Ran was feeling so lazy today that he couldn't even bring himself to make a sandwich for himself. So he decided on going through the fridge, that included the freezer.

"I cant believe that she has frozen this muc vegetables and meat...is that...grass?" He mumbled in shock.

He continued on rummaging through the freezer. He's had a really busy day yesterday and now today he just wanted to lay down on the couch while eating something.

He also didn't wanna nag Y/n to make food.

She had an important meeting hence the reason she's been working all day.

As he got close to giving up and calling Rindou to get him something he came across to an ice cream tube.

"Oh my goodddddd" he whisper/screeched. "It's my favorite! Oh, Ran, you're a lucky son of a bitch."

He somehow, magically got the ice cream tube out of the freezer which was full to its brim.

Trying not to make much noise (he didn't wanna disturb Y/n or get scolded for eating ice cream with an empty stomach) as he got himself a spoon and opened the tube.

He dived his spoon in without checking only to get the spoon stuck in something icy and frozen into a... weird yellow / brownish color.

Scrunching his face he started to wonder if it was... rotten? Spoilt?

Could ice cream get spoilt or rot? Maybe it was a side effect of being frozen for too long?

"I mean... worst scenario I'll get sick..." he shrugged, "I'm gonna eat it anyways."

Tasting the weird frozen substance Ran felt like gagging.

"What the fuc-" he managed with his mouth full of 'ice cream'.

"Ran are you eating... chicken broth?"

With the sudden voice of Y/n Ran jumped in a comedic way.

"The what-"

"Chicken broth." Y/n deadpanned. "You thought it was ice cream didn't you?"

"Uhhh..."

Y/n wacked his head, "I told you not to eat ice cream with an empty stomach didn't I?" She crossed her arms. "Now this is your punishment."

"Why would you keep chicken broth in freezer anyways?" He cried. "Just buy a canned one when you'll use it."

"What else do you expect me to add to rice or bulgur pilavı? You think canned broth tastes as good as homemade ones? Well they do not and they're unhealthy."

"Oh... but this still doesn't explain the grass."

"Ran salak mısın? Arap saçı ve Isırgan otu onlar!!!"

Thus... he got chased with a... slipper.

summary: y/n decides to surprise ran with a birthday cake and a surprise party and rin gets to be a part of the plan.

Rindou had no idea how he was dragged into this plan, sure he wanted to surprise his brother and make him happy but he didn't think he'd have to spend this much effort on it.

In fact if he knew it would be this hard he'd just buy a cake and throw a birthday party in his honor.

But his dear friend had another idea of theirs, Y/n and the Haitanis have been friends for decades now. They had met in a playground when they were kids and as they grew up Y/n and Ran got closer to each other. Even Rindou had sensed it before the two could accept it themselves.

"-I think I should marry Y/n," Ran continued on his reasons to marry his bestfriend. "They're the most perfect person in this world!"

Rindou felt as if he'd see hearts in his elder brother's eyes if he turned to look at him.

"Mhm, I know, you've been telling that ever since middle school nii-san..." not even bothering to look at his brother Rindou turned his gaze to his phone in order to see if Y/n had finished baking the cake.

It's been 7 hours and Rindou was close to strangle his brother for him to shut up, whatever they would talk about Ran was always bringing up Y/n into it.

Don't get me wrong, Rindou loved his bestfriend, Y/n was one of his two most important people and the fact that both of his loved ones were together brought him joy. He wanted to see his brother happy after all those years. He had always looked after Rindou, he was the parent they never really had. Ran had sacrificed a lot for his sake and Rindou had always been gracious for that but he felt like it was Ran's time to be happy instead.

As Ran kept on babbling about how Y/n did whatever that was so cute, Rindou tried to give his best on listening.

"But you know what? I'm so grateful for you guys, if it weren't for you two I don't think I could've lived y'know?" Ran confessed.

Surprised by the sudden extra affection from his elder brother, Rindou blinked,

"That was... sudden. Why if I may ask?"

Ran sighed,

"I'm not an...easy person, I know that, but whatever happens you guys are always there for me. You two bring me strength. I hate being sappy but it's the truth, and I feel like I don't give enough credits to you." He glanced at another ring. "That's why I want to keep you both close by, I don't think I could ever continue on without you two..."

Rindou blushed as he felt proud and loved, being the thunder he is, he turned his head,

"I swear Y/n poisoned you or something with their weird ass cooking,"

"Oi," Ran flicked his temple playfully. "Don't be such a dickhead to your soon to be in law Rin-Rin."

Rolling his amethyst eyes he responded curtly, "There's no way for me to be soft to them, they're my bestfriend and that draws a line."

Ran chuckled in response knowing their sibling like friendship.

Ever since he's been introduced to the idea of marriage and partnership he has always wanted his brother and partner to get along well, cause who wouldn't want two important people in their life to get along well?

As Rindou dragged him to his car after receiving a text from Y/n about them finishing baking the cake and Ran FINALLY picking a ring.

Ran grinned,

"Also I know you two are planning a surprise birthday party and Y/n's probably been trying to bake for hours, they also probably couldn't do it at once and panicked to make it perfect thus burned a few cakes... I appreciate the effort though."

Rindou sent him a glare,

"At least act surprised for them."

"Oh, I will, I will!" He was enjoying this too much. "But I think they will be more surprised then my act when I propose tonight."

Rindou facepalmed.
