Fibern pronounces it like the salad, but only because it’s habit and he can’t correct it for his life.

Not that he would ever want to correct it.

What I wish was talked about more was the every-day-ness of the wasteland. As you galavant around doing quests and stuff I wanna know more about the people. We get stuff already through notes and such but I like more of that stuff cuz it makes the world feel a bit more lived in.

Kinda connected to what I said above but: something that “irks” me and keeps me up at night is the scary familiarity of the west coast games + how that decays. This is probably because I grew up on the west coast but whenever I think about those games I get really existential sometimes. It’s a weird mix of “I can exactly feel how my protag is feeling right now standing out in the hot desert” and “oh my god everything is gone”. <— it’s not exactly like this but this is as close as I can get ( “oo).

Anyways the decay stuff really gets to me when I think about New Vegas in particular because canonically all your companions go their separate ways after the game ends. I know it’s for good reason and a lot of them I’d urge them to go but man does it break my heart sometimes (I am a found family trope enjoyer). I guess the feeling of “ah yes some great thing, but only for a moment in time and memory” thing really gets to me. A big splash of color before the sands of the wasteland wash over it.

Anyways yeah my little brain thoughts :))))

It was only so long until I drew my forgetful courier. This is Fibern. I think making their scar dumb and noticeable is funny. But because of the injury he doesn’t remember a lot of things from before. Not necessarily dumb, just a really confused dude, give him a minute to recollect himself. Also the biggest fan of laser weapons, only uses a laser rifle and hoards micro fusion cells.

I know I said I would explain my courier’s relationship with my self-insert, but this is basically what it is:

Fibern is Finn’s cousin turned parental guardian. But Fibern couldn’t entirely recall Finn’s existence after Benny tried to unalive him.

They’re name is Finn and is a prospector born in Westside but now wanders around the Mojave for better scrap. Their pre-war frog hat was found and gifted to them by my courier oc. I’ll explain their relationship more when I introduce him.
