every now and then to take a bigger look at your progress. You always amazed her with the way your mind worked. You were probably the most organized of the circus gang, and she was fond of you for that.

As she kept watching you work, something went off in her head, and it made her eyes widen.

Does she like you?

No, no, no, that’s impossible! She would never like anyone! You are just a friend; that’s it. Only her friend. Her fantastic, wonderful, attractive, divine friend

….

So she might like you slightly. But she will never tell you. After all, you probably don’t like her back either.

As she was lost in thought, she hadn’t noticed you finished sorting the Gloinks out and were walking over to her.

“Hey Ragatha! How long were you here?” You asked kindly as you stood in front of her.

“Oh! Hey, Y/n, I just got here.” Ragatha spit out a white lie. She moved a hand to rub her neck as she glanced to her left, away from you.

“Alrighty then, I’m going to head back to my room.” You informed her as you began to walk away.

“Hey wait!”

You turned around quickly to face her. “Yeah?”

"I....uh....nevermind...heh sorry” She apologized with a nervous smile and chuckle. She looked extremely anxious, for whatever reason.

"Oh, uh, ok? See you soon, Loon!” You ran off to your room quickly. Not wanting her to see the blush of embarrassment covering your face. Loon?! What kind of nickname is that? Jeez, you could’ve said ‘Milf’ and it probably would’ve been better!

Unbeknownst to you, as you ran off, Ragatha stood there, astonished. A bright pink blush covered her cheeks as she brought her right hand up to her lips. A small smile gathered on her lips.

As you sat in your room, overthinking for the past 3 hours, there was a soft knock on your door. That was odd considering nobody really knocks on each other's doors. You got up from your position on the end of your bed and slowly opened your door.

“Ragatha?”

You were met with complete silence.

Ragatha was in front of you, but she wouldn’t say a word. She just stared into your eyes, like she was mesmerized. Finally, she spoke, just above a mutter.

“Your eyes are beautiful."

The truth was splayed in her voice. You were taken aback.

“…what..?”

“Your eyes. They are beautiful. I'm staring into a vast abyss that’s empty, but comforting. Alone, but warm. Solitary, but welcoming.” Her soft voice danced around the two of you like a waltz in a vacant ballroom.

"I... thank you. Would you like to come in?” You were so taken aback by her words that all you could do was invite her in. You opened the door fully for her to walk through. As she did, you both took a seat on the edge of your bed.

"So... what was that all about? Don’t get me wrong, I am immensely flattered, and I loved the compliment. But I’m confused as to why." You questioned her curiously.

Now it was her turn to be a flustered and blushing mess.

“Well I…. I just noticed how nice they are...and..ummm...I'm sorry. I wasn’t thinking when I spoke....and uhh..." She rambled on.

You simply chuckled softly as she ranted, which quickly caught her attention as she had a timid look. You quickly reassured her that you weren’t laughing at her.

“Oh no, no! I wasn’t laughing at you! Well, I kind of was—what I mean is, I was laughing at you rambling because it’s adorable!” It was your time to ramble.

Ragatha gave you a warm smile, feeling more reassured now than before.

“Y/n.” She cut off your blabbering.

“Huh? Yeah?”

She brought both her hands to your cheeks and kissed your temple softly.

“You are the first thing I think of when I wake up, the last thought I have when I fall asleep, and my every thought in between... I love you.

You sat there, not saying a word. Shell-shocked. Face pure vermillion.

“Well?” Ragatha asked quietly, hoping for an answer about whether you loved her back or not. She braced herself for a punch in the gut, saying, ‘I don’t feel that way about you.’

But it never came.

You took her hands in your own and set them in your lap as you looked into her eyes.

“I don’t know how to describe my feelings right now but I will try…” You trailed off, trying to think of how to explain your feelings to her.

“Your smile brings me so much joy; I can’t fathom a world without you in it. Ragatha….” You couldn’t finish your sentence; you didn’t know how to.

“Ragatha… I think… I can love you too.”

Pinky Promise - Ruck Oneshot

“Y/N!!!” You heard someone yell.

Why were they yelling?

You stood there, shocked, confused, and dissociated. You looked down and noticed your shirt was crimson. By touching your stomach lightly, blood gathered at your fingertips. You took a wobbly step backwards before hearing two thuds, the first belonging to yourself as you fell to the ground. The second belonged to your great uncle, Ruck. He was on his knees, your head cradled in his lap, as he tried to stop the bleeding effortlessly.

"Hey, hey, stay with me, alright?” He babbled frantically, pushing down on your stomach. He looked terrified. You hated it.

“I’ll- I’ll be fine." You comforted him softly, sucking in a breath of pain. 

Everything that just happened flooded into your mind. You were in the Warrior Falls championship. Stinks changed his target from the mannequin to you. Stinks shot you with his bow and arrow. Now you were on the ground, with your great uncle holding you as you bled out in his arms. He was crying. Ruck was crying? He never cried, not even when the toon died.

“It will be ok, Ruck." You whispered through your teeth, trying to cover the pain.

It was becoming unbearable. It felt like a fiery phoenix was on a rampage in your body and was wreaking havoc on all your organs, but it would never compare to the pain in his eyes.

“Kid, please…” He whimpered. He had never whimpered in front of you. You hated the sound. More tears fell from his eyes and covered his cheeks. “Don’t leave me. Don’t do this to me."

“You’ll be ok without me; you have the toons.”

“No-“

“You’ll survive”

“Kid no!” He shouted angrily. “I can’t do this again. I can’t lose you too!"

You remembered the words he used when he comforted you once. Maybe they will help him now?

“You’re strong, and you’re smart. You’ll make it, and you’ll have a good life. Even without me there to help you up. You deserve happiness, Ruck, even if you don’t think so.”

“Kid, I can’t-“

“Please, for me.” You begged. You had to know that he’ll be alright without you.

“I…” 

You stuck your pinky out. Your hand was shaking so much that your eyes couldn’t focus on it. You were running out of time.

“Pinky promise me?”

He let out a laugh that sounded more like a sob. Even so, he interlocked his pinky with yours as more tears fell from his eyes.

“Pinky promise.”

You shakily smiled. You sucked in one final breath. “I’m going to miss you."

“Me too, kid…” He replied whisperly, watching your form go limp in his arms. “Me too…”

“Why did you do it?! What made you think I would like that?!” The rain pelted down as Rosa held her tears back. Her words full of anger and betrayl.

“I….I….don’t know…” Benjamin stared at the ground with his soaking clothes clinging to his form. He wasn’t sure what to do. He didn’t think this would happen.

“You should’ve expected something like this to happen. I can’t believe I was so oblivious! Why did I ever believe you were the one?” Rosa turned away and started walking away from Benjamin. Tears fell from her eyes like the rain fell from the clouds. She held her arms to her chest to try and keep some warmth.

“What….so you’re just going to walk away?! Like you always do?! You always run away from your problems Rosa!!” Benjamin shouted with venom. He glared at Rosa’s figure that was standing still in the cold rain. Even at 100 feet away, he could see her shivers from the cold.

“Do you want to know my problem? The problem I tried to face head on?” Rosa spoke quietly but still loud enough from Benjamin to hear. She turned her head slightly. “My problem….was that I loved you. And I hate myself that I couldn’t even tell you. I tried but I was and still am a coward. So there you go. My problem was my feelings for you. I love you, Benjamin. But it’s now obvious that you don’t care for me as I care for you.” Rosa then kept walking away. Not stopping to turn back to see his reaction. She had an internal battle of running back to him and hugging him. To apologize for everything that went wrong. To say how she truly felt at the moment. To tell him everything. But alas, she kept walking until she was out of his sight.

Benjamin stood there, shocked. He couldn’t believe it. The girl he liked for so long….liked him back?? God he was such an idiot! How could he ever yell at her like that?? She never deserved someone as bad as him. He sunk to his knees and sat on the soaked concrete beneath him. He hugged his kneese close as he was lost in thought. How could he ever yell at her like that? He was such a mean person. He lost his only chance to explain his love. He lost his love…
