I finally made some eyes for this thing, so here is a crochet whale I made that's inspired by rock strata. Her name is Dorothy

Here she is next to the hook I used to crochet her

Little rays of sunshine (ignore the fact that this drawing is clearly at night)

Here is a drawing of a whale fall I made

Here's a colored pencil drawing I did

It's just mushrooms, trees, and a pretty sky. The essentials.
I do

Here is a tree I drew. Is this accurate to a real life tree? Probably not. Is it pretty? That's subjective.
Vampire squids have a terrible name. They're binomial name is Vampyroteuthis Infernalis, which means vampire squids from hell. The problem with this name is:
1. They're not vampires. They're detritovores, meaning they eat marine snow and detritus. They're called this because when they get spooked, they curl their arms around their head to show off spikes on their arms. They kinda look like pineapples.
2. They're not from hell. They live in oxygen poor zones in the ocean, about 2,000 to 3,000 ft down. That's not even in the Hadalpelgic zone which is named after Hades.
3. They're not squids. They're in their own order called Vampyromorphida.
In conclusion, the vampire squid should be renamed to the vampiric pineapple.

I made this today, so here are a bunch of facts about whale sharks.

Whale sharks aren't whales, but they are sharks, which means their skeleton is mostly made of cartilage. Their scientific name is Rhincodon typus. They're filter feeders, and eating things like plankton and krill. The weirdest fact, in my opinion, about them is that they have thousands of tiny teeth that surround their eyes. These teeth are called dermal denticles, and their purpose is to protect the whale shark's eyes.
Also, there is an international whale shark day on August 30th. The point of this day is to raise awareness about the whale sharks because they, like all the other cool and interesting animals, are endangered. If you have nothing better to do on August 30th, bother people about whale sharks. Its the good thing to do.
