I feel the sudden urge to apologize for being such a dirty, filthy traitor… :’)
Consider… Silver, free of his narcoleptic curse at long last, being able to choose when he wishes to sleep for the first time ever. And, perhaps borne from an innocent sort of curiosity, he pulls an all-nighter. His family indulges his desire with a lighthearted chuckle, simply content that he no longer has to suffer.
But then one all-nighter becomes two.
Or three.
Or four.
Suddenly, they seldom ever see him in his room. His sheets have grown alarmingly dusty, the skin under his eyes taking on a bruise-like shade of purple. His movements are back to being just as sluggish as before.
Now, consider a Silver who never sleeps until he is physically forced to, his body on the brink of collapsing. He feels as groggy and miserable and terrible as ever—only this time, such a fate has been brought about by his own hand.
…Perhaps he’s grown addicted to pain of it all.

Lilia raising Silver as a pure, innocent being (read: virgin sacrifice) who he will eventually slaughter once he comes of age, forfeiting the last of his magic in a ritual that will exchange the boy’s life for that of Meleanor.
Silver never losing centuries of time… Silver’s birth family never dying… Silver being enlisted in a war before he could even walk… Silver constantly having the softness—that wretched kindness—beaten out of him… Silver sobbing silently over every innocent life he’s taken… Silver only ever knowing Malleus and Lilia at the other end of a sword, five feet apart… Silver growing number, less attached to life with each passing hour… Silver’s parents dying anyway, in an attempt to rekindle their mission’s dwindling fire… Silver eventually giving up, surrendering to the men he never wanted to oppose in the first place… Silver not once begging forgiveness nor mercy, knowing full well the weight of his filthy sins…
Silver, at age 16, dying for a cause he never believed in.
Not a young Silver being so utterly proud of his name—the beautiful, mellifluous epithet that his father took the time to think up and bestow upon his unworthy being—that he is always willing to share it when asked, even taking to volunteering the information first sometimes... only to reap the consequences when the knowledge inevitably falls into the wrong hands...
Silver's "thanks"... or lack thereof??
Taking the idea of not saying "thank you" to fae (seeing as doing so implies either an obligation to reciprocate or that such servitude was expected) and running with it...
From the very start, Lilia instructs Silver to not use such platitudes when expressing gratitude
However, he grows to be a frequent user of the phrase anyway, at least when in the company of his beloved, trusted family members (he's always so genuinely appreciative of them, after all, for their unending patience with him and all his shortcomings)
Lilia and Malleus have a hard time teaching a young Sebek to quit using Silver's... mistakes... against him—he's too brash, too juvenile to understand the limitations of a human body as they do
Prior to being stopped, the younger boy would often take advantage of these implied reciprocities to make his older counterpart abide by "proper fae etiquette" (i.e. not speaking to those of higher social standing until spoken to; staying in his room and keeping out of sight, out of mind; doing his betters' many, many chores...)
Silver slips up in front of an important courtier exactly once... Needless to say, the wealth of bruises and blood he returns with discourages him from taking his father's lessons lightly ever again
Thus, at NRC, Silver's reputation of being cold and distant is only ever reinforced by his refusal to verbally affirm his thankfulness—to this day, he still fears the repercussions of doing so (unless the punishment is doled out by his family, of course, for he'll take whatever measly scraps of attention they give him)
During Lilia and Malleus' meaner moods, when the stress or irritation or some other unfavorable emotion takes hold, all they have to do is wait for their beloved human to once again mess up; thankfully, it never takes more than an hour or two
The harshest punishment they've ever given him comprises an arbitrarily decided number of lashes from his belt, after which he must thank them for their efforts and start the cycle anew...

Reincarnation/Isekai AU inspired by @llondonfog's recent post :D
Basically, Silver reincarnates/isekais as a child into a world in which his parents are still alive, a world in which mankind has successfully dominated all. Knowing all that was revealed to him in his past life (information that is not divulged to him during the present day, so as to keep him sweet and innocent), he is utterly horrified by this disgusting version of reality. Unfortunately, the damage has already been done and by the time he's of age to help, the state of human-fae relations will surely be beyond salvation; thus, he grows up as an extremely suicidal child, burdened with all the guilt and blood and sins of his unrepentant predecessors...
(Later, perhaps, he comes into contact with an extremely vengeful Malleus...)

IdiSil AU in which Ortho goes to RSA and is Silver's underclassman there?? They're in the same club together and Idia meets Silver when picking him up one day and is just. awestruck. by how beautiful he is <3 But he's too shy to talk to him... Thankfully, Silver has no such reservations and greets the other boy upon seeing him.
It would be a very cute and wholesome romance... until they find out they go to rival schools ;)
I think that someone should just. spank Malleus. in a non-sexy way

More specifically, do you think that someone tapped baby!Malleus' tail and it just popped off and both of them started crying and that stupid someone got executed that very same night and—
Silver accidentally extorts people on a regular basis :) The amount of times he's been asked out on dates, agrees, and doesn't realize the implications behind all the free food and gifts and romantic lighting until Lilia starts cackling with glee...
not at all based on a true story that I'm still panicking over FUCK—
I am SO SAD right now and finals don't exist, they can't hurt me, so I need an AU in which Silver actually goes back to the past and is constantly protecting Lilia and Malleus from the shadows.
He uses his family resemblance to his advantage, ordering the human guards to stand down when he can. Soon, rumors start spreading that the Knight of Dawn has been resurrected, which, of course, draws Lilia's attention.
However, Silver doesn't want to be found; so long as he can protect his loved ones and create the perfect world that his father has always envisioned—one where Lilia and Malleus don't have to be separated by the fae Senate, one in which they can be a real family—that would be enough.
(He sees to it that Mallenoa's castle remains untouched, the child within it buried ever deeper, never to be found.)
Essentially: Silver erasing every aspect of his existence while still ensuring the happiness of everyone else.
I want Silver to feel just a little emptier inside after witnessing the hatching of Malleus becoming Lilia's "happiest moment" (according to him, at the very least). It's not quite jealousy—he's too grateful for the occurrence to be truly upset over it—but there's a sinking, treacherous feeling that once again, he's not enough. Unlike the scene of Lilia discovering him, there's so much more joy and triumph that comes from this occasion... No wonder his father couldn't fully break his curse; he's not nearly important enough to warrant that much love.
He doesn't deserve it.
The fact that Lilia became a well-respected general long before he developed his UM speaks to his abilities as a soldier... It also tells us how profoundly his experience with egg!Malleus affected him.

Avatar AU (*Version One...?)
As with the original series, the Fire Nation has expanded its power far beyond its borders—and then some...
Malleus is, of course, the heir to the Fire Nation throne
Lilia is his chief advisor
Sebek comes from a long line of royal guards
Silver, an orphan from the Earth Kingdom, was taken in by Lilia when he was only five
He was recovered during one of the last raids on some now-fallen city that Lilia (unbeknownst to him) was leading, unceremoniously adopted in a guilt-ridden, spur-of-the-moment decision
Only Lilia knows that he is the son of nobility
For the vast majority of their childhood, Malleus, Sebek, and Silver are raised as friends, despite their differences in social status
However, on the eve of Silver's sixteenth birthday, it is suddenly revealed that he is the Avatar (he hadn't even known he could bend!)... and everything goes downhill from there
Malleus is consumed with fear and jealousy—his grandmother has fed him countless stories about the Avatar reemerging one day to rob him of his throne, of his birthright, of the last thing connecting him to his parents... ruining the harmony that their nation has worked so hard to build
He feels betrayed, though rationally, he knows that Silver couldn't have known about it, either
(Just wait until he finds out about Silver's royal heritage...)
Unfortunately, his festering emotions ultimately win out, and he ends up banishing Silver from the palace altogether
Lilia, naturally, leaves with his son—giving Malleus yet another thing to be robbed of
This was only supposed to be a temporary ordeal... but, somehow, a hit has been ordered on Silver, and his former friends (former family) have disappeared from the Fire Nation altogether
And thus begins the search for the Avatar...
