His son died of sickness, redcough, and it just so appears Sheepkit has an autoimmune disorder and a chronic cough-

So river finds him and ends up kitnapping him in an act of manic desperation and anguish, but he does eventually bring him back, instead begging the leader of the opposing clan to allow him to see him. Everyone is shocked about this massive, battle scarred and vicious tom sobbing desperately towards the unknowing kit.
