✦ ARTSTYLE / SPRITES UPDATE!
Hello folks! ⭐
A new work week begins, and that means our first official update about our new sprites is here! We've been gathering feedback from you here on tumblr, our official discord server, instagram and tiktok, and we've made some changes to the sprites that we hope satisfy the vast majority of you. First of all, thank you all so so much again and again for your feedback and for the time you are dedicating on helping us! It has been truly unvaluable for us as we try to navigate this change with as much care as possible and respecting our supporters' opinion.
So, let's jump into it! ✦ GAEL
✦ IMPLEMENTED FEEDBACK:
—His face has been edited to better represent his features as some of them had become lost in the first version. You'll notice the shape of his jaw, cheekbones, nose, and eyebrows, as well as his lips, have been worked on to correctly characterize him. —Added a bit more shine to his eyes —Lighted up his cloak and added more golden details —Lowered his cummerbund / corset so his ribcage actually is able to move (poor man) —Reverted to Daddy Long Legs Classy Pants because we didn't think the new mix of tight pants + knee-high boots suited his personality. He is a demure man. ✦ XAL
So, Xal's going to be a bit harder than Gael as both Raquel and I (as writer and artist) think our vision of Xal has changed a bit since we started working on the demo, design-wise. We are trying to keep as many features / details from his original face into his new one (and of course we want to keep the essence of the old design), but it's true that we want something a bit more different for him and this new version may be it. So let us know your thoughts!
✦ IMPLEMENTED FEEDBACK: — Recovered some of Xal's key features as they had gotten lost during the development of the new sprite. The arch of his nose has been edited as well as the shape of his lips and the shape of his chin and cheek. — His eyebrows are now thicker as they were in his original design — The choker and the anti tragus piercing are back! — Lighted up his jacket and the cushioned part of it, not to the point of the previous design as we want to do some more trial and error with that — Made the marks on his jacket more white / more visible! — Made the undertone of his skin more pinkish
