Whenever Steve's in a stressful situation, he mutters "You've got this, big boy." to himself. Eddie hears him say it one day while Steve is doing god knows what in the kitchen. It makes him smile so hard his face hurts. It fills him to the brim with glee knowing that Steve uses the silly pet name as a way to motivate himself. It makes him want to run laps around the house and scream his love for Steve from the rooftop. He settles for standing in the kitchen doorway to watch Steve struggle to open the pickle jar.
