What is a Big Bang?

In short, a Big Bang is an event that pairs artists and writers together to create collaborative works for a series. Writers begin by signing up to write a fic of a certain length and submitting a summary of their story. Artists will then be able to claim a fic they want to illustrate based only on the blind summary without knowing the identity of the author. The writers have a deadline to finish their full stories, meanwhile artists make their accompanying piece based off a draft or a completed version of the fic they picked. Both works are then posted on a set date simultaneously for the world to see!

I’ve participated in Big Bangs for other media in the past, and I feel like this could be a really cool and fun event for all the Sonic artists and writers here on Tumblr (and maybe Twitter too?). So I’m curious, what do y’all think?
