In which Idia goes on a date with (Y/n) — only that this shy boy of course is way too nervous to go in person, so he sends a robot-version of himself instead.
In hindsight, that may have been a bad idea because robot-Idia seems to be even more prone to combustion in his crush's presence, just way more literally.
[This is Part (2/2); Part (1/2) can be found here.]

"Hey, Idia! How are you doing— wait..."
Your gaze fell, and your hand slipped right off your door knob as you stared up at him in confusion. Something about the male standing on your doorstep was off-putting. His eyes seemed even more lifeless than usual, and his posture was stiffer.
"Hello, (Y/n)," Idia said — well, it was his voice, but it came from a robot. Your eyes widened at how confident his voice sounded, much unlike the time you had asked him out. The robot strolled past your flabbergasted form, and started to turn his head around to take in your room. "How are you doing on this fine evening?"
While robot Idia stood in the middle of your room, the real Idia sat in his room, his eyes glued to his PC's monitor as that typical gremlin grin appeared on his blue lips. Immeasurable pride filled his chest as he shamelessly marvelled at you through the robot's front camera, exhaling in bliss as he zoomed closer with a button on his keyboard. What a genius he was for coming up with such an excellent solution to all his problems!
Continuing to stare at him with a confused furrow of your eyebrow, your lips eventually tugged up into a little smile. "You... you made a robot-version of yourself, Idia?" you asked, a little bit amused as you closed the door to your room behind you.
Idia immediately tensed in his chair, the victorious grin on his face now replaced by an expression of utter worry and panic. "I-Is that not okay?" he spoke into his microphone, voice shaking slightly.
"Actually, that's quite impressive!" you said, shaking your head in excitement. Carefully, you grabbed the robot's metallic hand to run your finger tips over the cold material. Idia hurriedly panned the camera down to where you had intertwined your hand with his. His heart started to race, and inwardly he wished that he would have mustered up the courage to visit you personally. "Wow, he looks so lifelike! You're really talented, Idia!"
Your words of praise made him fall back into his chair in embarrassment. "Oh thank you, (Y/n). It was nothing, really, h-haha." He kept pinching himself, wondering if this was just a stupid dream or some sort of hallucination due to a lack of sleep. His face hurt from all the smiling as he proudly said, "But that's very kind of you to say."
Gently, you raised your intertwined hands, watching them with big eyes. Idia did, too — but he felt jealousy surge through him at the sight of the metallic hand in yours. If he had mustered up the courage to visit you himself, then maybe that would have been his hand that you were holding right now? He let out a little huff, cursing his anxiety and shyness. For now, he would have to be satisfied with imagining himself in place of his robot.
"So, I told you that I struggled with a particularly hard boss in a game, right?" you asked, causing Idia to sigh to himself in a disappointed tone when you slowly peeled your hand away from the robot's once you had admired Idia's handicraft enough. Instead. You led him towards your desk where a pretty trashy monitor, keyboard, and mouse sat.
"Yes, you did." Idia watched your setup from his desk, grinning like a gremlin. "You never told me which one though— Wait, that's your PC?"
At his genuine shock at how much of a potato your PC was, you started to rub your neck, and let out a sheepish chuckle. "Ah, I know it's not the newest one. I'm too broke to buy the newest graphics card, the RTX 3080... I can only dream of it." You exhaled dreamily as you threw yourself into your chair, and pressed a button to start up your machine. "Oh, to have one of those..."
Looking down at his nails as if feigning humbleness and disinterest, he casually remarked, "Actually, that's the graphics card I currently use—"
Your eyes lit up at his words, and you immediately snapped around to gaze into the camera lenses with wide eyes. Idia couldn't help but giggle to himself at your surprise, and decided to hide his burning face behind his sleeves. His heart leapt a beat when you exclaimed, "How did you get your hands on one of those!? I thought they were sold out!"
Leaning closer to his microphone, he confidently replied, "Well, I have my ways."
"Wow, that's so cool! Your PC must be super powerful then." You gazed into the camera with such sparkling eyes that Idia would have almost fainted from how quick his heartbeat had gotten. He let out a few maniacal chuckles — of course making sure that the microphone was turned off — as he pressed his fingertips together, especially when you shyly asked, "Could I... Could I play on it too, sometime?"
"E-Eh—" His cheeks started to redden at the thought of you inside of his room. Laughing dreamily, he managed to stutter out, "If you want to?"
"Thanks, you're the best, Idia!" You shot him one last wink that made him almost fall out of his chair before you returned to your monitor, which was now displaying your Steam account. Humming softly, you proposed, "Anyway, oh! Do you want to be Steam friends?"
Steam friends?! Idia started hyperventilating like a teen girl at a concert. Desperately trying to catch his breath, he wheezed out, "...sure. I'd like that." His hair started flaming up from how embarrassed and guilty he felt for positioning the robot in the best position to be able to gaze at your face; shame bubbled up as he shakily zoomed in. He brought his face closer to his own monitor, his eyes sparkling like a child on Christmas.
When you turned to look at him, he jumped and screamed in surprise. He fell to the floor for real this time, groaning as he put his hands onto his desk to pull himself up. Unaware of the panic attack he was living through in his room, you began, "So, the boss I'm struggling with is pretty hard to beat! It's the Ebony Warrior from—"
"Skyrim, right?" Idia cut in, feeling a little bit light-headed. He groaned as he put his hands onto the desk to push himself up with his shaky arms.
"Oh! Correct— you know so many games, Idia!"
"Oh, it's nothing special." He started to laugh nervously as he carefully climbed into his chair again, this time forcing himself to pane away from your face and to the monitor that was loading up said game. Pulling his lips into a little frown, he tapped his lips; his gamer side was surfacing. "Anyway, so... you're level eighty-five and... are playing a stealth assassin."
"Heh, yes. I tried to play a warrior this time around, but I somehow always magically turn into an assassin by the end of my playthroughs."
"Well, it's the only way to really play Skyrim~" he cooed, but immediately covered his mouth with his hands. How... how had you managed to make him let his guard down so fast? But when you started to laugh at his joke, he removed his hand and felt a relieved shudder run down his back. He felt proud for having managed to make you laugh.
Not realising that Idia was on the brink of an existential crisis just because of your laughter, you replied, "Hehe, yes— anyway, so I've tried fighting him before? But it's really hard as a stealth assassin. Especially because I don't want to just oneshot him with a sneak dagger attack."
Idia calmed down once he watched you silently scrolling through your inventory. He made the robot bend down, so that his chin was almost resting on your shoulder. The blush his action received almost made him cheer in victory, but he somehow managed to return to the task at hand. "That Daedric bow looks pretty good, same with your Dark Brotherhood armour..." he mumbled, surprising you with how knowledgable he sounded. "Oh, and Farkas as a companion should be alright. But you do know that Vilkas is a better companion than Farkas?"
"Yeah... but Farkas is my husband," you admitted with a light giggle. "And he's a cute dork."
Idia raised his eyebrows, quickly taking out his tablet to quickly write down your words. "So that's your type? I see..." he mumbled as the tip of his digital pen was dragged across the smooth surface of his machine. A little bit absent-minded, he let out a little hum. "So, go on and attack the Ebony Warrior. A sneak bow attack should do the trick, and it's not overpowered enough to kill him immediately — like a dagger sneak attack."
"Okay, wish me luck!" you said as you cracked your knuckles and rolled your shoulders before pressing down the left mouse button to draw your bow. Eventually, you let go and the arrow zoomed right towards the imposing enemy idly standing in the distance. When a familiar 'ping' signalled you that the sneak attack had been a success, the Ebony Warrior drew his sword and started to attack your companion.
Idia watched intently through the camera as you continued to shoot arrows at the enemy while your companion distracted him — but that plan only worked as long as your companion stayed alive. Quicker than you had hoped, your ally fell to his knees in surrender. Now, the enemy was charging straight at you, making you start panicking.
"Oh no— Farkas is down... and now the Ebony Warrior is coming for me! Idia! Idia! What do I do? I can't snipe him from a distance because he has a bow, too!"
"Calm down... calm down..." Idia said as put his tablet away, and instead put his whole attention to your monitor to find a solution. "Well, try to use that Whirlwind Shout to get farther away from him. Then, look for a place where he can't reach you." You did he said, and managed to get far enough to a point where you could hide behind a big boulder. That's when a familiar fear-inducing roar filled your ears.
"Oh! Oh— wait, there's a dragon in the distance!" you exclaimed, running towards the scary creature instead of away from it. You panned your camera around to see how close behind you the Ebony Warrior was; a scream escaped your lips once you realised that he was right behind you and swinging his sword at you, drastically decreasing your health. "Maybe I can get the dragon to distract the Ebony Warrior?"
"Sounds like a good plan," Idia replied calmly, stupidly grinning at the way your expression seemed so focused and so intense. "Chip at his health with your bow while he's busy with the dragon."
Indeed, the dragon eventually landed, and drew the attention of the Ebony Warrior away from you. Exhaling in utter relief, you entered your inventory again to chug down all of your health potions.
The dragon did the majority of decreasing the Ebony Warrior's health for you, but eventually, it fell victim to the swordsman, too. When the unwavering boss ran towards you again with his sword raised, all it took was one final arrow before he fell to his knees. Your breath hitched, and you couldn't believe it when the final arrow lodged itself into his chest that was by now full of them.
"At last, Sovngarde..." the Ebony Warrior murmured before he limply dropped to the floor, dead. Eyes watering in joy, you jumped up from your chair and threw yourself at robot Idia. You didn't even manage to make the robot budge one centimetre, although Idia jumped a metre high when your overly happy face suddenly was all over his monitor.
"Idia! I did it! I did it!" You hugged the robot, burying your nose in Idia's typical jacket that was draped over the machine. On the other side, Idia was furiously making screenshots. He wanted, no he needed these pictures of you smiling right into the camera. Somehow, it felt like he was in some sort of otome game due to the close-up of your face — and in the middle of a confession scene, too. "Man, I've been trying to defeat the Ebony Warrior for a week now! Thanks so much, Idia."
His hair flamed up when you brought your face closer to the camera, giving Idia the feeling that you were about to kiss him. Slapping himself to return to the real world, he quickly retorted, "Y-You did all the work."
"Well, Ortho really didn't lie when he said you were a pro-gamer!" you chirped, feeling how the robot's metallic skin was growing warmer and warmer by the second, which threw you a little bit off. You were about to ask Idia if this was supposed to he normal, but decided against it. "Thanks for all the tips. I wouldn't have discovered the dragon if I hadn't ran away from the Ebony Warrior."
"Hehe, thank you, (Y/n)," he replied, swooning inwardly. He put his face into his palm, only for his elbow to slip, and cause his face to slam against his desk. But he felt no pain once he raised his gaze to see your cute face. "Hearing you say that really makes me happy—"
Before he could finish his sentence, he noticed that your face was no longer in the middle of his screen — no, you were on the right side, kissing the robot's cheek. Idia simply sat there with wide eyes, not able to tear his gaze away from how you had pressed a kiss to—
He was so enamoured that he didn't notice the warnings popping up in the right corner of his screen, trying to tell him of how the robot's system temperatures were through the roof already.
When he finally did notice the multiple warnings, his monitor had already turned black, only showing a flat black screen and playing static. Idia cried out in frustration as he grabbed his monitor in anger, cursing his robot-version for combusting even easier than him. Maybe he should have installed a (Y/n)-resister.
Meanwhile, your room was filled with grey smoke; it was so bad that you were forced to open a window. Coughing and sucking in the sweet air that streamed in through the window, you watched as the burning smoke slowly left the room to reveal broken and charred electronics and metal plates, as well as the clothes the robot had worn, strewn all over your room. Luckily, you were unharmed.
"W-What was that?" you asked, carefully venturing towards the robot's head that had rolled right in front of your feet. Picking it up, you wiped the layer of dust off the face. "Idia, can you hear me?"
You received no reply from the head, making you assume that it didn't work anymore.
"Hm... interesting how he just combusted..." you mumbled to yourself as you grabbed a random cardboard box you conveniently had laying around. Humming, you made your way through your room to pluck the parts from the ground and lower them into your container. "Maybe he wants these parts returned?"
When Idia heard someone knocking against his door later that night, he found it hard to climb out from under his blankets and open the door. He especially grew restless when he realised that it was you who stood in front of his room once he looked at his PC monitor that showed the corridor outside.
Taking a deep breath, he ran a hand through his unruly hair before shyly opening the door. You didn't need to know that he had tried to cry himself to sleep earlier that evening.
"Good evening, Idia!" you greeted him with a big smile, holding the cardboard box filled with various electronics pieces out to him. "I have the parts of your combusted robot-version here with me. Do you want them back?"
For a moment, he forgot how to speak due to the way your eyes looked up at him in such a soft way that he almost melted into a puddle. "This is so embarrassing..." he croaked out, the hand that rested on the outer side of his door turning into a fist. Sighing, he pushed the door open a little bit further so he could take the box from you. "T-Thanks for delivering them. It must have been a hassle."
"Oh no, it wasn't a hassle at all!" You smiled as his hands brushed against yours briefly, causing his hair to flame up. "Here you go."
"Thank you..." Once he had set the box down next to his desk, he returned to the doorway to say goodbye? He knew that he sometimes came off as rude, and he couldn't come off that way to his crush — so he forced himself to endure more social interaction than he would have liked. His eyes shyly peeked out from the gap, about to close the door. "Uhm... good night—"
Before he could completely close the door, you reached up to grab his retracting hand that used to rest on the outer side of the door. He clumsily stumbled forward with a yelp as he had no other choice but to bend down closer to you. Quickly, you pressed a kiss to his pale cheek — just like you had done to his robot-version half an hour ago.
You just hoped he wouldn't combust, too.
When you pulled away and let go of his wrist, his eyes were ripped wide open.
"There! Thanks for helping me again," you said rather shyly, regretting your impulsive action. Before you could embarrass yourself any further, you excused yourself before stumbling away. "But yes, good night, Idia. Sweet dreams!"
Once you were gone, Idia fell to the floor, the shocked expression on his face having morphed into one big smile. He stayed frozen like that, until another presence barged inside his room, worried. Ortho hadn't meant to enter, but saw no other choice when he saw that Idia hadn't properly closed the door to his room — which just screamed that something was out of order.
"Big Brother? Idia?! I saw your door open and—" Ortho stopped himself, almost having tripped over his lifeless brother on the ground. Curiously gazing down at the stupidly smiling Idia, he waved his hand in front of his eyes. "Are you alright?!"
"Idia.exe has stopped working," Idia said, his thoughts somewhere in a realm of his fantasies. Silly giggles escaped his lips as he flopped onto his side, curling up into a ball.
"Oh..." Ortho scratched his head before sighing. "Input: shutdown /r."
After a few minutes, Idia returned to reality, and shot up to grab his brother by his shoulders to shake him back and forth with energy and force unmatched. "Ortho! She kissed me!" Idia cried out, tears of happiness running down his cheeks. He was sniffling and sobbing. "(Y/n) kissed me!"
"Oh? Congrats!" Ortho was genuinely happy for his brother whilst he reached out to pat his head. Idia shakily reached up to touch the cheek where your lips had been mere minutes ago. Ortho laughed, chirping, "I'm so happy for you."
Idia nodded, tired already because of his sudden outburst. Rising from the ground like a zombie and holding his head, he huffed, "I think— I think I need to lie down. And never get up again."
“where to next, my dear wanderer?”
or, small scenarios & hcs of kuni’s life as a wanderer with his darling spouse <3
enjoy this absolute brain dump! & yes i did take inspo from his trailer for a few of them hehe. this also doesn’t go in a certain order! it’s pretty much a mass post for me to dump my thoughts into hehe.
a few suggestive moments but tbh barely. gn!reader, reader wears jewelry. unedited.

kuni being able to bask in the little things, one of his favorites being when you greet lazy mornings together, limbs intertwined and nowhere to be. no duties to fulfill in the tsaritsa’s name, and no more chronic migraines that his subordinates would give him. here, it was just you huddling against his bare chest, right over where his heart should be. he’s delightfully warm under the blankets and you intend to smother him in your affection. he’s the most receptive to it when he’s just woken up, claiming your lips with his after you’ve tickled him awake with your kisses. and yes, he’d be grumpy if you got out of bed before giving him his morning kiss :(
there are also less pleasant mornings where kuni wakes before the sun does, haunted by his past deeds and betrayals. he tries not to let it get the best of him, but when he feels particularly trapped, he puts on his shoes, grabs his hat, and goes for a brisk walk, occasionally bringing home ripe henna berries for a breakfast he plans on surprising you with, or kalpalata lotus’ for you to admire. you always feel his presence missing from your shared bed each time, your body acting on instinct letting you know your lover was away. the cold draft seeps in around you now that his embrace no longer kept it at bay, but knowing how much he needs these moments of solitude, you just settle for giving him a tight hug when he comes back <3
he plans to take you to every corner of teyvat, of course. now that he’s deemed himself a wanderer, he can’t think of a better time than the present moment, nor can he think of a better person to accompany him. he has no destination in mind, and no kin either–his strings attached to the electro archon long severed. it doesn’t matter, not when he’s found his home in you.
revisiting inazuma, his past, together once he’s ready. traipsing across the shores of seiraimaru were two lovers, sunset reflecting off the soft, golden waves, & one hand cradled tenderly in the other’s.
that foreign feeling of gratitude vaguely registers itself in the wanderer’s mind when he observes other couples constantly at each other’s throats, with no real love left in the relationship. he’s struck gold, he thinks, he knows. the only thing you two actually bicker over are dinner plans–he strongly denies that his passion for cooking is an indirect way of expressing his love for you but to no avail… he’s so obvious. his meals taste heavenly, but when would it be your turn to finally spoil the man with a breakfast in bed or something?! like clockwork, he smirks at your deadpan upon entering the kitchen, noticing he’s already beaten you to the task, shimi chazuke already halfway done and undoubtedly delicious.

their quiet care strikes you. you’d never thought you’d feel safe enough in the devildom to sleep, let alone in front of all of them, so vulnerable and exposed. but now, it feels so natural and you don’t even hesitate for a second. they truly are the most wonderful creatures, demons or not.
