Morning Glories & Heavenly Blue

My thoughts. My feelings. My words. Stories are my greatest refuge and inspiration. I'm going to explore all those ideas, feel the influence, and just read, write, and edit.

I Know This Looks Disturbing, But It's Kinda Cool. I Could Even Use This As An Idea ;D

Like flies in amber, like corpses frozen in ice, that which according to the laws of nature should pass away is, by the miracle of ink on paper, preserved. It is a kind of magic. As one tends the graves of the dead, so I tend the books. And every day I open a volume or two, read a few lines or pages, allow the voices of the forgotten dead to resonate inside my head.

Diane Setterfield, The Thirteenth Tale (via observando)

The importance of books: a forgotten voice that we don't even know the sound to, and yet, we try our best to let the message reach us.

Which cover of your books is your favorite?

Do not discourage children from reading because you feel they are reading the wrong thing. Fiction you do not like is a route to other books you may prefer. And not everyone has the same taste as you.

I'm sorry :(

are negative reviews the worst thing that can ever happen to authors?

No.

So when I was 21, my dad died suddenly. We were the only ones home and I came downstairs and found him. To this day, any time I hear a crash in another room, my first thought is that someone just dropped dead and I’m about to go and find them. We’re pretty sure it was an embolism or a massive heart attack caused by existing health issues. Later that day, I got a call ON HIS PHONE, from the hospital. When I answered, some dead-voiced woman claiming to be the hospital grief counselor boredly asked me, as though she had better things to do, if I was willing to donate his eyes. She said to make a decision right then because there was a limited window of time before they were no good.

So, write whatever negative reviews you want. I’ll be okay. Negative reviews aren’t even on the scale of worst things that have ever happened to me.
