Danganronpa Despair Time Appreciation Post♥️
There are many people who have said it way better than me, but I wanted to write out my own thoughts.
I think that drdt is a beautiful fangame that has so much creativity and effort put into it. Making a fan series takes a lot of time and can be excruciating stressful. The amount of care that drdt dev and everyone else working on it puts into their work is incredible. It is undeniably charming, with a vibrant cast of characters.
My favorite aspect of despair time is how realistic it is. My biggest issues with games like v3 is that it's a bit farfetched. Every single character in drdt acts like a real person. Teruko is probably the best example of this. Protagonists in the Danganronpa series are usually portrayed as selfless and forgiving figures. Unfortunately, that's not how it often works in the real world. If you were betrayed by someone you deeply trusted, you'd probably be considerably upset and angry. Teruko goes through this twice with both Xander and Min. Though her lines after the first chapter are harsh, it is completely sound. Teruko doesn't magically forgive them, nor does she have to. It seems incredibly cruel at the time, but that is Teruko's mentality; to trust no one, unless you want to be stabbed in the back. It is refreshing to see a morally gray protagonist in the sea of optimism.
My second observation on this is Arei. At the beginning of the series, she was easily my least favorite character. She was rude, passive aggressive, and sometimes downright brutal. However, her development chapter two is what I believe is a character arc done right. She doesn't suddenly become all sunshine and rainbows. Hell, even in her last scene with Eden she still has her usual snark. The reason this works so well is because it is believable. It is true that a common trope in this series is giving someone character development and then killing them. Despite this, I think Arei's arc is perfect the way it is. Not everyone can completely change the person they are to become better. Something else to mention is the reason she acts the way she does. If someone grows up in a hostile environment, it is likely they will become hostile to protect themselves. Arei's actions towards her sisters aren't excused, but they are rather explained. I think this is a very clever and realistic way of writing. (She ended up becoming one of my favorite characters 🙂)
I could go on about how awesome this project is, but I've already said a lot in one post. We are all rooting for you, and we hope you are doing well! No matter what happens to the project, just know that I and so many other people are here to support you.
Emma as various tweets bc I'm losing control of my life

definitely don't have a comfort character noooooo not hyperfixating at all...
I just think they're neat

Two blonde, punny bisexuals whose hair color is actually a dark gray. They then dyed their hair after overcoming something traumatic, and they both befriended the intelligent yet antisocial member of the killing game.
No actual connections or theories I just want them to be friends.

So I know how HakoMaku became a thing(created by weightedblankettt tysm it is adorable, and I have joined the madness.) So I started thinking, there's so much potential for other SDRA2 x DRDT crossover ships. So, straight from my little rat brain, I present to you this.

Shipping two of a my favorite characters together? No...no way...
Anyways, I present to you JEmma, or "Stage Tech" as I like to call it.
