Swimmin’ In Sinners (yg x hs) ||+18||

{one-shot +3 parts}
•Notes•
Pairing: Criminal Yoongi x Police Officer Hoseok
Genre: eventual smut, teasing, bickering, slight fluff
Summary: In the 1930s with the Prohibition Act in full effect, Min Yoongi, the owner of a local speakeasy settled in the heart of New York is barely able to make ends meet. But when the appearance of a mysterious and alluring police officer comes to shut down his bar, will Yoongi have to face the federal consequences of his actions, or will this sinner be able to swim in his desires?
Part 1 word count: 1,762
A/N: enjoy! No warnings apply to this!
Parts: one, two, three
-`ღ´- ~~~~~~~ ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧~~~~~~~ -`ღ´-
Act One
The new decade brought in by the 1930s and ruled by Herbert Hoover for the second term was one of innovation. Clothing was changing: girls' waists were cinched and men’s hats were getting bigger and Hollywood had become a staple in the media and global influence. But for most, the 1930s was a time for rolling up their sleeves and getting to work after the ramifications of the market crash affected almost every household.
But for Min Yoongi, the 1930s meant a bad omen for his speakeasy. Even before prohibition, Yoongi had enough to worry about with the feds breathing down his alley and getting enough supplies to keep the business afloat. But once prohibition was passed everything was raised “to all hell.”
“Ah, but we’re doing alright, ain’t we?”
Yoongi rolled his eyes as he counted the money he made for the night. The dim lights did little to help him but his eyes had become accustomed to the stuffy dark atmosphere and still easily counted the bills stuffed in his hand. “If being $20 short is ‘alright’ to you then, yeah. We’re doing just fine, Taehyung.”
“Relax, will you? We’ll make it up.” Taehyung answered from the barstool in front of Yoongi. A bright glimmer shot across his almond-shaped eyes as his voice perked up in anticipation, “how’s about I go up on stage again? The crowd loved it last time and I’ve been rehearsing.”
A small smirk graced Yoongi’s lips at the thought of a hopeful Taehyung bouncing onto the stage to sing one of his favorite jazz songs. “As much I’d love for you to showcase your talent, I need you behind the bar.”
Taehyung’s smile didn’t diminish as he quipped readily, “Jungkook can handle it! I’ve been teaching him-”
“-Not with my supplies I hope.”
“Of course not, he’s been practicing at my place. He’s a pretty quick learner, Yoongi. I’m sure if you gave him a chance he could be more than a busboy!”
The urgency in Taehyung’s usually relaxed tone caught Yoongi’s eye as he put the cash he made into a white envelope. He rested his gaze upon the younger man in front of him, he was dashing with his chestnut swept-back hair and pink tongue darting out to lick his lips in anticipation.
“You’re really gunning for Jungkook, aren’t ya?”
Taehyung nodded vehemently, causing Yoongi to sigh. Even with it being the 1930s Taehyung had been upfront about his sexuality ever since the two had met and Yoongi was fine with it, being gay never affected Taehyung’s performance as a bartender and so he didn't make a big fuss over it. What did irritate Yoongi, was when Taehyung’s weekly crushes would distract him from his priorities and this week’s crush on the newly hired fresh-faced busboy from Missouri was beginning to rear its ugly head.
Yoongi always joked about Taehyung’s naive heart, who would always claim he had found the love of his life only to get bored and move on. Yoongi figured it would take a few more years for Taehyung to truly understand what love was, so for now, Yoongi let him carry on with his antics. But ever since Jungkook flashed his youthful smile Taehyung had been completely driven to have Yoongi promote him to a higher position. And unfortunately, Taehyung was a great persuader and a damn good bartender. At least good enough for Yoongi to trust him.
“You’re sure he can handle it?”
Taehyung nodded again, the smile on his lips widening as Yoongi hung his head to face the glossed wooden bar counter before lifting it to face his friend.
“One night. If he screws it up he’s back on dish duty, Taehyung.”
The younger man practically leaped out of his seat as he clamored over the counter to enwrap Yoongi into a tight hug before darting out of the room to presumably tell his crush the good news, leaving Yoongi alone to shake his head and finish cleaning the bar on his own.
As the man grabbed a dirty white rag from under the counter and began wiping down the countertops, memories of past lovers floated through his head. When he was young, ambitious, and free of crime (well most crime) Yoongi dabbled in the dating scene, leaving hearts behind and having his abandoned as well. Youth is a time for exploration, a blank canvas ready for the strokes of colorful paint to define it and that’s exactly what Yoongi did.
He couldn’t say he was mad at Taehyung for wanting to do the same (even if it was more impassioned) as when the nights were cold and Yoongi’s bed seemed especially empty, he couldn’t help but picture someone there to assuage his desires and put his neglected body at ease and send him down a river of nirvana.
Yoongi huffed a despondent puff of air as he finished up his daily routine of cleaning up the speakeasy before heading up to his apartment above the bar to sleep in a bed made much too large for one person.

“Face it, Jung. Chief’s gonna fire ya.”
Jung Hoseok, who had barely any time to himself, was now dealing with the foolishness of his colleague who interrupted the one break the man had gotten all day.
With a tired sigh, Hoseok put his turkey sandwich down before gazing to look at his friend who sat across from him at his desk. A look of disheartened sadness was painted across his striking face.
“What’re you going on about now, Namjoon?”
“It’s not me you should be worried about. It’s the Chief.” Namjoon gestured over his shoulder to the Chief’s office whose blinds obstructed the view inside. “Told me to send you to his office after your break.”
Hoseok sighed as a small smile graced his lips, “well if he called me my break must be over then. I’ll see you on the other side.”
“I hope not!” Hoseok heard his friend call back to him as he made his way to the office.
He was sure Namjoon was just being dramatic as usual but figured coming in with a cautious and formal attitude would be a great start to a potential firing. As if the job market wasn’t already scarce, finding another would be damn near impossible with the economy the country was hassled in right now.
As Hoseok made his way to the door he went over all the possible things he may have done wrong. Was it when he screwed up that parking ticket? Or when he was scolded for being late (on account of Namjoon’s car breaking down), or for forgetting his badge when on patrol?
Soon the door to the office swung open after Hoseok knocked gently on it to be greeted by his Chief, a small smile plastered on his face.
“Jung, come in, have a seat. There are some things I need to discuss with you.” Hoseok did as he was told while the older man sat across from him at his desk that was adorned in family photos and awards. The smell of jet black coffee permeated the night air as the Chief continued talking, “you’ve been doing good the past few weeks, Jung. You’re a great officer.”
“Thank you, sir.”
“With all this mess going on with the economy people seemed to have lost their doggone minds.” The Chief commented, disbelief clear in his tone as he shook his head.
“Times are hard, sir.”
The man nodded, “yes, they are. Especially with this prohibition act. It seems coffee just isn’t the best substitute for the good stuff, you see?” He flashed a smile as a faint laugh escaped his mustache-covered lips.
Hoseok replied with a polite laugh of his own, but a life without alcohol sure as hell wasn’t a laughing matter when you spend all day filing paperwork and chasing criminals only to come home with nothing to take the stress off.
The Chief sighed as a sad smile graced his lips before he looked at Hoseok. A glimmer of something indiscernible in his eye, a sign that he was now getting down to business. “I didn’t call you in here just to bump gums with you but to actually assign you to something. Goes along with the prohibition actually.”
Hoseok nodded and leaned in slightly in his chair as the older man pulled out a manila folder from his desk and handed it over to Hoseok, “the federal government wants to crack down on speakeasies. Apparently, they’ve been popping up all over the country but especially in the apple. And as the NYPD, we gotta uphold the government's wishes.”
Hoseok tentatively listened until his eyes snagged onto something in the folder before he glanced up at the older man, “uh Chief? It says here that we’re-”
“-On a payroll? Yeah, we’ve been protecting some of the speakeasies, under the radar of course. They supply alcohol to some important people, Jung. But with the government breathing down our backs we’re going to have to close a few of them. We’ll take down some of the bigger names to set an example and leave a few of them to survive under our watch.”
Hoseok wasn’t paid to preach his morals, he was paid to do a job. So even with the corruption of the system that prided itself on justice, Hoseok simply nodded as the Chief began running down a list of extra information included in the folder before sending him away.
“So… when’s your last day?” Namjoon asked once Hoseok settled himself back into his seat and picked his sandwich up nonchalantly.
“You’re such a crumb, Namjoon. I should’ve known better than to trust a clown like you.” Hoseok chuckled before taking a glorious bite of his sandwich.
“What? Whaddya mean? I heard that-”
“You heard nothing so stop telling a story. I wasn’t fired.”
“You weren’t?”
Hoseok shook his head as a confused Namjoon slowly descended into his chair, a mix of happiness and confusion written over his face.
“So if he didn’t call you to fire you, what did he want?”
Hoseok offered his friend a small smirk and lift of his eyebrows before swallowing a bite of his food, “he gave me an assignment.”
Namjoon cocked an eyebrow as he leaned forward cautiously as if distrusting his friend's sudden smile, “what assignment?”
Hoseok flashed a full smile before leaning his head back on his chair and declaring with a light tone, “we, my friend, are going to take down New York’s biggest speakeasies.”

Of all the things to happen tonight, this wasn’t on the list of impulses Nari thought she’d be acting on.
“Is the door locked?” she gasps as his lips trail down her jaw.
In response, Seokjin walks her backwards until her back touches the door. One hand gripping her waist, he reaches to touch the lock with the other, mouth still on her neck. “Yeah, we’re good.”
“Okay, then,” she murmurs hurriedly, pushing him back by the shoulders further into the dark on-call room, with nothing but the moonlight through the window illuminating their illicit activities.
Their clothes are off without fuss; it’s almost as if Seokjin wasn’t stopping by the hospital just to return the backpack she’d left at his house yesterday. The way their lips find each other every time, the way they’re of an almost equal height every step of the way - it makes no sense that they would succumb to this again if not for the fact that it simply had to happen sometime. No, their actions are too quick, too familiar, to the point where Nari feels like his fingers are the only ones that have ever been inside of her.
It’s just enough to check how wet she is. “M-m, I can’t,” she whines softly, her back arching slightly on the bed as his thick hair tickles her breasts. His lips are soft on her ribcage, his fingers slow yet firm on her clit.
Seokjin looks up at her words, his fingers freezing for a second. “What?” he asks hurriedly.
She shakes her head and pulls him up for another kiss, and his fingers resume their work. Her knees bend of their own accord, her hands feel his slender torso on hers as she moves her legs to allow him to settle comfortably in between them. Without breaking the kiss, Nari reaches for his erection, stiff against the inside of her thigh.
“Fuck,” he groans softly, removing his fingers instantly and nudging her legs further apart, his tip touching her core tantalizingly.
“Come on,” she murmurs, raising her hips slightly. “I need to get back to the ER before anyone notices I’m gone.”
“Yeah, okay,” he replies, kissing her again before positioning himself. “Wait.”
“What?”
Seokjin swallows and, if she’s not mistaken, blushes slightly. “I don’t - I don’t have a condom. Do you?” he asks after a moment.
Nari blinks. “Um… no. You - you don’t have one?”
“No. I don’t carry one around in my wallet, you know?”
“Seriously?” she whispers, propping herself up on her elbows. “Why did we - how -”
“I’m sure we can get one. Isn’t this a hospital?”
She gives him a look. “We don’t have bowls of free condoms outside on-call rooms, Seokjin.”
“Okay.” There’s a pause as they both consider this. Then he looks up at her again. “I can… pull out. If that’s alright?”
Nari raises her eyebrows. “Yeah?” she asks hopefully.
His plush lips curve into a small smile. “Yeah. I can pull out, I think.”
“You think?”
“No, I - I know I can. I can,” he repeats, sounding slightly more confident. “I can. I will, I promise.”
She nods jerkily. “Okay. Alright, then,” she agrees, tilting her head up and capturing his lips in hers again as she falls back on the bed. “Now where were we?”
Sex with Seokjin this time has none of the hesitancy it did the last time. If anything, it has urgency. Desperation. While part of that could be attributed to how they should absolutely not be in here, especially since he doesn’t even work at the hospital, the rest of it seems to be dominated purely by impulse. As Nari feels him inside her, feels this elusive yet familiar touch for the first time in nearly a year, her mind goes blank, trying only to capture as many of the endorphins from this brief sexual encounter as it can before she returns to real life.
Their sounds are soft, thankfully. Even when Nari finishes, her moans muffled against his shoulder, she doesn’t think it would be audible outside this room. Her eyes flutter open as she catches her breath, taking in Seokjin’s perfectly crafted silhouette, the moonlight highlighting his jawline. A lock of his hair falls into his eyes as he moves in rhythm, eyes squeezing shut and head thrown back as he goes faster. Nari touches it gently, watching his fingers run through the strands like water, feeling him deep, deep inside her. She closes her eyes again when he pulls her closer by the thigh, his grunts in tandem.
She hears him groan softly before feeling warm spurts on her abdomen. She registers the cool, empty feeling as she opens her eyes, just in time for him to press a kiss to her lips.
“That was amazing,” he sighs, rolling off her and onto his back beside her. Nari shifts to make room for him on the narrow cot, sitting up slightly and reaching half-blindly for a tissue box she’d spotted when they’d first stumbled into this room.
“Yeah, it was,” she murmurs honestly, the tingle from her orgasm still not fully gone. She wipes herself down and chucks the soiled tissue across the small room, watching it bounce against the rim of the dustbin and fall to the ground. Too weak in the knees to care, she lies back down.
Neither of them says anything for a few seconds, the aftereffects of their spontaneous act slowly settling down like dust. Nari can hear his heavy breathing next to her, every breath getting slower and steadier as he comes down from his high. She wonders momentarily if it would be strange for her to curl into his side.
It would, she decides a moment later. All this happened because she’d been whining and complaining to Seokjin about how stressed she was - enough, apparently, that he felt the need to kiss her in a deserted corridor to shut her up. It was hasty and messy, and despite how it undoubtedly helped take away some of her temporary stress, cuddling was nowhere in the implicit agreement.
“Shit.”
Seokjin’s voice breaks her out of her reverie. Something seems to have just occurred to him.
They weren’t supposed to do this again; it wouldn’t be surprising if he regrets it already. None of it was planned: not his visit, not her relief at seeing his perfect face in a sea of exhausted doctors, not the mutual impulse of having a quickie in an on-call room. Nari recalls the moment of doubt they had fifteen minutes ago, an ominous sign that they were not ready for this, and her chest contracts in panic.
“What?” she asks gingerly.
He sighs, and she feels his fingers brush hers. She sees him shake his head slightly.
“I forgot your charger.”
—
It’s early evening when Seokjin sets off for Shin Hyeri’s house. It’s not just she who lives there, though; apparently it’s home to no less than four of the doctors who work at the hospital, making it the most common location for a night of drinks with Nari’s resident class.
Nari had invited him weeks ago, begging him to join. I want you to meet my friends - my other friends, Kimbap, she’d said. Plus, it’s a Taboo night. You know you want to.
He does want to. There are so many things he feels he wants right now, but he can’t put his finger on a single one. The resulting confusion, combined with the low hum of anxiety at having to meet a dozen new people, along with the fact that he hasn’t spoken to Nari since their tryst from last night, makes Seokjin certain with each step that he’d rather sit this night out.
He was ready to, in all honesty. Nari hadn’t mentioned this plan after he’d accepted her invite, and he was starting to think she’d forgotten altogether. He would’ve asked, but they’d separated rather quickly last night. They stumbled out of the on-call room in a haze of pheromones and the vaguely mischievous feeling of getting away with something, straightening their clothes and fixing their hair. They walked in silence till the end of the corridor, beyond which was the chaotic ER.
Nari turned to him, her face flushed. Seokjin was sure it was the after-effects of a spontaneous quickie, but he was suddenly aware of how genuinely pretty his best friend was.
“You know I didn’t plan -” She broke off, biting her lip. She was trying to suppress a smile as she shook her head, as though sharing an awkward joke.
Seokjin knew what she meant. “I know,” he said. “I didn’t either.”
There didn’t seem to be a need to say anything else. Seokjin, at least, had no desire at the time to dissect his feelings about it and it didn’t seem that Nari had the time to. A pained scream sounded in the ER just then, terribly incongruous to Nari’s comforting, familiar, female form, a sound that made his insides curl up in fear.
Nari whipped around at the sound before sighing. “I really need to -” She pointed to the door, already taking a step back. “I’m sorry. Thanks for - thanks for coming. I mean, not like that,” she amended, groaning when he chuckled.
“Careful, Nari. You may be having a k-drama moment right now.”
As expected, she screwed up her face in mock-disgust. “Never.”
Seokjin grinned. “I’ll send your charger to the hospital in the morning,” he promised, watching her face break out into a relieved smile before she turned around to go save a life.
The only reason Seokjin even remembered this plan at Hyeri’s house was because it was the day before he had to leave for Yeongam. After last night, he may have avoided it entirely had it not been a hasty text from Nari this morning, reminding him.
You’re still coming to Hyeri’s tonight right? There’s Baileys and charades.
It’s not the prospect of coffee liqueur or a strangely competitive game that spurs Seokjin to go; it’s the fact that once he received her message, he realised he’d been expecting it all along.
While the previous night was not uncomfortable in any way, he respects the fact that she seems to go on normally after it, which encourages him - and makes it clear to him that he will not be the one to shake their retained normality. The text, the invite - all of it points to last night being spur of the moment and everything carrying on normally.
Seokjin checks his phone for the map to see that he’s less than a minute away from Hyeri’s. He’d opted to walk; the weather was pleasant and, besides, he felt he could use this time to prepare for an entire evening spent with people he doesn’t know - apart from Nari.
Once he reaches, he contemplates texting Nari to open the door. Ringing the doorbell would attract attention, he feels, but before he can make a decision, the door swings open to reveal a girl in mid-conversation with someone inside the house.
“- and some more ice,” she calls before turning around and seeing Seokjin. Her business-like face goes slack and she gulps. “Um…” Her gaze pans slowly over his form, as though he’s a different species and not, perhaps, a guest she might not be expecting. “... wow.”
Seokjin raises his eyebrows blankly before a sudden panic sets in: he’s at the wrong house.
“Oh, I - sorry -”
The girl seems to be just about registering him when a familiar figure comes into view, making his heart skip a reassuring beat. “Seokjin!” Nari exclaims, sounding relieved. She jogs to the door and beckons him to enter before turning to the other girl.
“Daeun, this is Seokjin,” she says, pulling him inside gently by the arm and reaching automatically for the wine bottle in his hands.
“Hi,” he says, following Nari’s lead, “I’m -”
“Oh, you’re Seokjin,” she interrupts, her face awash with understanding. It occurs a little belatedly to Seokjin that he is, in fact, famous but then Daeun continues. “We’ve heard a lot about you,” she says knowingly before turning back in the direction of the living room.
“Everyone - Seokjin is here!” As he resists the urge to shush her hurriedly, she pats his shoulder and starts walking to the door again. “I’m just going out for a few supplies. Nice to finally meet Nari’s best friend,” she adds, giving him a friendly wink before shutting the door behind her.
There’s a moment of silence during which he simply stares at Nari, feeling a rush of heat in his face. Nari bites her lip before snorting. “Sorry, Kimbap,” she says finally, squeezing his shoulders and leading him inside. “Daeun usually isn’t the first person we send out to greet someone new.”
Can’t imagine why. But Seokjin doesn’t want to start the evening off by alienating her friends, so he simply shrugs and follows her. There are about ten other people in the room, all in the age range of twenty-five to thirty-five. Nari introduces them all one by one and Seokjin promptly forgets each as soon as he hears them. The only people he registers are a plump, dimpled man with glasses who seems to be fiddling with an empty cigarette pack; a tall girl in a pale pink blazer with a glass of wine in her hand, who raises a hand in greeting when introduced; and Kwon Jason, the only other person in this room he’s met before.
“We’ve heard a lot about you,” says Jason, as everyone settles back down with their drinks, conversation resuming seamlessly. “Nari’s best friend, with the jajjangmyeon,” he adds, nodding towards her. She clicks her tongue and pretends to be annoyed, even as she takes a seat next to him on the sofa.
Seokjin chuckles, feeling a pleasant lightness in his stomach. “Not the worst thing to be known for.”
“He also has a really good wine selection in his house,” points out Nari, patting his shoulder. “The bottle he brought is probably from it.” She turns to Seokjin. “Right?”
He’s about to nod when Jason snickers. “Let’s not pretend you’re too discerning about the quality of alcohol you drink, Nari.”
Nari gasps while another one of the guys, whose name Seokjin cannot remember for the life of him, nods in agreement. “If anyone is okay with whatever is on the menu at Minho’s Bar, it’s Dr Choi,” he agrees, saying her name in a low, Satoori accent.
“Oi, I’m Minho’s favourite customer, I’ll have you know.”
“Obviously. You’re the reason he never has leftover inventory.”
A few people laugh at that, including Seokjin, while Nari scoffs and shakes her head, apparently lost for words.
“Nari’s right, though,” says Jason seriously after a moment. “It’s probably why she gets so many shots on the house, too.”
She retorts with something and the conversation continues with ease, while Seokjin frowns at how Jason just said Nari’s name. He can’t quite put his finger on it, but it’s different from how everyone else is saying it for certain. Maybe it’s an accent? His first name is Jason after all; maybe he’s half-foreign? Based on his slightly accented Korean, he could be American. Seokjin tries to recall how Kaya says Nari’s name, but the moment he does, he can’t think of a single such scenario.
It takes a few impatient taps on his shoulder for Seokjin to pull himself out of this train of thought. “You want a drink?” Nari asks him, eyebrows raised.
“Yeah, sure.” Seokjin stands up and follows her to the kitchen where fortunately they are the only ones. “Wow, that’s a lot of people in there.”
Nari chuckles, going around the small kitchen island towards the pile of bottles with ease, as though she’s been here a hundred times before. “Yeah, it’s the first night in forever that none of us are on call. That’s why I wanted you to come tonight,” she adds. “Can I open your bottle?” she asks longingly.
“Yeah, of course, that’s why I brought it,” he answers, rolling his eyes. Taking the bottle from her outstretched hand and unscrewing the top, he returns it. “Pour me one, too? Hey, by the way,” he adds casually, leaning forward with his elbows on the island, “where’s, uh, where’s Jason from?”
Nari frowns but doesn’t look up from where she’s pouring the wine into two glasses. “Um, Seoul only, I think. Why?”
“No reason. His accent seems a little different.”
“Does it?” She considers this before shaking her head. “Never noticed. He doesn’t sound slightly different over the phone, though, it’s true.”
“Oh, yeah? Do doctors get a lot of time to talk on the phone?” he asks, chuckling even though it’s not one of his funnier jokes.
“Uh-huh. We talk about our hopes and dreams and who gets dibs on the next day’s gallbladder surgery,” she responds, grinning and handing him his glass. “But his mother is foreign, though, so it could just be an accent thing.”
“American?”
“No, German. I remember, because she tried to teach me a couple of German words when we went out to dinner and my accent was abysmal,” she says, shuddering at the memory.
Seokjin chokes, immediately turning it into a cough. “You -” He coughs again and places his glass down. “You went to dinner with his mom?”
“Yeah, like six of us,” she explains, now pouring her own glass. “His parents visited during… New Year’s, I think, and invited all of us who were working that day to dinner. Kind of sucked in the plans department, but the free food was worth the pity.”
Seokjin can’t quite think of a response to that so he simply nods, taking a large sip of the wine to buy some time, clinking his glass wordlessly with hers as she joins him on this side of the island.
“By the way,” she says after a moment, voice suddenly a little lower, “thanks for coming. I kind of didn’t think you would,” she confesses.
“Why?” he asks.
Nari shrugs. “It’s not really your scene, I guess? A party, so many new people…” She bites her lip. “Plus… you know. Last night.”
Ah. A blush creeps up his neck at the thought of last night and he hopes it isn’t visible on his face. Looking into the clear rosé in his glass, he shakes his head. “Are you kidding me? Taboo and socialising? How could I say no?” He smiles with her before he feels it fade. “Do you regret it? I mean… do you think we made a mistake?” he asks, realising for the first time that since they were completely sober last night, the consequence of their tryst could be far more dire than the first time they slept together.
She frowns, as though this train of thought hadn’t even occurred to her. “No,” she says slowly. “Do you think it was a mistake?”
“Of course not.”
Nari nods and looks down at her glass this time, the corners of her mouth twitching infinitesimally. It’s similar to how she looked last night outside the ER doors just before they separated; a moment of quiet privacy before the chaos of their lives caught up to them.
“Good.” She pokes his shoulder and playfully pushes him so he bounces back on the balls of his feet.
“Good.” He mimics the gesture, only for her to bounce back with slightly more force.
There’s no muss or fuss about it; their lips meet naturally. The feeling of consciously deciding to kiss in the light of day is an unfamiliar yet wonderfully liberating feeling. He registers the mild sweetness of the rosé, although whether it’s from him or her, he can’t tell. Her teeth accidentally graze his lip when the sound of glass shattering interrupts them, and Nari immediately pulls away and steps back.
Seokjin opens his eyes a second later to see her gingerly touch her mouth, her eyes on him but her expression unreadable. From behind her, one of the other girls with a bob cut scurries in.
“Shit, I told him to - oh, guys. Make sure you don’t step into the living room barefoot until we clean up the glass,” she informs them before turning to Nari. “You know where the paper towels are?” she asks urgently.
“Uh, yeah.” The moment gone, Seokjin watches silently as Nari directs the new entrant to one of the cabinets.
Once the girl gets hold of a brand new roll, she hastens to leave but not before turning to them. “You guys should hurry, we’re about to start Taboo.”
“Come on, let’s go,” says Nari softly, touching his wrist before heading out of the kitchen. It’s too quick an interaction for Seokjin to be able to pick up anything from her tone, except that it’s probably shelved for later and until then, everything can go back to normal.
Normal. While it’s a nice thought, it becomes apparent fairly quickly that the concept itself is elusive. It occurs to Seokjin that while he and Nari have an equally comfortable rapport by themselves as well as around friends, it’s always only been his friends. The boundaries between him and his members are nearly negligible, and they’ve all known Nari for years now, making the entire dynamic a comfortable one.
But it's the first time he’s ever spent an extended period of time with a group of her friends, however, and it’s disconcerting, for they all seem to know a slightly different Nari than he does. It’s minor; so minor that Seokjin feels that if this recent snag in their friendship hadn’t emerged, he may not have noticed it at all.
Her body language isn’t the same, although he supposes sitting with her feet up in faded shorts and a torn t-shirt would be inappropriate in a colleague’s house. She’s sitting two places away from Seokjin, something he tries not to read into, laughing at an imitation of someone he doesn’t know.
He doesn’t like this. He half-wishes she hadn’t kissed him in the kitchen - but hadn’t he equally kissed her, too? Even when the game begins and he and Nari - along with four other people including Kwon Jason - are teamed together, he wonders if he’s imagining the sudden distance or if it’s a coincidence that she’s chosen to sit on a single-seater recliner, leaving him to sit next to the host, Hyeri, on the sofa.
Seokjin can’t focus on the game at all, but it’s not for lack of trying. The game is rife with inside jokes, which he supposes is to be expected upto a point, but it makes following the game extremely difficult. Nari is one of the few people who tries to steer the conversation to neutral topics and focus on the player in the centre, until someone says “What Dr Oh is known for” and the answer turns out to be assets, that Seokjin mentally checks out.
He’s not sure why he’s so uncomfortable. He tries to catch Nari’s eye as Jason from their team stands up and moves to the centre, picking out a card with a flourish. She frowns curiously when she finally meets his gaze and he immediately mimics typing on a phone. She nods once and reaches for her phone when Jason goes “Okay”, apparently about to begin, and the tall girl from the other team starts the timer.
Nari shrugs apologetically and mouths “sorry”, setting her phone on her lap and turning to Jason who’s already begun.
“ - refers to a lot of -” Jason checks the card, “- wealth.” He looks to his team with wide eyes, hinting at something.
“Rich?” Hyeri guesses.
“No - well, yes, but it’s more to do with, uh…” He checks the card again, “okay - quality of life.”
“Um…” She frowns and trails off.
“Wealthy?” One of the other guys guesses, only to be met with a slap to the shoulder.
Jason tries a different approach. “Okay, what kind of people would go to, say… a fancy airport lounge?”
“Celebrities?” Nari asks, her eyes flickering to Seokjin. Thankfully, no one seems to notice, more focused on Jason shaking his head rapidly.
Seokjin, now with zero interest in the game, trains all his focus on not making a single expression. He needs this one round to finish - this endless, unproductive round - so that he can either speak to Nari in the most normal way possible about what the hell they’re doing, or leave.
“ - no, Jesus.” Jason huffs, tapping his foot impatiently. “Okay, come on - Nari’s favourite k-drama?” he asks pointedly, and a couple of people snicker.
Seokjin nips this one in the bud. “Nari hates k-dramas,” he says, resisting the urge to slap his forehead.
Jason frowns, as though this is news to him, while Hyeri gasps. “Boys Over Flowers!” she exclaims, jumping out of her seat rather dramatically, stealing Jason’s focus instantly.
“Yes! And they go to a school for…?”
“The elite!”
Nari’s answer comes a second before the timer buzzes, and Jason drops the card onto the centre table, punching his fist in the air as he goes back to his seat next to Nari. Just then the doorbell buzzes and someone goes “Pizza!” before shuffling out of the room, while a bunch of pagers go off at the same time. There are multiple groans, including - Seokjin notices with a sinking heart - Nari’s.
“Duty calls,” says Daeun wryly, as some six people drag themselves to their feet and begin heading out of the room. Nari, thankfully, comes straight to Seokjin.
“I’m so sorry,” she says immediately, dropping her face into her hands and groaning. “There must have been an emergency or they wouldn’t page.”
He nods blankly. “An emergency. Yeah.”
“Yeah. Like a bus crash or a fire or something.” She sighs and twists her neck. “It’s a Saturday evening, though - my money’s on a pile-up.”
In this moment, Seokjin couldn’t care less about a hypothetical pile-up if he tried. “Alright. Uh, I guess I’ll see you… whenever I’m back.” He moves to get up, but Nari holds him back.
“Don’t leave because of me,” she pleads, her voice small. “Stay… have a drink. Not everyone’s leaving,” she points out.
He realises she’s right. There’s one guy rifling through the remaining Taboo cards, the girl in the pink blazer next to him, Hyeri the host, and Jason, finishing his beer enthusiastically before standing up and heading to the kitchen.
“Nari, I don’t think -”
She tilts her head, looking far too apologetic for a situation that isn’t quite her fault. “Jinnie…”
Seokjin’s heart skips a grudging beat and he feels himself nodding, barely able to register the relieved smile and friendly peck to the cheek she gives him before rushing out and leaving a faint flowery scent in her wake. Once the door swings shut and it’s only four doctors and one idol in the room, he instantly regrets his agreement. Five seconds later, once he hears the car outside drive away, he’s done.
Coming here this evening was a tentative decision at best, and he’d only done it for Nari. With her gone, he has no obligation or desire to stay - and definitely not with Kwon Jason for company.
He downs the rest of his drink, hoping that with everyone else sufficiently distracted, he can possibly slip out unnoticed. The host isn’t even here to say goodbye to, although that seems to make no difference to the others, for they seem to be treating the house as their own. As if to prove it, the guy with the Taboo cards plonks himself on the sofa and puts his feet up on the armrest, with no care for anyone else.
Mind made up, Seokjin stalks over to the dining table to keep his empty glass, pulling his jacket on at the same time. He fumbles with the sleeve and his phone falls in the process.
“Perfect,” he mutters, hoping the screen hasn’t shattered again. He feels around for the phone under the table and drags it out, accidentally twisting his wrist. He hissed softly and pulls his hand back hastily, only to feel another sharper pain on his skin.
Retrieving the offended hand, he sees a gash near his thumb. Under the table, he spots a shard of glass, glistening with red on one of the corners. Marvelling briefly at his luck in finding the one piece of glass everyone else had managed to miss while cleaning up, Seokjin shakes his head and goes into the kitchen.
The cool tap water of the sink burns the cut, but Seokjin grits his teeth. Nari would force him to wash it, he knows. Do you want to get tetanus, Kimbap? Because it can happen, you know.
Once he deems it sufficiently sanitizer, he turns off the tap when Hyeri traipses in, halting in her tracks when she sees Seokjin.
“Is that blood?” Her eyes widen but also gleam slightly, as though she’s hoping to start suturing something right away. “Are you okay?”
“Uh, yeah,” he says shortly. “It’s just a small cut, don’t worry.”
“Oh, okay.” She nods. “I just came in here to get the pizza menu,” she explains, reaching into a drawer and revealing a glossy folded menu. “These companies think they can swindle us and not calculate the discounts they promised.” She shakes her head in disappointment.
Seokjin isn’t sure what to say. “Good luck?”
Hyeri smiles with fervour. “Band-aids are in the cabinet just behind you.”
As she leaves, Seokjin dives for aforementioned band-aids, eagerly pasting one on the cut so that he can be done with the hideousness that is this night.
“Oh, you’re in here.”
Seokjin almost groans. Not another one. He turns with hesitation to see the girl in the pink blazer entering, looking equally doubtful. Her gaze falls to his hand.
“Are you okay?”
“Just… peachy.”
“Why are you holding your wrist like that?”
Seokjin frowns, realising for the first time that he is, indeed, holding his left wrist strangely still. He leaves it loose, only to feel the same throbbing pain shoot through the joint.
“Ow,” he mutters, wincing and straightening his hand. “How did you -” But he breaks off, remembering that a doctor would and should be able to identify an injury better than him. “Guess I twisted it a little,” he says, shrugging.
“You should ice it,” she suggests before pointing to the fridge. “Should I…”
It takes him a moment to catch on. “Oh! Uh, yeah, sure. Thank you,” he adds quickly, meaning it.
The girl opens the freezer, only to pull out an ice pack, as though ready to be used should someone injure a joint. “Huh,” she says, raising it slightly. “You got lucky.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if all of you have one of these ready in your fridge,” he says as she hands him the ice, smiling so she knows he’s joking. When she frowns curiously, he explains. “Well… because you’re doctors. Prepared for anything?” Seokjin places the frozen object against his wrist.
“Oh. Right. I’m not a doctor, though,” she admits after a moment.
“You’re not?”
“No. I’m here with Junghyun,” she offers, pointing vaguely behind her to the living room.
Seokjin struggles to recall which one Junghyun is, something she seems to notice, if her small and amused smile is indication. “That’s nice,” he says finally. “Boyfriend?” he asks, realising a moment later that it’s none of his business.
“Kind of. Not really.” She shakes her head and sighs. “It’s our second date.” When Seokjin pointedly says nothing, she gives a hollow chuckle. “And probably our last,” she adds in a low voice.
He snickers. “That bad?” he asks, privately thinking he knows exactly what she means.
“Yes. I mean, they’re all very nice,” she adds tiredly, leaning back against the kitchen counter, “but they’re just too…”
“Close?” he offers.
“Yes! God,” she adds with feeling. “And to meet that many of them at the same time? It’s overwhelming.”
Seokjin sighs, feeling almost vindicated - but also somewhat relieved. If he isn’t the only person in a mood tonight, then it can’t all be due to his unintentional dalliance with Nari, can it? It’s them, the swarm of overworked, underpaid surgical residents with repressed emotional ranges who spend eighty hours a week together - they are the problem.
“Okay, I think the ice is melting.”
Seokjin looks down to see a droplet land right on his thigh, leaving a rather incriminating spot on his tan trousers. “Shit,” he mutters, immediately placing it on the counter.
“Do you have a wrist brace you can use?” she asks, circling her own wrist with her fingers.
“Um, no. Do people just carry wrist braces around with them?”
To his horror, she simply raises her eyebrows before pushing up the sleeve of her blazer and unstrapping a wrist brace. “Here,” she says, handing it to him.
“You -“ Seokjin finds himself lost for words. “I can’t take that,” he says finally, unsticking his throat. “But thank you.”
“Don’t worry about it,” she says easily, waving a hand. “I have a bunch of these at home. All different colours,” she adds mock-proudly.
“Oh.” He takes it slowly, noting its deep purple colour. It feels soft on the inside, like foam. “Do you -“ He looks up and frowns curiously. “Do you collect them or something?”
She nods. “Yeah. Why?” When he, once again, finds himself devoid of words, her eyes narrow. “Prada came out with a line last year focusing on wristbands just like these. Do you think I’m weird?”
Seokjin’s eyes widen. “Y-no! No, of - of course not. It’s - it’s a perfectly respectable hobby. I collect stuff, too. Socks, if you’ll believe it - but I’m a little behind on -“
“I was kidding. I have a mild case of tendonitis.”
He stares at her, noting a hint of an apologetic smile forming on her face. “I knew it. No one collects wrist braces,” he grumbles. “I really thought I’d offended you, you know?”
She laughs, a pleasant sight. “It’s easy to make people think that. But I don’t offend that easily,” she adds after a moment, tapping the brace in his hand. “Need any help?”
“No…” Seokjin shakes his head. “I can’t accept this. Especially if you need it, too.”
“I wasn’t kidding about having a bunch of extras at home. Believe me, you don’t want a sprained wrist tomorrow morning.” When he bites his lip doubtfully, she tilts her head. “Think of it as me returning a favour. This conversation is the most fun I’ve had all evening.”
He doesn’t want to admit how much he relates to that. “Okay, then,” he agrees finally, carefully slipping it on and securing the velcro. “Thank you,” he says, meaning it.
She smiles. “Of course.”
“I’m Seokjin.”
Her smile widens slightly and she visibly hesitates. “I know.”
Oh. Seokjin is struck with a sudden mental image of this girl, possibly in her late twenties, in this exact blazer and her sleek, straight ponytail, jumping up and down in the audience at a concert, Army bomb in hand. He feels the heat creep up his neck and he knows - he just knows - that his ears are going red.
Blood rushes to your face faster than a cardiac tamponade, Kimbap.
“Right. Thanks, I -”
The sound of the front door swinging open and hurried footsteps makes them both jump. Two seconds later, a scattered-looking Nari scurries in, almost slipping sideways on her Converse.
“Thank God you’re still here,” she sighs in relief. Her hair is slightly windswept, as though she’s run up the porch stairs and into the house. “I was afraid you’d left.”
It feels like he’s been hit on the back of the head by a football. “You’re back?” Seokjin asks stupidly.
“That’s my cue, I think.” His companion, whose name he suddenly realises he doesn’t know, takes a step back good-naturedly and turns to leave. She and Nari murmur a “hi” to each other as they pass, before the latter faces him again. A draught blows through an open window, colder than expected.
“Hi,” says Seokjin.
Nari smiles, but there’s something held back in it. “Hi. I’m so glad you stayed.”
“Just until I fixed… this.” He holds up the hand with a band-aid and wrist brace on it and watches her smile fade, as though she’s just noticing he’s hurt.
“What happened?” she asks, walking up to him and taking his wrist delicately. “Did you twist it?”
He nods. “It’s okay, though. Doesn’t hurt much.”
“Did you ice it?”
“Yeah. Don’t worry about it.” Seokjin finds it surprisingly hard to meet her gaze. “How come you’re back? I thought there was a bus crash. Or something.”
Nari sighs, her fingers letting go of his wrist. “I was deemed too drunk to practise medicine,” she says dryly, rolling her eyes.
“Are you?”
“Yes. But sometimes I like to watch.”
There’s a pause before they both chuckle half-heartedly. The lingering tension of the last twenty-four hours seems to be finally gathering somewhat and for the first time in his life, Seokjin doesn’t know what to say to Nari.
“So… I have to ask,” she begins slowly, leaning back against the kitchen table opposite him. “Is it my imagination, or when I left for the hospital… I felt like I was doing something wrong.”
He considers this. “Well, you didn’t leave so much as… stumble and almost fall on your way out.”
Nari gives him a small smile. “Seokjin, I’m being serious.”
“You didn’t do anything wrong,” he says automatically. His eyes drop to his wrist again and he gingerly applies pressure to the back of it with his finger.
“Seokjin.” She waits until he meets her gaze. “I’m - I’m sorry about earlier. About… kissing you.” She looks at her feet. “I know I probably sent you some mixed signals and… I’m sorry.”
“I kissed you, too. And that’s not the problem, Nari,” he adds, realising as he says it that it’s true. The kiss, while it felt like the world was spinning off its axis when it was happening, is still just a blip in the radar compared to the moment of shock and confusion he’d experienced later.
“Really?” She frowns. “So what is it, then?”
“It’s -” Putting this into words is harder than he thought, not to mention borderline embarrassing. But Seokjin rallies, knowing that if he doesn’t say it now, he never will. “You like Boys Over Flowers? Since when?”
Nari’s face goes blank for a moment before she evidently remembers. “Oh. Uh, no. Not really. It’s a bit cliche for my taste.”
Avoidance. Unsurprised, he continues. “Fine, I’ll rephrase. You’ve seen Boys Over Flowers? A k-drama?” He waits for her shoulders to drop.
“Yeah - but not of my own free will,” she clarifies quickly. “A bunch of us saw Hayoon watching the first episode on her phone during lunch and we started joking around and joined her and - God, it was so stupid, Kimbap, seriously -” Nari rolls her eyes, and for a moment he feels like they’ve gone back five years. “But, anyway, then everyone got all invested in the plotline and everyone wanted to watch the second episode… and then it just became a thing. It was a joke,” she finishes, her voice a bit smaller.
It seems plausible. Seokjin feels the same, low frustration at the smallest, stupidest things annoying him - things he can’t tell Nari. He doesn’t know if it would make him seem petulant, the fact that she didn’t have the time to watch their favourite movie a month ago because she was so tired from a shift but has managed to finish an entire series while on the job.
Nari’s favourite k-drama! Kwon Jason had said it with confidence, and his look of confusion at Seokjin’s response had been disproportionately devastating. The difference in how her new friend said her name makes sense now, because it’s not the accent or the voice or anything else. It’s just the familiarity of knowing her - something Seokjin had, until today, heard only in his own voice.
“So you hated it?”
“I did,” she confirms. “I still don’t like k-dramas.”
The deliberate tone with which she says it gives him a sneaking feeling that she knows where his mind is at. When he doesn’t respond, she sighs again.
“Seokjin, I’m really sorry.”
“Nari, stop apologising,” he starts to say gently, but she shakes her head.
“No. Something’s wrong, or… different,” she argues, and he finds himself feeling slightly glad that at least they’re still on the same wavelength when it comes to things like this. “And you’re my best friend, Jinnie. So I don’t mind apologising if I’ve done something to hurt you or make you angry.” Which I think I have.
She looks anxious; she’s fiddling with her fingers, her nails scratching the skin, but he doubts she’s noticed. Seokjin reaches forward and gently holds her chin for a moment before letting his hand fall to his side.
“I’m not angry, I promise.” He waits for her to nod before continuing, looking somewhere near her shoulder. “Look, I… this may be my issue more than yours.”
“I don’t care,” she says immediately. “Tell me.”
How? It would sound ridiculous, like he’s a child with a toy he doesn’t want to share. “It’s not surprising,” he begins slowly, “that we’d drift apart. It sucks but it had to happen. I mean, we’ve made it two and a half decades - that’s a hell of a record. Right?”
Nari’s face doesn’t betray anything, except for a momentary flicker of her eyes. “Right,” she agrees softly.
“I think I’ve been using our… thing as a way to… I don’t know, tell myself that we’re still close,” he admits, unable to look at her at all now.
“You don’t think we’re still close?”
Seokjin shuts his eyes, something squeezing his heart at the accusatory note in her voice. “I do. Just maybe not as much.”
There’s a few seconds of thick, heavy silence and he suddenly, wildly hopes she’ll smack him upside the head and tell him to cut it out.
“So that’s what you were doing last night?” she asks finally. “Trying to keep me close? And the night at the dorm?”
Especially the night at the dorm. But Seokjin resists the urge to say it, his mind flashing back to the night in question a few months ago. Grey sleet outside, most of the members including Seokjin, Kaya Madaan, Jimin’s friend Sooah, and Nari - not to mention the one and only time Jennie Kim had ever set foot in there - all huddled in their dorm in Hannam Hill with a monopoly board between them. There had been a lot of alcohol that night, too, possibly because there was nothing else to do in the face of the intense awkwardness that seemed to emanate from every which way.
Seokjin couldn’t be completely sure, except that he knew Taehyung was in some sort of tiff with either Yoongi or Jimin, Sooah’s presence was a wildcard entirely when it came to Jimin, while Kaya remained the only person who spoke to Jennie with complete normality.
No, what he remembers most of all is how Nari had to leave that night, for some birthday party or something - and Seokjin had been getting more and more ticked off all night at her constant glances at her watch. Finally, he’d snapped in the only way he knew how: tapped her on the shoulder and promised her, completely calmly, that once they finished this round of Monopoly, he’d drive her wherever she wanted.
He hadn’t known what else to do, except that there was a certain sense of irritation he was feeling that he was afraid would show eventually. But he couldn’t help it, for if she was so eager to get somewhere else, why had she even come here? Why make the effort to come over in the rain, spend time wading through the worst kind of friend group politics over Monopoly, only to end the night with other people?
True to his word, he’d stood up and silently stalked into his room after the game ended, mumbling something about grabbing a jacket. Nari had followed him, as he’d known she would, and he hadn’t even been surprised when he’d heard the door close behind him.
Seokjin, she’d said, and her tone held many things he did not wish to unravel.
You should grab your stuff. You don’t want to be late.
You’re not driving me anywhere, Seokjin. You’ve been drinking.
Well, you’re not going to get a cab in this weather, he’d reasoned. Spotting a stain on his t-shirt, he’d taken it off and dropped it on the floor. Out of the corner of his eye, he’d seen her figure approach. He’d felt her cool hand on his bicep, tugging at it to turn him around. He’d begrudgingly obliged, feeling the old leap in his stomach at their proximity.
Then I won’t go.
Seokjin hadn’t even bothered to turn on the light when he’d entered. Despite that, her lips had known just where to find his, and his hands had known just where to wrap around her waist. He didn’t know what feelings they’d succumbed to that night while the rest of his friends continued playing Monopoly outside; he simply knew that this was where he wanted to be - alone with Nari, her voice the only one, soft and melodious in his ear.
He was trying to keep her close. The thought fills him with shame, deep and sinking.
Hanging his head, he nods once. “Kind of, yeah. I think. I guess I was hoping it was… affirmation of some sort, affirmation that we’re still close. It feels like we’re drifting apart, Nari,” he murmurs after a moment. “My travel and your hours. And then that night - the first night -” He watches her bite her lip and his heart skips a small beat. “It felt like we were back to our old selves. A little bit.” He sighs. “I think I’m associating two things that have no business being associated with each other.”
After what feels like ages, Nari nods. “I get it,” she says finally.
“Really?” He can hear the surprise in his own voice.
She gives him a momentary look. “Yes. I may be on my way to becoming a heartless surgeon, but I still understand.”
He cracks a smile. “You can never be heartless. You’re still the person that donated a month’s pocket money for the Injured Birds Association in middle school.”
“The one that turned out to be a front for Eunwoo to buy Hot Wheels for himself?”
“That’s the one.”
Nari slaps his shoulder jokingly, but there’s a significantly lesser punch to it. “Regardless. Do you remember my crisis on the night we first hooked up?” She waits for him to nod. “You may be using our thing as affirmation of our friendship, and I’m using it as affirmation that I’m not going to die alone.”
“Nari, you’re not going to -”
“Maybe not, but I was so genuinely afraid of it that night,” she continues, cutting him off. “I really thought I would be alone forever and then… what happened happened, and… it felt like no matter how alone I was, I still have you.” She exhales, as though she’s finally said something she’s been thinking of for a long time. “Fuck,” she mutters, dropping her face into her hands.
Seokjin swallows, his heart sinking at her hunched figure. It was never supposed to be this complicated; not during the first drunken night, not in his dimly lit bedroom, and definitely not in the pregnant silence of last night. Nari was what uncomplicated his life; this is completely unchartered territory.
“That bothers you?” he asks, although he’s not sure what he’s referring to.
She looks up at him, clearly unsure. “Seokjin, I don’t want to use you,” she admits in a small voice.
He doesn’t know how to feel about that. “Are you? Using me?”
“Sometimes I feel like I am.” Nari swallows. “I was really happy after the first night, you know? When everything went back to normal. But then the next time happened, and the next time…” She trails off, shaking her head.
“We need to stop.”
She nods. “We need to stop.”
The silence that follows this mutual agreement is thick with tension, more than Seokjin could ever have been prepared for. Before him, Nari looks more sober than she has all night.
“It can’t be that hard, right?” he ventures, raising his eyebrows when she snaps up to look at him. “I mean… we’ve gone, like, twenty years without sleeping together.”
“That’s true.”
“Yeah?” He tries to give her a small smile, his heart heavy. “Just… don’t be a stranger, okay?”
Nari scoffs, in spite of the glassiness of her eyes. She wraps her fingers lightly around his wrist. “What? Why would you say that? I’m your best friend.”
This one’s easy. “Yeah, you are.” I don’t know what I’d do without you in my life. But he doesn’t say it. Nothing good can come out of saying something like that.
She nods a little too vigorously, and Seokjin knows she understands what he meant. “But we… are we taking some space? Just for a while?”
“I think we have to.” He squeezes her hand back. “Just for a while.”
Nari bites her lip and swallows, blinking rapidly and taking a step back. “I need to help clean up.”
He nods, taking the cue. “Yeah. I should go home, too.”
“Is someone picking you up?”
“I’ll ask Yoongi. He owes me.”
“Cool.”
Nari walks him out, their shoulders brushing slightly. The night air is cool and Seokjin has half a mind to just walk back home.
“Thanks for coming,” she says, and he’s relieved to hear her voice not trembling anymore. “Really. I know it could’ve been a bit much,” she admits, chuckling slightly.
“Just a tad.” He returns her smile. “I’ll text you when I’m back from Yeongam.”
“Okay.” She takes a step back and raises a hand in a small wave. “Bye.”
“Take care, Nari.” Seokjin turns to leave, but he barely takes two steps before he hears her call his name and he turns back around. “Yeah?”
Nari says nothing, but her face is like an open book. She looks worried, not to mention confused, as though unable to put it into words.
“Seokjin, we…” She trails off before trying again. “I know we’re taking space, but…”
It takes a second for it to click. “I’m always here, Nari. No matter what. Even if we’re taking space,” he assures her.
The relief that floods through her face makes his stomach leap. “Cool,” she murmurs, nodding. There’s a momentary pause before she jogs up to him and hugs him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and gently knocking the side of his face with hers.
Sighing, he hugs her back, his arms tight around her. He will miss her, he thinks, but it’ll only be for a while. If it saves their friendship, it will be worth it. He squeezes her once and tilts his head to the side, kissing her hair before they both step back.
“‘Night, Jinnie,” she whispers, taking a couple of steps back before turning around and heading inside.
Seokjin watches her go, running a hand through his hair before suddenly wincing. His wrist, he remembers. He’d almost forgotten about it. He inspects it again, the deep purple brace still strapped on, when he remembers.
“Nari!” He unstraps the brace as she pokes her head out of the door again. “Can you give this back to…” He rolls his eyes, remembering once again that he doesn’t know her name, when he sees something scribbled on the inside of the strap. In silver pen, the name glitters: Seulgi. “Oh - Seulgi? The girl in the blazer?”
She frowns for a second. “Seulgi? Oh, Junghyun’s friend? I think they left.”
“They did?”
“I think so. Her bag and stuff is gone.”
Damnit. “Okay, no problem,” he mutters, waving as Nari smiles and closes the door again. No car, injured wrist, and a brace he can’t return.
It’s just a twist, though. Not even a sprain. Nothing a couple days of icing, some rest and a brace can’t fix.
He hopes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your eyes looked over the list of reservations you’d be handling for the day, your boss standing behind the check-in desk mumbling about the shortage of massage oils.
“Seems like the regulars…” you stated as you looked over to watch your boss.
“Yeah…” they sighed, turning to look over at you with tired eyes, “but you do seem to have a newcomer coming in later today. Ensure that you treat them with the utmost respect and professionalism, alright?”
You nodded before glancing back down at the list to see your last and latest reservation set for eight o’clock. “Leon S. Kennedy?” You tested the name, it sounded like a pseudonym as you cocked an eyebrow skeptically, “is that a joke?”
“It most certainly is not.” Your boss finally stood to turn and face you, their expression serious, “they’re a high-class customer, alright?”
You nodded, understanding what your boss was saying. You’ve had your fair share of “high-class customers” from mayors to senators who would come in and reserve a massage. The spa in which you worked had humble beginnings but by the time you were hired the reputation of your spa had grown to become a fairly luxurious business that served people with important backgrounds.
Confidentiality was key with this job; so much so that you were even required to sign an NDA upon being hired. You weren’t sure why it was such a big deal as nothing explicit ever occurred with the patrons, at least not to your knowledge. But you refrained from asking questions and focused on doing what you were hired to do and giving out high-quality massages.
“I’ll do my best to satisfy him,” you proclaimed, your boss offering you a small smile before leaving to carry out their other tasks for the day.
You push aside the ominous ‘Leon S. Kennedy’ as you go about your day, your scheduled reservations trickle in, many of them regulars who you’ve attended multiple times. By the time the clock hits 7:45, your hands are starting to feel sore as your joints ache. You bid your last customer goodbye before going into the bathroom to wash your hands.
“Long day?”
You startle at the sink, turning around to see one of your coworkers entering the bathroom.
“Oh hey, Jenna,” you offer her a small smile before turning off the faucet.
She stalks over to you, her eyes wide with an excitement you don’t trust, “I heard about your last customer.” she says knowingly.
“Okay?” You quirk an eyebrow at her, unsure why she seems so vested in your customer’s affairs.
“You’re not excited?”
“Why should I be? It’s just another customer.”
You watch as Jenna’s eyes widen, an amused smile pasted on her lips as her voice drops to a hushed whisper, “so you really don’t know?”
“No..?”
Jenna chuckles softly to herself before she responds, her voice light, “Leon S. Kennedy. He was hired by the federal government to act as a special agent. Rumors say he was tasked with saving the president’s daughter a few months back when she was kidnapped.”
You stare at Jenna as she talks, her words registering in your head before you give her a dubious look. She was known to stretch the truth at times and you couldn’t help but quirk an eyebrow at her.
“I’m serious!” she urges after a second of silence passes between the two of you.
“I’m sure you are! It’s just… you gotta understand that that’s a lot of information you dumped on me.” You explain, grabbing a paper towel and drying off your hands as Jenna moves around you to one of the empty stalls.
“Yeah, yeah. I know. I’m just telling you so you know what you're in for, okay? Treat him nicely. I heard he’s easy on the eyes so it shouldn’t be too hard for you.”
You roll your eyes as you exit the bathroom, your voice meeting Jenna’s quiet laughter as you call back to her, “real professional, Jenna.”
As you make your way back to the front desk, awaiting your last customer, you can’t help but let Jenna’s words wash over you. Was she really telling the truth? Why would she lie about something like this?
Your eyes glaze over to the open computer on the front desk before darting to the clock: 7:56. Your customer would be here any minute but your curiosity was eating away at you. You chewed on your bottom lip… one quick little Google search of his name couldn’t hurt, right? Besides, you rationalized it by saying that it was best to be prepared and know your new customer so that you knew how to better take care of him during your session.
Temptation and curiosity made a heady mix as your hands as if automatically, lept to the keyboard and quickly typed in the name ‘Leon S. Kennedy’. You weren’t sure what you were expecting, but considering that Leon was a supposed federal agent, you guessed that you shouldn’t have been too shocked to see little information about him online. Being a federal agent must mean that you have to keep a lot of personal information offline, but the lack of information on him could also mean that he’s just a reclusive kind of guy.
You sigh tiredly before looking back up and yelping at what you see. Across from you, in front of the desk, you’re met with a tall man with long light brown hair that slightly shadows his sharp-looking eyes. His narrow nose and small pink lips along with his angular jaw all came together to create a face that could have anyone stunned on the spot.
“I have an appointment.”
His voice almost sends a shiver down your spine. His voice was a bit deep yet not unfriendly, just distant. His tone gave nothing away except pure professionalism despite him being here as a customer and not a worker. Everything about this man just oozed secrecy and you guessed that Jenna was right when she said this guy was a federal agent.
“Of course, eight o’clock for Mister Kennedy, right?” You say, forcing your eyes away from the man and trying your best to remain calm and polite, just as you are with every other customer.
“You can just call me by my name. It seems like you’re fairly familiar with it anyway,” your eyebrows raise slightly until you notice the quick glance Leon sends the open computer on the desk with his name clearly typed into the search bar.
Your eyes widen in horror before you swiftly power off the computer, a wavering smile on your lips as you respond, “I apologize… Leon.”
“It’s no problem, really,” Leon assures, the hint of a smile lifting the corner of his lips as he looks over you, his gaze analytical as if he’s trying to read you with a distant curiosity.
You swallow the dry spit that has collected in your mouth as his gaze stays on you. “If you’ll follow me to the back, Leon. My name is _____ and I’ll be taking care of you this evening.” You state as you lead Leon down a series of dimly lit hallways, remembering that you have a job to do and need to fulfill it as such.
“Nice to meet you, ____.” the man behind you greets, his voice calm and measured as he says your name. “Is it usually this quiet here?” he asks after a second of silence passes.
You do your best not to focus on the way your name fits on his tongue and simply offer him a small smile as you briefly turn around to look at him before answering his question, “we try to keep a serene atmosphere here at Exotic Luxuries. Although since your appointment was a bit later most, if not all, the other workers have headed home for the night.”
You see Leon’s eyes widen slightly an apologetic look flickering over his piercing blue eyes, “I apologize for keeping you so late. I understand the frustrations one can have when having to work overtime… that’s actually the reason why I had to book this so late.”
You shake off his apology, “don’t worry about it. Were you working earlier?” You say carefully, not wanting to sound too interested in his line of work.
There’s a second of silence as your footsteps occupy the space between you and Leon. For a second you worry if you crossed the line, you don’t usually ask your customers about their jobs unless they confide in you first but you can’t help but want to know more about this man… this man who was tasked with saving the president’s daughter, supposedly. You can’t help but be curious.
Luckily though, it doesn’t seem as if Leon is upset with your intrigue as he responds a few seconds later, his voice polite. “Yes, you’re correct. I just got off about 30 minutes ago.”
Your eyes widen, unable to curve the shocked tone in your voice as you blurt out, “you just got off? Jesus, you must be so tired!”
Another second of tentative silence stretches on between you two as you curse yourself out for saying something so obvious. Before you can apologize for your rudeness you hear a quiet chuckle from behind you. Turning around you cast a brief glance up at Leon’s face and see him laughing softly, it’s not a full-on laugh and more of a close-lipped chuckle, but the way his lips curve slightly upwards makes something in you twist as you force your gaze away.
You continue your way through the halls until you eventually stop in front of a door made of glass but with a tint over it that makes it hard for anyone to see anything through it.
“This is where we’ll be having our session for the evening,” you say formally while gesturing to the door, “I’ll give you a few minutes to change out of your clothes. There’s a towel in there for you to use to cover yourself. I’ll be with you in a moment.”
Leon nods curtly at you, his eyes gazing at you briefly before he opens the door and heads inside. You watch the way his leather-bound jacket hugs his broad shoulders before the door closes, sequentially cutting off your vision of the beautiful man.
“Get yourself together, _____” you mumble to yourself before quickly walking away to the supply room.
According to the reservation, Leon reserved the first-time package, a promotion your boss was running that allowed new customers to get an hour-long massage at a 50% discount along with 30 minutes free in the sauna room. It was a pretty good deal and had brought in a plethora of new customers who left with a membership. You at least were used to doing it and felt better prepared to not embarrass yourself in front of Leon. You only hoped you could get through the massage without any incidents that would have you fired.
You reach for the supplies you’d need including a lavender and cinnamon scented oil before making your way back to the room you left Leon in. When you take a deep calming breath and open the door you expected to find the man lying face down on the cushioned bench centered in the middle of the room like everyone else. So imagine your surprise when you instead find Leon with his back facing you as he observes the different oils on display on a shelf. You can’t help but let your eyes travel across his bare back, the tendrils of his muscles flexing as he reaches up to grab one of the oils. Your eyes travel lower down his back until they reach the white towel wrapped around his waistline.
My god did he look gorgeous.
As much as you wanted to keep looking at him you had to remain professional. You knocked briefly on the door to alert him of your presence, causing the man to turn his head slightly to you, his voice calling out to you in the small room.
“Sorry, am I not meant to touch these?” he holds up the small oil in his hand.
You shake your head, stepping further into the room and closing the door behind you. “You’re fine. Did you have any questions about them?”
He shakes his head before setting it back down and turning around, striding over to the bench as you begin prepping on a nearby wooden stand.
“I was just curious to read each oil’s scent, I’ve never been to a spa before so…” as his voice trails off you glance back to smile friendly at him but immediately feel your cheeks flush at the sight you’re met with.
In the dim candlelit room, you notice how the warm glow from the tiny flames bathes Leon in their serene glow. The flickering shadows of their fiery nature create patches of darkness across Leon’s skin before being overtaken by light once again resembling a makeshift mirage of shadows. Every flex of his defined muscles is outlined by the shadows they leave on his skin like delicate brush lines dipped in black paint. He truly was a piece of art- a walking canvas.
It takes all your willpower to tear your eyes away before you start drooling as you try to remember what he said and provide an appropriate response, “yeah…um. Each oil’s unique scent can have a different effect on the person using it depending on what they want.”
“Like what?”
You think for a moment before picking up the oil you chose for Leon as you turn to him and force your eyes to meet his rather than glance down at his chiseled body. “This is a lavender cinnamon essential massage oil. The contrast of the sweet and cool lavender with the warm and spicy cinnamon produces an indomitable romantic blend. It creates a calming yet stimulating feeling when massaged into the skin. The scent also restores your mind to a more relaxed state.”
Leon nods at your explanation, a ghost of what you assume to be a smirk crosses over his lips before it's quickly wiped away as he heads over to the bench and sits down.
“Where would you like me to start the massage? We could start on your front or on your back.”
“My front if you don’t mind. I don’t really like having my back turned.”
You nod, somewhat understanding why he’d feel that way if his job always requires him to be on alert. “That’s fine. Do you mind getting under the sheet and removing your towel? I’ll turn around as you do so.” You say gently, turning around.
You hear some rustling sounds before Leon’s smooth voice tells you that’s finished. You turn around to see the sheet covering his lower body, leaving his chest and arms exposed.
“Is it okay if I leave the sheet off my chest?” he asks.
You nod, “that’s completely fine. As long as you’re comfortable,” you move closer to Leon and grab the massage oil before opening it and beginning to lightly pour it over his arms as you explain your movements, “since this is your first time I’ll start off slow. I’m going to pour this oil over the parts of the body you feel need the most attention, okay? For now, I’ll massage your arms.”
Leon listens closely to your instructions, his eyes flick down to the oil that begins to roll down his arm until you reach out and begin slathering the slippery liquid across his warm skin. As soon as your fingers grace Leon’s skin you feel your brain begin to short-circuit. His arms are so firm, it takes you a second to properly grip his arm so that you're massaging him more effectively. You do your best to not imagine how his arm would feel wrapped around you as you begin the session. Instead, you let your eyes wander across his chest (which also turned out to be a bad idea) where you’re met with his broad shoulders and defined collarbone that you want to sink your teeth in. As beautiful as he is you also can’t help but notice various cuts and bruises on his skin, some looking fresh as a red tint surrounds the cuts and a blue color defining his upcoming bruises.
“I’m fine.”
You startle at hearing a voice call out to you. Your eyes quickly flick up to find Leon looking at you, his eyes almost glowing under the light of the candles, and yet his voice has a slight edge to it as he speaks.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to stare…” you trail off, embarrassment flooding through your skin.
Leon studies you for a moment, his whole body still, almost disguising his presence as you try to focus on the massage before he sighs and finally speaks, “no, I’m sorry if that came off rude. I got these from work…”
“Do you always suffer from injuries like these?” you ask, your voice tinted with worry as you furrow your eyebrows.
To your surprise, Leon smirks when he sees the expression on your face. His lips curl up dangerously, subtly, as if amused before he answers. “If I’m lucky. Today wasn’t too bad. They’ll heal.”
You don’t like how dismissive he is of his injuries but you supposed him coming down to a spa was a way for him to try to relax and take his mind off of his strenuous job. You redouble your efforts, determined to give this man the best massage of his life. For a while you’re able to do this, your eyes focusing on his pressure points as you massage his arms. From time to time your eyes glance up to catch Leon already looking at you, his eyes watching you with a glimmer of something that you can’t discern.
“Is there something wrong? Am I applying too much pressure?” you question hesitantly after catching him looking at you for the fifth time.
He shakes his head, his eyes still attached to yours, “no, sorry if I was making you uncomfortable. I guess I was just trying to get a read on you. You seem young, but by the looks of it you’ve been doing this for awhile.”
Did he want to learn more about you? You pushed the thought away quickly, he was probably just trying to make casual conversation. You answered with a small smile, “I’ve always liked making people feel good. As a kid that was in the form of giving my mom really bad back massages that she pretended wasn’t practically cracking her spine,” you see Leon’s chest heave up and down slightly as he chuckles quietly, “seriously though, something about giving someone a massage is just… fulfilling to me. It’s intimate, quiet, and serene. It’s just as relaxing for me as it is for my clients sometimes…”
Leon observes the way your voice becomes softer, and more thoughtful as you speak. He smiles at your words, this time allowing you to see his shiny teeth and you feel your heartbeat speed up knowing you were able to draw that kind of expression out of him.
“I admire your passion. I’m sure this job isn’t easy.”
“‘I’m sure it’s nothing compared to what you have to do.”
“Doesn’t matter which one is harder. The point is that you like what you do and you do it well. That requires a lot of patience and discipline. You should take pride in that.”
You feel your eyes widen slightly at Leon’s words, sincerity pouring through his tone.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to lecture you…” Leon huffs out a humorless laugh as he turns to look away from you, his eyes tracing the lines on the ceiling.
“You weren’t. I appreciate it, Leon,” you say honestly with a small smile as you finish massaging his arms. You turn around to face the clock that hangs on the wall, “we have about 45 minutes left. Is there any other area you’d like me to show attention to?”
Leon seems to think for a moment, his icy-blue eyes traveling over to you before he speaks, “would you be okay with massaging my legs? My job today required a lot of running and I can tell I’m going to wake up sore in the morning.”
You nod before moving down to his legs and cautiously moving the sheet up until it’s lying halfway across his thighs. You do your best not to stare at his toned legs as you begin pouring more massage oil on him before pressing your thumbs into his calves. You continue massaging the different parts of Leon’s legs, the oil glistening off of his skin while the candlelights reflect a warm glow onto him. You gradually move higher and higher up his leg until you press down on his inner thigh absentmindedly when you're brought back to the present after hearing a noise escape from Leon’s lips.
Fear spreads through you as you quickly pull your hands away from him as if he was a fire.
“A-are you okay? Did I do something wrong?” you ask frantically, your eyes wide with worry.
Looking at Leon however, you’re met with an interesting sight. Rather than the scowl or grimace you were expecting to see you notice a slight tinge of red dusting over his cheeks. Was he blushing? He quickly meets your eyes, his eyebrows furrowed slightly but not in annoyance at you as he speaks lowly, “I’m fine, sorry if I startled you. I closed my eyes momentarily and when you pressed into my thigh it just-” he cuts himself off, promptly clearing his throat and stealing his expression. “I was just surprised is all.”
You look at him, studying his behavior with confusion pooling into your eyes as you speak up hesitantly, “did you… want me to stop? I can always begin working on your back if you feel uncomfortable.”
“No… you don’t need to stop. You’re doing fine, really. I was just… taken aback.” while he speaks politely, you can just barely pick up a shred of something else in his eyes. A flash of… want?
Before you can dissect the look further Leon leans back down and closes his eyes. You take a second to register what just happened before cautiously reaching out and massaging the skin just below his thigh, your brain whirring with thoughts… a lot of them are unprofessional and would most likely get you fired if you acted on them and especially if it was unwarranted. But you can’t help but wonder if Leon didn’t want you to stop because it felt… good?
What would happen if you raised your hand just a bit higher?
Your eyes glance up to look at Leon whose eyes are still closed shut, his breathing even. You glance back down to your hands around his knee and tentatively begin moving your hand higher up on his leg. You stop halfway up his thigh where you had left off and ever so gently press into his inner thigh, his skin folding under your touch. Once again a noise escapes Leon’s lips, but this time you can discern what it is. A quiet small moan slips through his pink lips.
You can barely believe what you’re hearing. You manage to not freak out and continue massaging his thigh, this time adding even more pressure as your thumbs slide over the skin on his inner thigh. Again, another moan escapes Leon’s lips and it’s incredibly sexy.
Before you can continue, however, you see Leon suddenly open his eyes in shock, as if he had been in a daze. His gaze darts over to you, “I’m sorry…” he begins, “I didn’t mean to- that was unprofessional of me. I don’t usually… I’ve never…”
You watch in amusement as Leon begins floundering over his words, surprised to see the seemingly cool-headed federal agent flustered over your touch. With a calming breath, you muster all your strength to prepare yourself for what you’re about to say and pray that you won’t regret it.
With a determined expression, you give Leon a look that stops him from talking, your eyes piercing into his as you speak with an air of confidence despite you wanting to throw up on the inside. “It’s okay. I did it on purpose.” Leon squares you with a confused look as you continue talking, “I told my boss that I would satisfy you. I was instructed to help you relax and to take care of you. And like you said… I’m very passionate about this job.”
You watch as Leon takes in your words, you can practically see the gears in his head turning as he takes in what you’re proposing. “Are you sure?” he asks after a long second, his eyebrows knitted in concern, unsure if you’re being serious.
You nod, “if you can’t trust my words…will you trust my actions?”
The man before you eyes you warily. A specific and stringent tension begins to fill the air, the feeling so palpable that you can practically feel it prickle your skin. You don’t even realize the breath you’ve been holding in your chest as you await Leon’s response until he finally speaks, his voice low and quiet.
“Help me relax, _____.”
That’s all it takes for you to continue your massage, but this time you let your hands roam freely. You start back up at his thigh, your hands sinking into his malleable skin as a small soft huff of air leaves Leon’s lips. You continue your climb up his leg until your hand eventually reaches underneath the towel, you can see the growing tent of Leon’s desires and smile up at the man before looking back down.
“I don’t think you’ll be needing this…” you say softly before pulling the towel off and revealing all of Leon, his bare body completely and utterly at your mercy.
One of Leon’s arms props him up on the bench as he stares at you, a small smirk clearly expressed on his lips. “Impatient?”
“Eager.”
Leon’s eyes glimmer at your words before you rest your hands on the base of his shaft, your attention drifting from Leon’s face down to his pretty cock. It’s perfectly trimmed and curves upwards at a beautiful angle. You can see the faint outlines of his blue veins that run up and down his shaft. You trace your oiled index finger over them delicately eliciting a shaky breath from the man you have cupped in your hands.
You smirk seductively, your plump lips curling upwards before you put your mouth to good use and lean down, your tongue making contact first as it swirls around the pink glistening tip slowly. The taste of Leon’s precum is surprisingly pleasant- or as pleasant as precum can be. You supposed his job kept him in shape along with whatever healthy diet he probably has set for himself.
“That’s it…” you hear Leon praise quietly, his voice warm and intimate. “Do you mind if I hold your hair back?”
You shake your head as you open your mouth a bit more, your lips closing fully around Leon’s tip and sucking slightly. As you do so you feel Leon’s expansive hand entangle itself in your hair, holding it up gently. You open your mouth more, feeling like you’ve teased him enough, and begin to take him in your mouth, his shaft fitting snugly in your mouth. Your hands move from his base to fondle his clean-looking balls while your mouth entertains his cock, you feel his tip hit the back of your throat before you’re able to fully take him in. He wasn’t huge, but he was big enough to have you needing to take a breath after feeling him hit you in the back of your throat.
“Don’t strain yourself.” the statement was supposed to come off as comforting but when your eyes looked up to look at Leon you knew it was anything but. He was teasing you and the now smug smile on his lips was a big indicator of that.
“Don’t flatter yourself.” you snapped back with the same teasing tone in your voice.
You turned your attention back to Leon’s dick before using your hands to pump him from the base, they were lubricated enough from the massage oil to set a quick pace while your mouth latched back on to the tip before you opened your mouth further to take more of him.
“That’s a good girl…” Leon’s gruff voice called out from above you, his hand still in your hair but gripping it a bit harder.
You feel your core ache with need at the praise, oddly satisfied to have this man’s approval as you continue working his cock in your mouth. The texture of his veins slides against the walls of your mouth, and your tongue runs against them, flicking over the long lines. Your hands continue their ministration of pumping the base of Leon’s shaft, they slide over him easily.
From the side you begin to hear Leon’s breathing pick up, the sound harsh and impatient. You continue sucking him for a few more seconds before popping your mouth off of him and smirking triumphantly at him, “don’t strain yourself, now.” you say mockingly as you observe the way Leon has his bottom lip crushed between his teeth, “should I let you cum in my mouth?” you ask with mock innocence.
Before you can revel in your temporary victory at seeing Leon succumb to your mouth Leon sits up abruptly, his hand that was propping him up leaves the bench to lightly grab your chin and bring your lips to his. The movement momentarily shocks you but you quickly get yourself under control and kiss him back eagerly.
Your lips slot together perfectly, he feels so soft against you despite his callused hand tracing your jawline and down to the back of your neck, adding a bit of pressure to pull you closer to him.
“I’d prefer… doing that inside you with your permission,” Leon mumbles into the kiss, his tongue running across your bottom lip before slipping inside your mouth.
“Fuck…” you whisper, too consumed by his lips over yours to come up with something more coherent to say.
You feel Leon laugh slightly against you before he finally pulls back, his lips glistening and wet just like the rest of his body. Your hands absentmindedly trail across his slippery chest, your hands brushing against his pert nipples.
“You…” he says after letting you explore his chest for a minute, “are severely overdressed,” he says before leaning into your space, his mouth traveling over to your ear as he whispers sultrily, “take this off,” he commands you feel him tug at your shirt.
You nod, swiftly discarding your shirt and leaving you in your lacy black bra. For once you’re proud you didn’t wear a sports bra like you usually do despite how comfortable they are.
Turning back to Leon, you’re met with his gaze solely glued to your chest. His hands come up as he gingerly traces the frilly lace on top of your bra. Despite him not touching you yet, your skin burns, eager to feel his strong hands caress and squeeze you.
“Beautiful…” you hear him whisper lowly.
Without warning you see Leon duck down before you lose focus when you feel his tongue poke out to lick over your covered nipple through the lace. The feeling is euphoric as you feel his other hand massage your other breast slowly. After a second you feel his hand leave your chest and travel to your back where he fiddles with the clasp for a second before suddenly the bra hangs loosely from your chest.
“You seem to know your way around a bra…” you sigh, eyeing him with mock suspicion.
His eyes twinkle with something as he leans back to observe you once you let the bra fall from your chest. Rather than answer though, after he’s gotten an eyeful he leans back over to you and pushes his lips back onto you. This time the kiss is slower and sweeter as your lips push and pull against each other. As you kiss Leon’s hands travel up your body until both of his hands are cupping your breasts. He takes a second to feel them, his rough hands warm against your cool skin before his index finger and thumb wrap around your nipples and squeeze them slightly.
You break off the kiss to moan softly, the pressure from his fingers on your nipples sending a string of pleasure through you and down to your core. Leon eyes your reaction, a pleasantly surprised look glimmering in his eyes as he smirks at you. Before you have time to recover you feel Leon duck back down before sucking on your nipple, his teeth nibbling slightly as he alternates between your two breasts. The pleasure and pain blend perfectly and you can’t help but arch your back the more he bites your nipples before soothing the pain with a soft lick of his tongue.
“Leon…” you gasp, your hands landing on the federal agent’s strong shoulders.
“Do you want more, _____?” he asks, taking his mouth off of your hard nipple.
You nod, your eyes staring up at the ceiling as you try to get yourself together.
“I want to hear you say it. What do you want from me, _____?” You feel Leon’s breath hit your ear, the smell of the lavender and cinnamon massage oil taking over your senses and easing the tension in your body.
You wanted this man bad.
With a shaky breath, you tear your gaze away from the ceiling to look down at Leon. “I want you to fuck me.”
At your words of admission, an almost tender smile graces Leon’s face as he presses a quick kiss to your lips, “that’s all I needed to hear.”
Swiftly, Leon has your pants and underwear pulled off and sits on the edge of the bench. He taps his thighs before looking back at you, “don’t worry. I’ll be holding you the entire time.”
You sigh, eyeing him warily before biting your lip and climbing onto him. True to his word as soon as your thighs are pressed to his, his hands latch onto your hips, holding you firmly in place.
“Now just lift your hips up for me…”
Leon’s voice is soft yet stern as he looks down to eye your movements. You carefully lift yourself up before centering yourself. Leon gives you a nod before you sink down on top of him. A loud moan escapes the both of you as your body stretches a bit to accommodate him. Luckily, you were already wet enough beforehand so Leon didn’t need to worry about warming you up. As you both take a second to adjust you latch your hands around his neck, pressing your body against his as you bite back a moan and stare deeply into Leon’s icy-blue eyes.
“Are you ready?” he asks after a second passes.
You nod, “ready.”
You then begin to slowly test the waters, setting a steady pace, and begin riding him. You’re careful at first, letting your body get used to Leon before quickly picking up the pace. The feeling of Leon’s thick cock running deep inside you has you moaning in a matter of minutes as you squeeze him tightly, a tumble of curses falling from his clenched teeth as his hands hold on to you tighter the faster you move.
“Fuck… you feel amazing…” he grunts, his body glistening with both massage oil and sweat as your eyes take in the sight before you.
“You too…” you moan your eyes drinking him in, “you’re definitely the sexiest client I’ve ever had.”
He laughs airly, his eyes opening briefly to look at you, “I’m sure you say that to every client.”
You know he’s joking but you feel the need to clarify to him anyway, “I mean it. I’ve never done this with a client before and… ever since you walked in I’ve had a hard time being professional. That’s why I was so excited when you first moaned when I touched your thigh.”
You see a slight blush cross over Leon’s cheeks. Whether it’s from him having to keep you upright or because of your words you’re not sure, but it looks cute on him regardless.
“Since we’re both confessing. I thought you looked extremely sexy when I first saw you. I actually planned on skipping this because it was my coworkers who had initially signed me up for this but…” he pauses, his eyes full of sincerity as he speaks, “I’m glad I didn’t.”
This time it’s you who’s blushing as you take in his words. Leon simply smiles brightly at you before crashing his lips against yours, his grip on you tightening as you begin moving faster against him, your hips rolling smoothly over his cock. After a few more minutes the heat that has been building in your core finally begins to overwhelm you, your breath coming out in harsh pants as you whisper harshly into the kiss with Leon, “I-I’m close…”
He nods, holding you close before pecking you once again on the lips, his voice quiet and husky as he leans into your ear, “come for me, _____. Let go…”
As if earning his permission your body lets go as the heat envelopes you, caressing your body and filling your entire body with pleasure as you tense up at the intense feeling, your orgasm hitting you hard and fast as you let out a loud moan.
At hearing and seeing your climax Leon quickly follows suit, his eyes squeezing shut, his mouth falling open as a sexy groan fills the air. His breathing is ragged and you feel his hold on you tighten even more. You can feel him fill you up as you begin to come down from your high. You squeeze a bit tighter on him to milk him even more earning a sly smirk from him as he tries to get himself together after finishing.
As you both come back to your senses you can’t help the small smile you have on your face as you gaze at Leon. The glow from his orgasm made him look even more alluring than he already did. You lift your hands to push his light brown hair out of his face. As you play with his hair you feel him grab your wrist lightly before bringing it down to his lips where he presses a feather-light kiss to your pulse point.
“I had a great time,” he says lowly, staring deeply into your eyes.
“Same here…” you sigh, sagging your body against him as his hands wrap around you, holding you in place.
“I think my session is up though.”
You sigh, your ear pressed to his chest as you listen to his heartbeat.
“But I’d like to make a reservation for another session in a few days if you’re available.”
You lift your face off of his chest to stare at him in disbelief, you figured this was a one-and-done deal. “You want to do this again?”
He nods, clearly amused at your reaction as a gentle smile takes over his face, “of course. You were able to take my mind off of my job and that’s a pretty damn hard thing to do.”
You smile widely at the man before pressing a quick kiss to his lips, “I’d be honored to take you on as a client, Leon S. Kennedy.”
Leon chuckles as he kisses you back before pulling back and tucking a piece of hair behind your ear.
“You know you still have your free sauna that comes with your package. You could redeem that for your next session.” You inform with a smile.
Leon looks at you before a twinkle appears in his eyes as he pulls you closer to him, his arm wrapping more protectively around you as he speaks softly, “as long as you join me… I’d be down for anything.”
You seal the deal with a tender kiss, entangled in one another’s arms as the smell of lavender and cinnamon cascade over you, the candlelights flickering gently around you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You clutched the vintage leather of Leon’s jacket deftly in your grip as you pleaded with him not to leave. You felt your fingers begin to ache with how much pressure it took to keep your boyfriend from going as you stopped him from exiting your shared bedroom, his frame caught in the middle of the doorframe as he looked back at you with an amused expression.
“Do you plan on doing that for the entirety of my 12-hour shift?” he asked with a slight chuckle, his voice low and soothing.
You gripped him tighter, “yes.”
You felt Leon shift to face you before he quickly tore your fingers off of his jacket, his hands encapsulating your wrists as he pulled you towards him. Your body followed his command without resistance, bumping against his strong torso as he looked down at you.
“Y’know I don’t want to leave either,” he whispered softly as his lips tried to appease you with a featherlight kiss on your cheek.
You simply huffed at the gesture, you were going to need a lot more than a peck on the cheek to let this man go. “Then stay,” you countered, your lips pulling down into a shallow frown.
Looking up at Leon left you with the sight of him smiling down at your antics. His eyes were warm as they captured your morning image of tangled hair, puffy eyes, and slightly raspy voice. He thought you were adorable, but he really needed to leave. Leon’s eyes briefly flicked away from your sullen expression to check the time on his watch. He had to go in the next 15 minutes or he’d get his ass chewed out again for being late.
“Baby… you know I can’t. I really have to go.” Leon stated, his voice soft yet firm as his eyes met yours once again.
You sighed as you sagged your body into your boyfriend’s firm one, his hands immediately wrapped around you protectively in his comforting embrace. You knew you were being a brat but you couldn’t help it. Every time Leon left for work he always came back worse than when he left. Just last week he came back with a large bruise on the side of his abdomen that he refused to tell you the origin of.
You knew he kept you out of his work for your own good so you wouldn’t worry about it but you couldn’t help but feel guilty every time you watched him kiss you goodbye before heading to work, knowing you were letting him leave only to come back hurt. You knew this was Leon’s job and that he was capable of handling whatever missions he received, but you still wanted to hold onto him for as long as you could before he left.
With your head resting on Leon’s chest you listened closely to his heartbeat that pumped rhythmically against your ear. You found the sound comfortingly. Finally, after a second you spoke up, your voice quiet, “will you at least let me make you breakfast before you go?”
“Baby-”
“I’ll be quick! I swear!” You reassured him, knowing that he was going to try to get out of you cooking for him.
A second of quiet stretched between you two before you heard Leon sigh from above you, his hand resting on top of your head and combing through your hair as he acquiesced, “okay ____, I’ll stay for you. But then I really have to leave, deal?”
You raised your head off of Leon’s chest to look up at him with a wide smile while nodding fervently, “deal!”
Not wanting to waste whatever time you had left with him, you quickly pulled away from your boyfriend before dashing past him and making your way to the kitchen which consisted of marble countertops and white wooden cabinets.
Leon watched as you made your way to the kitchen, a soft laugh escaping his lips as he followed behind you, his eyes never leaving you as you moved about the kitchen. You quickly pulled out your black metal griddle, a bowl, and a plate along with milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and bread.
“French toast?” Leon guessed as he took a seat in one of the bar stools that was settled in front of the island, a perfect spot for admiring you cook in front of him.
You hummed in response, a closed-lipped smile on your face as you began mixing all the ingredients in a bowl before pouring the batter onto a plate. Leon always loved your french toast and you hoped that this would hopefully make his upcoming grueling day at work a little better.
After letting the bread soak in the batter you quickly turned around and began placing the two pieces of bread on the griddle, cooking it on low heat so that it would fry evenly. Unbeknownst to you, when you turned around Leon couldn’t help but admire your body. You were still in your pajamas which consisted of a thin tank top paired with shorts that did little to cover what was underneath.
Leon shifted uncomfortably in his seat, the strain in his pants making its presence painfully known as he did his best to focus on the amazing breakfast you went out of your way to make for him and not on the thought of fucking you on these expensive counters.
“Leon?”
Your voice pulled the federal agent away from his distracting thoughts as he looked up to see you gazing back at him from over your shoulder, your eyebrows furrowed in concern. Shit, he didn’t want you worrying more about him than he knew you already were on a daily basis.
“Sorry _____, I just zoned out is all,” he stated as he slipped off of his seat before walking over to you, leaning against the counter as he watched you flip over the two pieces of bread.
“It’s alright, the food’s almost done.” You said with a small smile, still a bit on edge over Leon’s expression earlier when you turned to ask him if he wanted strawberries with his toast.
Your boyfriend saw that your mind was still focused on his distracted behavior earlier, he could see the flicker of concern that pooled in your eyes. He really didn’t want you to be stressed over this while he was away and figured the best way to convince you that he was indeed okay, was to show you exactly what had him so distracted.
With the idea firmly planted in his head, Leon took another quick glance at his watch to see that he had about 10 minutes left before he had to go. That would be plenty of time.
“Baby, stop worrying,” Leon said soothingly as he looked back down to see you plating the toast, your attention focused solely on the food in front of you.
He chuckled to himself at your intense concentration before moving behind you, his pelvis pressing against your ass as he leaned over your shoulder, his voice low as he mumbled into your ear, “I just got distracted by you.”
You momentarily froze when you felt Leon move behind you and press himself lightly against you. Despite him not applying a lot of pressure, you could feel the faint outline of his hard erection poking you. Paired with his whispered words, you had practically short-circuited. His voice caressed you and fanned over your neck before being overtaken by his soft lips that lightly pecked your heated skin just below your ear.
What was this man doing?
“L-Leon…” you huffed out after you felt Leon’s leather-gloved hands roam over your thighs and higher up your legs, resting on the waistband of your shorts.
“Yes?” You heard him mumble from behind you, his kisses on your neck coercing you to tilt your head to the side to allow him better access.
“You…you have work…” you tried to counter, doing your best to hold on to your rationality.
Leon chuckled softly against your skin, his body pressing against you even more than before as he speaks, “weren’t you the one trying to get me to stay just a minute ago?”
You sighed in frustration. Partly because Leon was using your words against you and partly because now you were extremely horny. You felt your core ignite in heat and desire, already feeling yourself getting wet just from Leon’s touch resting around your waist.
“I was, but-”
“But?” Leon’s hands began to slip off of your body as he took a step away from you, his voice was low and teasing, “should we just stop then?”
You rolled your eyes as you turned to face him. Your hands reached out to grab his leather jacket once again before forcing him closer to you as you speak, “nope. You don’t get to leave after teasing me like that.”
Leon flashed a wolfish grin at you, his eyes drinking you in, “we have 8 minutes.”
“Then what are you waiting for?” You asked with a devilish smile.
Your boyfriend didn’t even bother to respond as he simply crashed his lips upon yours, his tongue slipping out to taste yours as you moaned into the kiss. You felt his strong hands grab your ass, massaging the soft malleable muscle while pulling you harder against him.
You felt his boner even more clearly now as it rubbed against your thigh. As you kissed your hand traveled down to lightly grip Leon’s desire, eliciting a soft groan from his lips as he pulled away from the kiss.
You smiled up at him before glancing down at his watch to see that you guys had 6 minutes left now. You didn’t have time for the usual foreplay that the two of you liked to indulge in. You’d have to save that for later.
“Fuck me, Leon.” You said plainly.
Your boyfriend’s eyes widened slightly in surprise before a licentious smile crossed over his slightly puffy lips. He raised his thumb up to your lips, smearing the saliva covering your lips even more. “So needy,” he teased, but he was more than ready to fulfill his earlier fantasy.
Without any further pretense, Leon quickly gripped your ass and lifted you up on the cold island counter. You shivered as your thighs pressed flatly against the marble surface, but you barely had time to register the shock of the cold on your warm skin since Leon was already yanking your shorts and underwear down to your ankles until they inevitably fell on the wooden floor.
“‘So needy.’” You mocked at seeing the urgency in which Leon seemed to be in to fuck you.
“It’s you… I can’t help it.” your boyfriend stated with a slight chuckle, his lips curving upwards in a smirk as his icy-blue eyes took in your half-naked body.
His eyes dipped down to your heat. You were so ready for him, you didn’t even need to be warmed up but you didn’t complain when Leon’s index and middle finger briefly explored the folds of your core.
Your hands jumped up to grip his shoulders as you relished in the feeling of his fingers sliding through you before he slipped both of them in without warning. You gasped at the sudden intrusion before it was swallowed by Leon’s lips on yours. His fingers pushed deeper inside you as he kissed you, it was messy, hot, and passionate as you felt your hips try to push against Leon’s fingers, wanting him deeper inside you.
Before you could succeed in your attempt, however, Leon slipped his fingers out of you. You whined at the movement, “I was starting to get close.”
Leon laughed at the whine in your voice before leaning over to your ear and whispering softly, “not without me, baby.”
Your boyfriend then brought his fingers that had just been inside you up to your lips.
“Taste yourself, _____.”
You didn’t need any further convincing as you obliged his request, your tongue sliding over the two fingers Leon delicately placed in your mouth. You sucked all your juices off of his digits diligently while gazing up to catch Leon’s reaction who watched with wrapped attention, his eyes focused squarely on every roll and flick of your tongue across the pads of his fingers.
“Fuck…” you heard him moan softly after you popped your mouth off of his fingers.
You smiled smugly at the man in front of you, pleasing Leon was always a treat for you and if you had more time you’d have already been on your knees for him with him deep in your mouth. But unfortunately, a hesitant glance at his watch told you that you only had 4 minutes left.
“Did you still want to…?” You asked when you caught Leon’s attention who had also frowned when checking the time on his watch.
He nodded at your question, “yeah. You were close right?”
You frowned, “I was. But I know that’s not enough time to get you off.”
Your boyfriend smiled softly at your words as he brought his hand up to softly caress your cheek. He pecked a sweet kiss on your forehead as he spoke intimately into the little space that blocked the two of you, “I get off on your pleasure.”
You felt heat spread throughout your body as your heart seemed to explode with warmth at Leon’s sincere words. Still, you couldn’t help the nagging guilt that pulled at your thoughts, “are you sure, Leon?”
Leon simply smiled at your question, amused at how concerned you were about him climaxing. He answered you with the same small smile and warm tone, “I’m sure, _____. Now, will you please let me fuck you for the next 4 minutes?”
You chuckled at his question before nodding, granting him permission to completely wreck you with the short amount of allotted time you guys had. Leon’s smile widened when he saw you nod as he pressed one more short kiss to your lips before quickly pulling out his dick and pushing it inside you. His length and girth alone were enough to make you completely fall apart but you held yourself together as Leon pulled you closer to the edge of the counter so he could more easily push into you.
After giving you a second to adjust, Leon began moving inside you. Normally, he would gradually increase his pace when fucking you. Leon loved watching the pleasure slowly build inside you, he loved seeing how your moans would get louder with every thrust as he moves faster and faster against you. But, due to the limited time, he had to instead just fuck you hard and fast to get you to come.
His pace was ruthless and took you completely by surprise. It was rare for Leon to fuck you so brutally as he liked taking things slow. You knew that he was doing it so that you would climax in the next 4 minutes but at this rate you weren’t sure if you would even be able to last that long. You felt Leon’s dick run deeper and deeper inside you, hitting every spot with such velocity that you were helpless to try to stay coherent. All you could do was moan and cry out for him, your hands gripping his jacket while your head faced the ceiling with your eyes squeezed shut.
Leon watched you with amusement as he moved against you. The sounds you were making were incredibly sexy- almost enough to make him cum. His eyes darted to your neck before he leaned in and began nipping at the skin there. That was definitely going to leave some marks, but the pleasure coursing through you was too powerful for you to care.
You supposed you’d just have to wear a turtleneck to work today.
Leon continued sucking and biting on your neck as he fucked into you. The combination of pleasure and pain mixed with his incredibly fast pace had you coming in the next minute or so. Your body tensed as you announced to Leon that you were coming which he already knew but simply hummed in acknowledgment- not stopping any of his ministrations.
An intense feeling dominated all of your senses as you came, your body shaking and trembling at the magnitude of the pleasure ensnaring you in its intoxicating clutch. By the time the tendrils of your high began to slowly fade you were completely spent as your chest heaved up and down. Your dazed eyes blearily gazed over to see Leon pulling out of you, a sheen of sweat covering his clear skin.
“Are you okay?” you heard him ask as he began to gingerly put your clothes back on you.
You knew he most definitely had to leave now, but you appreciated that he still made sure you were in order before heading to work. “I’m fine… thank you, baby. That was…” your voice trailed off as you lifted your hand and directed Leon’s attention back to your face. You leaned forward and pecked his lips to which he reciprocated. “Will you be okay?” You asked after pulling back from the kiss.
Leon smiled softly at you as he spoke tenderly, “I’ll be fine, _____. As long as you’re okay.”
You listened to Leon and did your best to believe that he’d be fine despite not having an orgasm of his own. Your hands reached up and fixed his hair back in place as he continued speaking.
“Now. I really need to go. I’ll see you later, okay? Text me when you get to work.” Leon pressed a quick kiss to your cheek before helping you down from the counter and grabbing his bag and heading to the front door.
You watched him for a second before you remembered something, “wait!” you called out to him before rushing to the forgotten french toast. You quickly put it in a Ziploc bag before dashing over to the front door where Leon waited anxiously for you. “Your breakfast,” you said, handing the bag over to your boyfriend who took it with a wide smile.
“You’re the best,” he says before offering you one last kiss on the lips and heading out the door.
You watch his retreating back as he heads to his car. While you would definitely still worry about his well-being while he was away, you were excited to see him when he came back home. You already had some ideas on how to repay him for his efforts this morning and this time- you wouldn’t have any time restraints keeping you from pleasing the man that you loved.

Jimin had just about had it with his boyfriend. The two years of trust, care, and love he had devoted and poured into his partner were wasted and spilled all over their bed as Jimin stormed out of the room after witnessing his boyfriend fucking someone else upon entering his bedroom.
“Baby- wait!”
Jimin ignored the pleas of his now ex-boyfriend as he snatched his car keys from the kitchen counter, quickly striding over to the front door before he felt a hot hand grip his shoulder.
“Fuck off!” he shouted, disgust framing the scowl on his face at the thought of his ex-boyfriend's hand on his body after it had touched someone else.
“Jimin- wait, please! It isn’t what it looks like.”
The man rolled his eyes as he did his best to keep the hot streaks of anger from spilling over his eyes.
“Yeah right, Taehyung. This is the second fucking time- and in our bed no less!”
The wispy tresses of the fall breeze cascaded over Jimin’s face once he made it out of the apartment building, Taehyung hot on his heels, his pleading voice quickly turning into annoyance at Jimin’s uncooperativeness.
“Jesus Jimin. Slow the fuck down! You’re being dramatic!”
The man couldn't believe the words being spewed from his ex-lover’s lips. He wouldn’t let his manipulative boyfriend talk him back into his arms again and instead focused on clearing his tear-blurred eyesight enough to spot his car in the parking garage.
“Baby, c’mon. What’re you doing?” Taehyung asked once Jimin approached his car, the vehicle chirped obediently at the click of the man’s keys.
“The fuck does it look like I’m doing, Taehyung?”
Not waiting for another response Jimin gripped the door handle of his black BMW before hauling it open and hurridly plopping himself into the sleek leather seats while Taehyung rushed to the driver’s side- narrowly avoiding getting his hand crushed in between the car door when he caught the edge of the metal frame, holding it open.
“Move or I’ll break your hand,” Jimin growled as he tried to shut the door close but sadly his boyfriend was stronger and was able to hold his stance.
“Jimin- listen. What you saw… it-it was a mistake, I swear. I’d never intentionally do anything to hurt you.”
“Great speech. Are you done now?”
The taller man huffed at his boyfriend’s response, his patience running thin as he did his best to appease him. “Really Jimin? This is how you act when I’m trying to have a serious conversation with you? This is why we could never work out.”
Jimin could feel his eyes practically fly out of his sockets, was his boyfriend always this tone-deaf? He couldn’t help but stare dumbfoundedly at the man currently stopping him from leaving, his sharp dark eyebrows furrowed thus creasing his forehead, and his eyes were filled with a brooding darkness that honed in on Jimin’s startled gaze.
“You really want to know why we never worked out? It was because you couldn’t keep it in your fucking pants and because I could never call out your manipulative bullshit. But that changes today. I’m done, Taehyung. Don’t call me, don’t text me, don’t talk to me– we’re over.” With one last look at his past, Jimin saw a flash of the joyful memories he once had with his boyfriend that had long passed before shoving the man’s hand off of his door and closing it.
Jimin had to leave, he didn’t know where the hell was going to go but he just needed to get away from the memories that plagued him at his apartment. His thoughts were all scrambled in his head and he could feel his chest begin to restrict and contract with anxiety while his heart knocked against his rib cage, a dull ache filling up the beating vessel.
He wouldn’t- no- he couldn’t think about his now ex. This day marked the beginning of a new era for Jimin. As much as he felt himself wanting to pull the car over and break down on the side of the road he instead forced his foot to press harder on the gas pedal. He needed to get away, he needed a distraction. He knew he made the right choice breaking it off with Taehyung but the pull of pain he felt at leaving the person he thought he loved for two years was a difficult adversary to ignore.
Jimin supposed that his body thought alcohol would help in quieting his pain as he soon found himself in front of one of his favorite gay bars. He used to frequent it often as his friend worked there but once he got into a relationship Taehyung demanded that he stopped going since he feared Jimin would hook up with someone from the bar.
Jimin snorted bitterly as he recalled the memory and made his way inside the club. When he entered he noted the changes that were made since the last time he had visited which included the remodeled dance floor that showcased the multicolored LED square tiles that lit up the squirming bodies that stood atop it. On the far side of the club was the bar that was now decorated in black marble countertops that matched the black walls.
Overall the bar seemed to take on a more sleek industrial theme that Jimin could appreciate as he made his way over to the bar. If he was going to get over his breakup and lavish in his newfound freedom he’d definitely need some liquor in his system as a means of liberation.
“That edible I took must’ve been laced with something unless the real Park Jimin is standing in front of me right now!”
“Taking drugs on the job, I’m appalled Mr. Kim Namjoon. I might just have to report you to Seokjin.”
Once Jimin reached the bar he was met by his friend who swiftly made his way around the counter to embrace him in a bone-crushing hug, his muscle-toned arms completely overtaking the smaller man.
“Ah, don’t worry about Jin. I have very effective ways of appeasing him…” Jimin shoved Namjoon’s arm as he observed the salacious look his friend had sent him.
“Gross. I see the two of you are still going strong.”
“Being fuck buddies with my boss is probably the best idea I’ve ever had.”
Jimin rolled his eyes as he took a seat on one of the plush bar stools while his friend went back to his station behind the somewhat crowded bar, “yeah until he finds out what a whore you are and fires you.”
Namjoon put a dramatic finger to his lips as he puckered them, “I can’t help it if I like to explore.”
A pang of hurt shot through Jimin’s eyes as he recalled his boyfriend doing some “exploring” of his own. Damn it, he came here to forget his problems and catching up on Namjoon’s latest conquests definitely wasn’t helping.
“So what brings you here?” the older man asked, thankfully moving on to a new subject after catching the solemn expression his friend made, much to Jimin’s oblivion.
“Just wanted to be out,” the cocked eyebrow on Namjoon’s face was enough to force a sigh out of the younger man as he knew Namjoon was aware of Taehyung’s ban on the place. As much as he wanted to just pretend that stint of his life didn’t exist- he couldn’t. Because his relationship with Taehyung did exist. And it took up a big part of his life that he couldn’t just drink away with a shot of tequila despite how much he wished he could. And so it was with a heavy breath that Jimin briefly filled his friend in on the events that occurred not two hours earlier.
“And you came here right after telling him off?”
Jimin nodded as his eyes picked at the bar counter until he heard his friend make a sound of joy. Snapping his head up to face his friend Jimin was met with Namjoon sporting a wide with his head thrown back, revealing several of the neck tattoos he had gotten on a whim.
“About damn time, Jimin! This calls for a fucking celebration!” Namjoon swiftly turned his back to his friend as he began picking up various bottles and glasses, his tone overcome with happiness that left Jimin speechless.
“‘About damn time’…? Wh-what are you… were you waiting for me to break up with Taehy-”
“Ah! Don’t even say that prick’s name. Tonight is all about you and your newfound freedom!”
Jimin couldn’t believe the enthusiastic reaction he was receiving from his best friend. He knew that Namjoon was never fond of Taehyung, especially after the first time he had cheated on Jimin, but it was still shocking to see how excited Namjoon was. Jimin figured that normal friends of someone who got cheated on would provide comfort rather than copious amounts of alcohol but obviously, Namjoon was not a “normal friend”.
“I got your favorite!” Namjoon turned around to reveal the three shot glasses he had been making, “top shelf shit.”
“Are you allowed to give me this? I thought this stuff was reserved for private parties.” Jimin was never one to turn down free alcohol but after abandoning the club for so long he felt like a foreigner and didn’t want to draw any more attention to him as Namjoon’s shouting had already caught the eyes of the nearby patrons.
“Don’t worry about it, Jimin. I’ll deal with Jin later,” as if settling the matter Namjoon pushed a shot glass into his nervous friend’s hand before grabbing one himself and lifting it up above him, gesturing for Jimin to do the same, “to new and exciting sex!”
Rather than ask why that was a top priority for Namjoon to cheer to, Jimin simply laughed and cheered along with his friend before throwing back the burning liquid that slid down his throat.
“So… what else has changed since I’ve been here? I see you’ve remodeled.” Jimin cleared his throat from the bitter alcohol while nodding to the new countertops as his friend poured him another shot before drinking the third shot he brought with him.
“Mmh, yeah. Jin came into some money from his side business and decided to jazz up the place to draw in more customers. And with the flood of new customers pouring in he had to hire more staff.” Namjoon paused to take a shot with his friend and after chasing it with the glass of water he poured he continued, “I gotta tell you- some of the people he hired are hot as fuck. I gotta introduce you to-”
Namjoon’s words suddenly stopped short as he snapped his head towards a familiar voice that had thrown his name into the air. Jimin did his best to hide back the laugh threatening to slip from his lips as he immediately knew the hell Namjoon was about to get and quickly poured himself another shot.
“Kim Namjoon! I know you aren’t giving away all my top-shelf liquor.”
From a door hidden to the left of the bar emerged a pissed Seokjin whose eyes narrowed dangerously onto his employee. His usual crisp suit only further heightened his menacing aura as he marched his way toward Namjoon.
“Jinnie! Listen I know you said not to use the top-shelf alcohol without authorization but-”
“But what, Namjoon? What could possibly have caused you to use my alcohol when I distinctly remember expressing to you that-”
When Jin was close enough to spot Jimin sitting at the bar he stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes locking in on his friend before a small warming smile shifted his once scowling expression to one of fondness.
“Jimin… what a surprise. It’s been a while, I’m glad to see that you’re well.”
Jimin bowed his head with a smile of his own, “hey Jin. Nice to see that you’re still chewing this asshole out when he needs it.”
“Hey!” Namjoon’s voice interjected with disbelief staining his tone as Jin quickly remembered why he had left his office in the first place.
“Right. I seem to be doing it more often than I’d like.”
“But you see why I did it! It’s Jimin!”
Jin simply pursed his lips as he folded his arms and stared sternly at the man. Namjoon didn’t seem fazed, however, as he simply slid on an easygoing smile that showcased his dimples before simmering closer to Jin and wrapping his strong arms around the man’s small waist, pulling him flush against Namjoon’s torso. He then leaned his mouth to the side of Jin’s reddening face despite the firm expression he wore.
Jimin could just barely make out the mumbled words Namjoon whispered into his employer’s blushing ear, “c’mon Jinnie~ I promise to make it up to you if you let it slide just this once…”
Jimin watched with curiosity as a tense second passed between the two until finally, Namjoon’s charm seemed to soften Jin up as the older man sighed and agreed to not duel out any punishment for spending his expensive alcohol.
“Dick must be good…” Jimin mumbled mindlessly, pouring himself another drink while his two friends began not-so-subtly flirting.
Jimin wasn’t jealous of their relationship or anything, but he did wish he could have someone to use as a distraction to take his mind off of the only person he had let touch him for the last 2 years.
“Hey- Jimin-” at the sound of his name the man forced the small frown away from his lips and looked up to face Namjoon who still had Jin wrapped in his arms, “I’m gonna go help Jin with some business in the back.”
“Uh huh, business. Sure…”
A small chuckle slipped from Namjoon’s lips, “yeah, you know how it is. Anyways I don’t want to cut your celebration short so I’m gonna send over one of the new hires I was telling you about. He’s super chill and sexy as fuck. I think he’ll be able to hold it down until I get back, okay?”
Without waiting for a response Namjoon quickly signaled to someone further down the bar who was currently being blocked by the crowd of people before giving Jimin one last charming smile and dragging Jin away to the office.
Jimin simply sighed before making a move for the abandoned bottle of tequila but was intercepted by a hand that pulled the bottle out of his reach. Jimin felt like he was tipsy enough to have the confidence to curse out whoever took away his last chance at forgetting his ex until his narrowed eyes snapped up to face the owner of the hand.
“You the guy Namjoon wanted me to pour for?”
Holy shit.
Namjoon wasn’t kidding when he said the new hires were hot- hell they were more than hot. If the strapping man standing before him was any indication it was no surprise that this place was booming with customers if all the staff looked like demons spawned from hell to fulfill every sinful desire a mortal may have.
“I was hoping you could do a little more than that…”
This guy, whoever he was, looked like the incarnation of sex. Jimin barely processed what he had said as his eyes roamed over the man who had tilted his head and raised a finely waxed eyebrow. The slight glint of his lip piercing teased Jimin from its position on the man’s small yet pouty pink lips. His soft-looking black hair was styled as a mullet, the ends of his hair curled around his neck while his parted bangs fanned the sides of his angular face. His doe-like eyes seemed to sear deep into Jimin’s soul. His eyes almost appeared to contain a certain darkness that lurked just beneath his gaze… it wasn’t malicious but rather heated and intense, forcing Jimin to break eye contact.
Instead, he turned his attention to cascade over the fabric covering the man’s body. He sported a tucked white button-up shirt paired with heavily ripped black jeans that teetered the line between professional and casual. The shirt revealed just enough of the bartender’s collarbone to warrant thoughts of imagining what lies further below on his body.
He exuded a sense of authority and power despite him being a newly hired bartender and suddenly Jimin was thankful that his best friend was such a fuck boy and allowed him to meet this beautiful man.
“Careful. I charge by the hour.” the man had quipped back, forcing Jimin out of his analysis and back into the club that was now doused in slowly flashing white strobe lights. “So what’ll you have? Seems like there’s no budget for you… must be special.”
“Special is one way to put it but I’ll take a martini.”
The bartender simply nodded with a quirked eyebrow and a small smile as he began gathering the ingredients he would need for the drink. When he turned around Jimin took the time to admire the way his shirt hugged the toned muscles of his back and the curve of his ass in his tight jeans.
“I didn’t catch your name,” Jimin managed to formulate a few words to make conversation, figuring that it might be more productive than staring at the man’s ass.
“Didn’t throw it.”
“Oh what? You charge for that too?”
Turning around, the man had a shaker in one hand and a martini glass in the other that he placed right in front of Jimin. He eyed him warily as if trying to work out his angle but if Jimin was honest with himself he was just tipsy and horny, he wasn’t sure how that was translating though, and hoped the bartender wasn’t put off by his barely cognizant words.
“And what if I do? Do you think you have enough to afford it?” in one swift movement, the man had leaned himself over the counter, one hand holding himself up as his face fell a breath away from Jimin who could barely swallow the dried spit that had settled on his tongue. He could practically see the man’s nonexistent pores if he tried hard enough and at the swipe of his pink tongue across his lips Jimin felt his eyes dart down to catch the action, the bartender’s lips suddenly glistening and tempting enough to taste.
Fuck, he wanted him bad.
But he had to get himself under control, a guy as good-looking as him had to pull with just a blink of his long eyelashes and Jimin refused to fold that quickly. He at least wanted to challenge the guy a bit, it made the ultimate goal that much more satisfying when rewarded.
Before Jimin could say or do anything he noticed the bartender pull back, an empty shaker hanging from his hand. That’s when Jimin noticed his martini glass was now miraculously filled and realized that the man had leaned in so closely to fill his drink and not for any other nefarious purposes.
“Well, how much are you worth?” Jimin almost forgot to respond to the awaiting bartender as he shifted his gaze to his drink, his hands gently clasped the shimmering stem and raised it up to his lips.
“How much do you think?”
“You tell me.”
“Mmh, I’d rather show you.”
Jimin felt his hand shake slightly as he did his best to not choke on the alcohol that had just slipped into his mouth. It had been a while since he had someone be so forward with him and now that he seemingly piqued the interest of the hot bartender he felt all that more flustered.
“I’ll give you a free pass for now though. I’m Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook.”
“Park Jimin.”
“So, Jimin. What brings you here?”
“I just wanted a nice distraction.”
Jungkook smirked at that, his lips lifting slightly to reveal his shiny teeth, “it’s a good thing you met me then.”
Jimin cocked an eyebrow as he took another sip from his drink before he responded, “oh? And why is that?”
“Because it looks like I’ve already got you thoroughly distracted with my presence alone,” the bartender’s tone was low and smooth as he spoke, almost as if he was casting a spell on Jimin which only worked to prove his point further.
He had, in fact, forgotten about Taehyung the second this man had walked up to him, but that didn’t mean he needed to know that. So he forced a scoff to escape his lips as he leaned back a bit in his chair with his arms and legs crossed as a means to come off as nonchalant as possible.
“And who told you that?”
“Just that little blush on your cheeks,” without warning Jungkook had leaned over the counter once again but this time it was his arms that reached out to Jimin as a slender finger brushed lightly against his flushed cheek. The short-lasting touch felt like it had imprinted onto Jimin’s cheek once Jungkook pulled back with a self-satisfied smirk. His finger was so warm when it tenderly caressed his cheek and the movement had also caused the sleeves of Jungkook’s shirt to ride up a little, revealing a full sleeve of tattoos that only turned Jimin on even more. “Hm, your cheeks look a little redder now…”
“That’s not fair! You took me by surprise.”
“Who said anything about being fair? I distracted you didn’t I? Seems like I did my job.”
“If that’s how you complete jobs I’m surprised you haven’t been fired yet.” Jimin couldn’t help the slight pout of his lips as the alcohol in his system seemed to make him more bratty than usual.
Jungkook, however, appeared to be mildly entertained by the man in front of him but before he could tease him further a voice from further down the bar broke through the atmosphere.
“Kook! Need you down here!”
Jimin lifted his head up to try to connect a face to the disembodied voice but was only met with the teeming bodies of bartenders rushing around to complete orders and patrons chatting jovially with drinks in their hands.
Turning his attention back to Jungkook Jimin noted the way his tongue poked the inside of his cheek, his furrowed eyebrows and his hip leaning against the side of the counter.
“Sorry, cutie. Duty calls. I had fun being your distraction though… find me if you need another,” with a wink and a flash of his smile the man was gone, weaving his way behind the bar and toward the voice that had called him.
Left with nothing but his thoughts and a half-empty martini Jimin felt the rush of his blood swell in his cheeks as he did his best to calm the beat of his heart. This Jungkook fellow definitely had a slick tongue and Jimin wanted to see if it could do more than just talk. They had only conversed for a few minutes and yet the man had ignited a flame of desire within him that had once been put out by his ex. Jimin hadn’t felt this infatuated with someone in a long time and he wasn’t sure how to take it.
Was Jungkook’s words an invitation for more? Did he really want him to find him and ask for sex? Was sex what he was even offering? What if he just meant that he’d make him another drink and Jimin just read the situation entirely wrong?
He couldn’t take the embarrassment if he asked the bartender to sleep with him and was rejected.
“Jimin!”
Hearing his name the man shook his head to clear his thoughts and when he returned back to reality he was met with his friend standing in front of him, his clothes ruffled and hair sticking up in places it hadn’t before.
“Namjoon…? What’re you doing back here? I thought you and Jin-”
Namjoon nodded with a sigh, his thumb swiping over his puffy lip, “Jin got a call and had to take it so he kicked me out. Just when things were getting good too.” he huffed despondently at the interruption.
“Okay. Didn’t need that extra detail at the end but…”
Namjoon brushed off Jimin’s comment as his head swiveled around the bar before landing back on his friend, a raised eyebrow prompting his question, “where’s Jungkook?”
“Oh. Someone called him for something. He just left.”
“Damn it, did you at least get some blow while I was away?”
“Namjoon, what?” Jimin couldn’t help the shock that filtered through his voice at the implication his friend had made, “it’s only been a few minutes!”
“That’s still enough time to-”
“Joon, all we did was talk and it was… nice. He was cool. I liked him.”
Namjoon rolled his eyes, “yeah, yeah that’s nice but I was hoping you’d do a bit more than that. I could’ve sworn he was your type…”
Jimin felt his cheeks get hot as he recalled the way Jungkook had looked at him with his wide eyes and pierced lips. “He’s not not my type…”
“Huh?”
“I mean he wasn’t that bad… he was kinda cute…” Jimin’s voice trailed off as he talked, his mumbled words of admission making it hard to face his friend who stared confoundedly at him.
“What? Jimin I can’t hear you.”
“He was hot, okay? He was beautiful and I wanted him to fuck me right here on this counter, you happy?” Jimin knew he was drawing attention with how loud he was shouting, but he was too heated to care at the moment.
“Well I’m glad you admitted it but what are you doing telling me? Go and tell him and then get laid.”
“You make it sound easy…”
“It literally is.”
Jimin simply shook his head as his eyes lowered back down to his martini glass, his small fingers fiddling with the drink.
A second of terse quiet settled between the two, the background noise of people talking and laughing along with the pumping bass from the music filling the space between them before Namjoon’s voice broke the quiet, his tone uncharacteristically gentle.
“Listen, Jimin… I know you're still dealing with the breakup and I don’t want to pressure you into anything you don’t want to do but… if you like Jungkook and want to do something with him then I think you should and not just because I heard he’s packing.” Jimin couldn’t help the small smile that spread across his lips as he listened to his friend talk, “I think Jungkook could help you move on, but only if you want him to. It’s up to you and I’ll respect whatever you decide to choose.”
“Thanks, Namjoon. I appreciate that, seriously.”
Namjoon nodded with a small smirk before raising his hands, “what can I say? I can be gentle when I need to be. Besides the hoes love duality.”
Jimin shook his head at his friend who simply laughed at his own corny joke before focusing back on what he was going to do. It didn’t take long for him to come to a conclusion when he realized his ex had probably already moved on and fucked about three people up till this point. It was his turn to have some fun.
With his resolve set, Jimin picked up his drink and finished it off in one fell swoop before hopping down from his seat and marching off in the direction he saw Jungkook walk in, the sounds of his friends' hoops and hollers echoing behind him.
Forcing himself through the crowd of people who had gathered around the bar was hell but Jimin was determined as he mumbled out apologies whenever he elbowed someone until his ears latched onto the sound of someone's voice from behind the bar.
“Kook, can you go get some more cocktail glasses from the kitchen? We’re running low.”
Snapping his head up Jimin caught sight of Jungkook as he just finished pouring a customer’s drink, the white strobe lights created shadows that flashed over his face and swallowed his eyes in darkness. He nodded his head to whoever had called him and made his way to the side of the bar, lifting the countertop up and heading towards the kitchen.
Jimin never felt himself speed walk faster than he did when he followed after Jungkook who was halfway to the kitchen before he caught up to him. Grasping his arm, Jimin stopped the bartender who turned around with confusion written over his face that quickly morphed into amusement upon meeting Jimin’s face.
“Jimin? Did you follow me?”
“Yes, yes I did.”
Jungkook smiled devilishly at Jimin’s straightforwardness before speaking, his voice raised a bit louder due to the music blaring next to them, “did you need something?”
The shorter man felt his tongue run dry as he did his best to not let his words falter. He wanted- needed this man and he’d be damned if he messed it up now after embarrassing himself by chasing after him. So with a steadying breath, Jimin squared his eyes on Jungkook and tested his luck.
“I was looking for another distraction if the offer was still open?”
Jimin was slightly taken aback at the smile that had widened on the bartender’s face. His smile was surprisingly… cute? His two front teeth were a bit longer than the others and his wide eyes were crescent-shaped as his nose scrunched up slightly making the intimidating man look almost innocent.
“The offer is very much still open,” those words almost made Jimin’s knees weak as he held back the giggle of excitement he felt in his throat, “my shift ends in ten. You think you could be good and wait for me at the front till then? I’ll make it worth your while.”
Jimin nodded obediently at the man’s request eliciting another smile from Jungkook who caressed his cheek before winking and heading back to carry out his last-minute duties. Jimin couldn’t be more excited as he quickly made his way to the front of the club but not before throwing Namjoon a thumbs up from across the room.
It didn’t take long for Jungkook to finish up his shift and soon the two left the dark building together to enter the dark of the night that was dotted with the small scattered lights of the distant stars. The winter breeze was cutting through Jimin’s shirt but luckily Jungkook’s leather jacket that he had let him wear on their way to his car was enough to keep him relatively warm. Jimin had sobered up for the most part by this point but they both agreed it would still be best to take Jungkook’s car to his apartment rather than risk Jimin driving. There was also a small chance that Jimin’s ex could still be in his apartment and the last thing the man needed was to see Taehyung interact with his one-night stand and ruin his night.
“I’m surprised you asked me to spend the night with you.” Jungkook’s voice forced Jimin away from his increasingly burdensome thoughts as the two sped down the empty highway.
The concentrated orange lights from the lampposts doused Jungkook’s skin with a warm glow as he drove with one hand on the steering wheel while the other rubbed small circles along Jimin’s inner thigh.
His touch made it hard for the smaller man to concentrate but he did his best to answer his question with a semblance of thought, “you were surprised? Why?”
Jungkook shrugged as a lazy smile spread across his lips, “you looked content on your own, honestly.”
“Looks can be deceiving…”
A second of silence swooped over the two and Jimin began to regret saying anything. He couldn’t exactly read the look on Jungkook’s face but figured he definitely killed the mood. Why would he say something like that to someone who was practically a stranger? Jungkook didn’t want to hear about his problems and Jimin needed to get them back on track if they were gonna enjoy their night together.
With renewed vigor Jimin cleared his throat before he spoke, his voice taking on an airy tone that matched the quiet of the night around them, “but you were hard to resist…” as he spoke Jimin moved his hand to land on top of Jungkook’s thigh, his fingers moving closer and closer to the precipice of the man’s desire with each word he uttered.
“Jimin…” Jungkook’s voice was low almost blending into the hum of the car engine that rumbled softly underneath them.
Jimin couldn’t tell if his companion was warning him to stop or probing him to keep going but regardless he kept his hand lightly tracing over the ever-hardening bulge that pushed against the tight fabric of Jungkook’s pants.
“Jimin…” Jungkook’s voice was followed by an unsteady breath of air, as if talking took a great deal of effort while he flexed his hands that gripped the steering wheel, “as good as that feels if you don’t stop I’m going to end up crashing this car.”
“Hm… but you feel so good under my touch.” Jimin punctuated his words with a tight squeeze of Jungkook’s bulge who grunted in response, the sound sending blood rushing down Jimin’s body.
Rather than respond Jungkook took a tight breath of air before seemingly pressing harder on the gas pedal sending the car further down the highway. Jimin took a steadying breath as he watched the trees and street lights fly by him, the bass from the music playing lulled him into a peaceful state while he did his best to calm down the fast beat of his heart.
The rest of the drive was relatively uneventful as the pair quickly made it back to the apartment complex Jungkook resided at. As the two got into the elevator headed for the fifth floor Jimin took note of how nice everything looked, he figured these apartments were new and when he walked into Jungkook’s spacious apartment it was even more evident.
Everything in the apartment was clean and the furniture looked well-kept as Jimin was led into the bedroom that sported a large king-sized bed with a fluffy gray comforter.
“Ah! Sorry about the mess, I was in a rush earlier,” Jimin turned in time to see Jungkook picking up a pile of scattered clothes before tossing them into his closet.
“It’s fine… that’s not what I was focusing on anyways…” the slow drawl of Jimin’s voice seemed to catch the bartender’s attention as the man’s once apologetic eyes became hooded and dark within the dim room, the only light illuminating each other was from the haunting glow of the moon.
Rather than wait for a response Jimin simply walked up to Jungkook before slowly backing him up against his bed, forcing the man to sit. His wide eyes never left Jimin’s face until the man in question began slowly stripping off his clothes, his hands running smoothly over his bare chest once his shirt fluttered off of his body.
Jimin wasn’t exactly sure what he was doing when he began taking off his shirt. In all honestly, he was just improvising; especially when he straddled Jungkook whose hands instinctively clutched his lower back. Jimin thought he was doing well with all things considered.
Taehyung was never one for foreplay or romance during sex, intimacy just wasn’t something he would initiate, and thus Jimin was left with the responsibility to force the love and intimacy that should have already been present in the relationship. At first, Jimin figured that they were going through a rough patch and that if he just kept improving his sex game then eventually Taehyung would reciprocate. It wasn’t until Jimin first caught his ex-boyfriend cheating that it all started to click.
“Jimin…? Are you okay?”
Shaking his head, Jimin was met with Jungkook’s furrowed eyebrows and shallow frown. Shit, he was messing this up by thinking about his dumb ex.
“Yeah, I’m fine sorry.”
Jungkook cocked an eyebrow, “are you sure?”
“Totally,” not wanting to feel Jungkook’s inquisitive stare, Jimin leaned his lips to the side of the bartender’s face before peppering him with small pecks and moving his hips in a small circular motion over Jungkook’s bulge.
The low raspy moan that escaped Jungkook’s lips was like music to Jimin’s ears as he pressed himself further into the man’s lap.
“You feel so good…”
Jimin smiled to himself at the confession before whispering back, “I taste even better.”
“May I get a free sample?”
Leaning back Jimin was greeted by Jungkook’s intense expression. His eyes were bright even in the darkness of his room and his skin looked just as soft as the bed he was sitting on. Jimin watched Jungkook’s eyes dart down to his lips before meeting his gaze once again, a silent prose for permission which Jimin granted with a small nod.
Without further pretense, Jungkook leaned in slowly before pressing his lips upon Jimin’s. His kisses were so… different from Taehyung which is to be expected but even still the man couldn’t help the small gasp of surprise that escaped him when feeling the gentle and patient lips that careened over him.
While it felt nice Jimin couldn’t seem to rid himself of a feeling he could only recognize as disgust and shame. How did he not realize sooner that Taehyung had stopped loving him a long time ago? There was a time when he used to kiss Jimin the same way Jungkook was, with tenderness and care but after a while, those kisses turned into quick pecks on the cheek and eventually nothing at all.
He was pathetic. Pathetic for staying with someone who cared so little about him and pathetic for letting the man still have control over him at a time when he should be enjoying himself. Jimin was so overwhelmed by his thoughts that he didn’t even notice that Jungkook had stopped kissing him and instead studied him for a few seconds before breaking the trance Jimin seemed to be in.
“Jimin, what’s wrong? Seriously.”
Hearing the genuine concern lace Jungkook’s voice is what pulled Jimin away from his thoughts, his eyes blurring from unshed tears that he did his best to blink away.
“Was it me? You can tell me if you’re uncomfortable and want to leave. I’ll understand. I just want to make sure you’re okay.”
“No! No, it-it’s not you, I swear. I’m just-” Jimin couldn’t bring himself to finish his sentence when he looked at the man in front of him. Jungkook didn’t deserve this. He didn’t need Jimin to trauma-dump on him.
“What is it, Jimin? You can tell me, I won’t judge. Actually… hold on.” Without warning Jungkook gently moved Jimin off of his lap before rushing out of the room.
Jimin heard the sound of cabinets opening and closing along before seeing Jungkook come back in a few seconds later with a full glass in his hand.
“Iced tea. It helps calm me down, so I figured it might help you too. I hope you don’t mind.” Passing the drink to Jimin, Jungkook took a seat next to him on the bed while still leaving a respectable amount of space between them.
Jimin was grateful for how careful and patient Jungkook was being with him but he couldn’t help the burning sense of shame he felt imprint on his cheeks. He truly did want to sleep with Jungkook but he couldn’t help but be reminded of how horribly Taehyung had treated him when in comparison to this stranger who was so kind to him.
A few seconds of quiet filled the dark room while Jimin took the time to collect his thoughts, the tea helped in soothing his intrusive thoughts. He knew Jungkook wasn’t going to ask him to explain himself, but Jimin still felt like he owed him an explanation, if for nothing else, for his own peace of mind.
“I know I probably seem crazy…” Jimin’s voice was soft as he angled his face to the ground, his eyes trying their best to focus on the small details of the tan carpet rather than on Jungkook’s gaze.
“No, of course not.”
Jimin laughed dryly, “you don’t have to lie. I know I look like a mess it’s just… I had just broken up with my boyfriend earlier today. I, uh, caught him cheating on me in our apartment.” Jimin held his breath as he waited to hear some sort of scolding or chastising from Jungkook but was instead met with silence, prompting him to continue before he lost his nerve. “I guess seeing the way you’ve treated me made me realize just how broken my relationship was.”
A pair of warm hands enveloped Jimin as he spoke, his words cracking as he did his best to choke down a sob from exiting his lips. Jungkook’s strong arms held onto Jimin, his thumb rubbing small circles over his bare arm while Jimin rested his head against Jungkook’s chest, his heartbeat thumping in a comforting rhythm. For a while, no one moved. Jungkook was so warm and being encapsulated in his arms lulled Jimin into a state of pure contentment after his admission.
“Y’know… I’ve had my fair share of relationships. About half of them have ended with my sorry ass crying on the couch while watching a corny romance movie even though I was the one who ended the relationships.” Jungkook’s voice was soft and low, his warm tone resembling a cozy fire that kept you safe in the midst of winter, “it’s okay to feel hurt, Jimin. To grieve. You’re not crazy for having a normal human reaction to a relationship ending.”
“I know, I just don’t want you to think I’m using you for a rebound or anything I just-”
“If you’re not ready that’s totally fine. Honestly, I’m okay with just watching a movie if that’ll make you feel better. And not to brag but my movie collection is pretty superior.”
That earned a small chuckle from Jimin who agreed to Jungkook’s proposition as the pair then moved to the living room. Jungkook let Jimin pick the first movie while he made them popcorn before they both settled down on the leather couch.
Jimin, who was now wearing one of Jungkook’s band t-shirts, made himself comfortable on the couch with his legs curled up under the oversized shirt while leaning into Jungkook’s side as a large blanket covered the two. At first, Jimin felt a bit sheepish about watching movies with someone he was planning on having sex with but Jungkook never made Jimin feel bad about it and instead would make corny jokes about the movie and tell small anecdotes of memories he had connected to the movie.
“-and then they stood on top of the counter and reenacted the pose. They had the DJ change the music and everything too.”
“You’re lying!”
“I swear I’m not!”
Jimin couldn’t help the string of laughter that left his lips as his brain conjured up a visual of Jungkook’s story, “there’s no way Namjoon and Jin reenacted that titanic scene at the bar.”
Jungkook huffed despondently before reaching to grab his phone with a determined look plastered over his face, “we can call Jin and ask him-”
“No! I believe you.” with a laugh Jimin leaned over Jungkook to grab the phone before he lifted the device out of Jimin’s reach, leaving him an inch away from Jungkook’s face.
A second of tentative divisiveness clouded Jimin’s head as he simply stared at Jungkook who did the same. As the moment stretched on and the movie became a forgotten memory playing quietly in the background Jimin felt his own desire to pleasure Jungkook begin to fill his head.
Here he was with this gorgeous man looking at him with his beautiful bright eyes, how was he supposed to resist him? Without uttering a word Jimin pressed a quick kiss to the bartender’s lips before he moved off of the couch and positioned himself to be stationed in front of Jungkook’s legs. With a slow and sensual touch, Jimin eased open Jungkook’s legs while his eyes stayed focused on the bartender’s cautious yet intrigued reaction. Jimin ran the pads of his fingertips lightly over the dark denim fabric, his fingers brushing against Jungkook’s bulge eliciting a small gasp of surprise from the man above. But before he could go further, Jimin’s hands were overtaken by Jungkooks’ who gazed down at him with a worried expression.
“You don’t have to do this, Jimin. I know you’re still mourning your last relationship and I don’t want you to feel like you owe me any sexual favors if that’s not what you want to do.”
Jimin sweetly smiled up at Jungkook, he couldn’t believe just how mature he really was and it only made Jimin more firm in what he was going to do. “I appreciate that Jungkook, I really do. But trust me, I want to do this. Will you let me?”
The man in question seemed stunned by Jimin’s response as he only managed a quick nod of his head. His eyes somehow widened even more as he watched Jimin work.
Pulling Jungkook’s hardened cock from undeneath his tight boxers left Jimin practically salivating at the sight, this man had probably one of the prettiest dicks in the world. His blushing pink tip glistened with precum as the sticky substance rolled delicately down Jungkook’s veiny curved shaft. Jimin wasted no time connecting his lips to the tip, smearing the precum across his lips before dashing his tongue out to taste it, his eyes snapping up to catch the moan that left Jungkook’s lips who watched in anticipation.
He tasted sweet which was a good sign as Jimin wasn’t sure if he could handle giving head to someone whose cum tasted like battery acid. Moving his lips further down the tip Jimin made sure to accentuate the movements of his tongue by delicately lavishing the slit of Jungkook’s cock before he relaxed his jaw and took more of the bartender into his mouth.
“F-fuck, Jimin…” Jungkook’s voice was hoarse and strained while he spoke, from the corner of his eye Jimin observed the way he clenched the forgotten blanket, his knuckles turning a ghostly white from the pressure.
Rather than respond Jimin simply hummed before he gradually moved his mouth up and down Jungkook’s shaft, his ministrations leaving a trail of saliva over the throbbing cock. The deeper Jimin took him the louder Jungkook became, glancing up at the bartender left a stunning visual of Jungkook’s head rolled back, his eyes clenched shut, and gorgeous lips rippling with explicit sounds.
Briefly lifting his mouth off of Jungkook’s dick Jimin wrapped his hands around the base of the shaft and began pumping Jungkook’s cock, his saliva making a great lubricant that allowed for his hands to move at a quick pace. Jungkook practically whined once Jimin switched to giving him a handjob, his voice sounding almost like he was singing with his high-pitched pleas for release and praise.
Not wanting to interrupt the flow, after a few more seconds Jimin once again connected his mouth back onto Jungkook’s tip, his tongue swirling over the reddening skin before completely covering the top half of Jungkook’s length while his hands worked on the base of the shaft.
From the breathless pants and incoherent words, it was clear Jungkook was close to his climax and with that in mind Jimin made sure to suck a bit harder, the sound of his mouth enveloping Jungkook’s cock echoed throughout the dark empty apartment and Jimin lavished at how beautifully Jungkook’s moans rang out into the air. It only took a few more good sucks until Jungkook’s strangled voice called out that he was about to cum.
Jimin didn’t let up though as the warning fell on deaf ears, he really wanted to taste Jungkook again and kept his mouth wrapped around the man before feeling a burst of heat coat his lips and tastebuds. Jimin relished in the feeling of Jungkook’s cum in his mouth, swallowing happily at the fact that he was able to help the bartender reach his orgasim relatively quickly after not giving any head for the past few months.
Once Jimin was sure Jungkook had come down from his high he removed his mouth with a ‘pop’ before sitting back up on the couch, his lips still tingling from the whole session.
“Wow… that was…” Jungkook looked dazed as he turned to face Jimin with his dilated eyes and agape mouth, “wow.”
Jimin chuckled at the man’s astonished expression, “they don’t call me the throat goat for nothing, y’know.”
That earned a hearty laugh from Jungkook who flung his head back on the couch, “you’re amazing… truly.”
Jimin felt his heart swell with warmth at Jungkook’s words. He wasn’t sure if he’d ever see the man again but right now that didn’t matter. Leaning closer to him Jimin felt their two lips collide and mold into one another, the kiss was heated and passionate and Jimin loved the feeling of Jungkook’s tongue fondling with his own.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to…” Jungkook’s words were muttered hurriedly before diving back into the kiss, his hands wrapping tightly around Jimin’s waist.
“No, I’m fine seriously. Pleasing you was hot enough. You look cute when you come, by the way.”
“Hopefully I can say the same to you one day.”
Jimin preened at Jungkook’s words. So he did want to see him again. Jimin wasn’t mad at the proposition and as the two continued their heated makeout session (while occasionally rewinding the movie before returning to kissing), he felt himself become excited for whatever his future held for him and was grateful for finding someone to help him bury his past.
