One Thing To Consider For All Parties Is That The Time Spent Here In Thay- Or On Any Server, MMO, Online
One thing to consider for all parties is that the time spent here in Thay- or on any server, MMO, online system- is a gift. Somewhere in the world, there is a person taking time out of their day to sit down and interact with you, using this game as a medium to do so. These individuals are spending their free time- time that is set aside for their hobby, their enjoyment- interacting with you and the game world. This is not a right we have as roleplayers/gamers; this is a gift we give to each other. We participate in each others’ stories; we offer our characters to flavour each others’ experience. The spirit of interactive roleplaying is that we are cowriting a story for mutual enjoyment; we are giving each other the gift of time, energy, creativity and understanding.

Rata Sum
When Aell had told her he was leaving town for a while on business, she had asked what kind. He was evasive, deliberately vague. The lack of trust there stung a bit, but Milli accepted it. She didn't know the ins and outs of his dealings, some of which was for her protection.
And after they made love that last night before he left, he told her again, "Sex doesn't mean love. You know I'll always come back to you."
She nodded, knowing he would and hugging him tight. He'd told her sometimes he needed to sleep with women to work his magic in getting into their treasure troves of riches. But he promised she was always first. The one he loved.
Tonight, he added something else, though. "And if you wanted to sleep with someone else, I wouldn't be upset," he said gently. "It's not fair to you if I can and you can't."
At the time, she had thought he was just being fair-minded, maybe even a little guilty because of her acceptance of his indiscretions.
A few days later, Lord Valec Nemesir showed up on her doorstep, a note in Aellarian's hand introducing him as a guardian for her. It seemed a ridiculous precaution, but Milli allowed it. She'd had a guardian before. But not one who'd seemed to know her so well. Who treated her like the most precious and delicate piece of art, looking after her and caring for her deeply.
He took her to bed that night, reminding her of Aell's wording in the note: all your needs. He made her feel good, more than good. And she slept better than she had in a long time.
For even though she loved Aellarian, there was a mistrust between them that was hard to bridge. His pranks had gone from silly and childish to startlingly hurtful, things that damaged her heart. And though he'd apologized when she called him on it, there was a part of her just waiting for him to come tell her one day that he was done. One day when it wouldn't be a joke. And deep inside, Milli was trying to prepare herself for that eventuality.
Valec's strong arms, his unqualified promises, gave her hope that even if Aell didn't want her, it was possible someone else would.
It didn't take much convincing to get her to agree to a vacation to Rata Sum for a few days, to get away from the dangers that had crept up on her lately.
And once there, Valec had coaxed a confession from her, that her feelings for him were more than mere gratitude. Milli had always given her heart away too easily. But this time, it seemed he had known exactly what to say and do that would draw her in. But still, she felt guilty. She'd promised Aellarian.
And that was when Valec revealed all. Aellarian, despite his love for her, could see she needed more than he could give. And so he'd spoken to his friend Valec, a man whose strong arms, protective nature, and expansive heart were more than Aell could provide her. Aell had told Valec about her, every detail.
"I was in love with you before I even set foot in your shop," Valec told her, the words stealing her breath.
And so Aell's claim came full circle. He'd given her permission, then placed a man in her way so as to be irresistible to her. She didn't consider that it might be yet another test, a means to test her loyalty to him. Because if it was, the joke was likely to be on him.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

Honestly, with the amount of people defending and attacking the stupid GW2notes thing, I'm hoping that it gets hacked and defaced so everyone only talks about how it was vandalized, and everyone is united through another person's suffering. Because watching everyone spew anger over it and then people defending what is essentially a circle jerk (Yes, it is one. I've read it. No sense saying that it isn't) is a waste of so much time.
While I fully support KasJory, I think maybe the question is more, 'Why can't I get my characters to do that?' than, 'Why would those two characters do that?'
At least that's how I'm gonna read it ;).
how are those two characters kissing in that gw2 screenshot w/ jory?
its in the fabulous cutscene from the new update c:
She somehow managed to doze off, even with the disgusting things attached to her chest. Valec's soft voice penetrated her sleep, though, and slowly roused her.
"I'm not sure if there will be pain upon removal," he ways saying.
"Why did you allow him to do this in the first place?" Virgil replied. "This is...truly barbaric."
Milli blinked open her eyes, looking up at Valec, then his butler, sleepily. "Is it time?" she asked.
"She trusts the man," Valec explained to Virgil. Then he smoothed the hair back from Milli's forehead. "Yes, my dear. It's time. Did you get any rest?"
She nodded, asking quickly, "Are any of them dead? He said it was a good sign if they died."
"One seems to have expired, my lady," Virgil said, nudging the leech with a metal implement.
Valec smiled at her. "So maybe this will help."
Virgil arched a brow but said nothing. "I've removed leeches before, usually from young lads tromping through the swamp without thinking. I can take care of it, my lord."
Milli met Valec's eyes and nodded, gripping her fiance's hand.
Beginning with the dead one, Virgil popped free the four gelatinous, black blobs, each full to bursting with her blood and deposited them unceremoniously into a wash basin at his feet. He then quickly wiped the four punctures with alcohol.
"Blackvale said she should drink some salt water," Valec said, crawling into bed and pulling Milli into his arms.
"I'll bring some at once, my lord," Virgil said, leaning down to collect the basin. "And I do hope the therapy helped, my lady," he said with a concerned tone.
Milli smiled at him. "Thank you, Virgil."
Once they were alone, Valec pulled the quilt over them, a warm cocoon that let her body relax and her mind drift again. "Do you feel any better?" he asked quietly.
"Sleepy," she replied, "still tired."
Valec nodded. "Probably the blood loss. Sleep, if you need to. I'll be here."
"I know," she said. snuggling against his chest. "I know."
