p.s. this is no shade but mclaren didn't do the one stop because they COULDN'T, not because they weren't smart enough strategically to think of it. both drivers ate their front left tire and could not keep going. they tried to ask oscar to do a one stop and he said no. the reason charles won is because he is talented, and because his team had faith he could keep the car on track with 38-lap-old tires because he has been so incredible managing his tires this year. he won because he didn't incur that degradation, because he chose very specific methodical paths to balance the car equally on both front wheels and to get the rear straight in the turns, bc bryan was brilliant and coached him through all of it. mclaren did not "hand him" the win with a mistake. he won because he is an incredible driver. i think we forget because mclaren has the best car that charles has always been far and above the pack in terms of talent, barring a couple drivers. he's not just some guy in an inferior car. he's il predestinato and he earned it

Oh they are so beautiful charles, So beautiful

You are so beautiful, you amazing amazing man.
every sky commentator: well we have this inside information but we shouldn't really talk about it so we'll be very vague and unhelpful
nico rosberg: i got an email offering a stake in alpine today. how much? i can't say. just kidding it was a billion euros. what else do you want to know?
Hey Prema,
You could do the most amazing thing now for the next season:
For F2 sign Dino and Paul
And
For Indy sign Logan
That’s all I’m asking for. I don’t even want Christmas presents if you do this 😅🙈
no matter what happened today, you:
are loved
deserve to eat
are needed & valued
should take care of yourself
have a future
will be okay
Why are people criticising Lando for being open about the mental and nervous pressures of F1.
Two days ago people were up in arms over the impact Logan’s dismissal will have on his mental health.
Last weekend the trophy was lauded for highlighting the struggles and sacrifices top athletes go through.
Not long ago we found out about what the pressure of F1 was silently doing to Valtteri.
Read Jenson and Mark Webber’s books. They couldn’t eat before races because they were scared it would make them overweight, meaning every race was hangry and at real danger of passing out.
Lewis has gone through phases of pushing everyone away, including his Dad, because he thought he needed that solitude to achieve a “champion’s mentality”.
Nico Rosberg walked away from the sport as he couldn’t face putting himself or his family through the sacrifices to be a champion and the personality changes it caused all over again.
People need to accept that this is a sport, it is tough and it leads the drivers to dark places.
Would you rather drivers be silent and not disturb your personal enjoyment of the sport or can you accept that they push themselves to places you couldn’t?
When I first started martial arts my teacher taught us, when things get tough your brain will tell you you can’t, because it wants the easiest most comfortable option. Your body can and will do what you ask of it, pushing past the mind is the hardest part.
Time to accept and support or shut up.
logan please announce your move indycar for the sake of my mental health
yup

I saw a clip of a podcast where they were talking about Adam Norris being in the garage and how it’s too much that the drivers have their dads around.
And I really don’t think people deep how much it means to a family to have a son in F1. If I spent millions - and it probably does end up being over a million if you pay for it yourself which I think the Norris family dad - and cumulatively years of my life travelling with my kid around Europe, for my son’s dream…I would never leave that garage.
Because at that point, it kind of is the parent’s success, too. You can’t ask them to live for the kid their whole childhood and then just let go…that was their life also for so many years. Why should they have to let go just when it finally gets good?

What is going on at the House of Commons (Williams Racing)
no one is in greater mourning than jenson button. trust me.

WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON JAMES ITS SO OVER FOR HIM
WILLIAMS I AM PLANNING YOUR DOWNFALL
We need to have a serious conversation about the commodification of professional athletes.
Logan Sargeant’s car went up in flames after a nasty crash — a crash that he is incredibly lucky to have walked away uninjured from.
You would think that’s a good thing, right? No one could possibly be upset — after all, cars are replaceable but people very much are not.
Except “fans” (and I hesitate to even call them such) on Twitter and Instagram seem to disagree. They value an upgraded chassis more than the human being driving it.
And this isn’t something new — we see it happen all the time in other sports when athletes get injured and “fans” are more upset about how it’ll impact their fantasy lineup or favorite team than the actual human being having to deal with everything. But just because it’s not new doesn’t make it any less disappointing to see.
Athletes are people, let’s treat them as such.
Thank goodness Logan made it out okay, he’s more important than the car he drives ❤️
Williams Racing has replaced Logan Sargeant with Franco Colapinto for the remainder of the 2024 season.
There’s so much I want to say but I truly don’t know how to gather my thoughts into words.
Williams rushed Logan out of F2 and into F1 prematurely. They gave him a seat, yes, but not the opportunity to succeed in it.
Logan waited weekends for upgrades his teammate had long since received. Logan had to drive in 2024 with parts from 2023 because of how unprepared the team was. Logan sat and watched from the sidelines as his car was given to his teammate. Logan returned the following race and drove the very same chassis his teammate crashed.
Logan did all of this with a smile.
Logan deserved so much better.
James Vowles has graced us with the following statement:

I do find it quite ironic that they “need to maximise every points-scoring opportunity in a remarkably tight midfield battle” after completely glossing over the fact that the driver who did in fact originally bring home points this past weekend was disqualified due to an illegal floor caused by team error.
And “investing in our young drivers in the Williams Racing Driver Academy” will only do so much if you shove those same drivers into a seat and leave them to fend for themselves when it matters.
I hope Logan knows how many of us love and support him. I hope Logan knows that I watched him drive in the junior series and there’s no doubt in my mind that he has the skills to succeed if given the opportunity. I hope Logan knows that I will keep cheering him on no matter where he decides to go next.
And as for Williams … I will keep supporting their drivers but I certainly will not be supporting a team who has tried to paint themselves as lovable underdogs but repeatedly shown their true colors throughout this past season.
I’m sure there’s something I forgot to add, but my heart hurts and my thoughts are a veritable mess.
But, no matter where Logan ends up landing, be that IndyCar or another series, I can’t wait for him to kick ass.
What the fuck is a kilometer 🦅

I NEED him
bitches be fangirlin over an mf named Iceman 💀💀💀
it's me i'm bitches
rip alexander the great you would've loved the teenage tumblr girls that obsess over patrochilles as much as you did

Seb and Nico should make some kind of podcast or show where they sit after every race weekend and discuss anything and everything. Results, rumors, teams, drivers, gossip, contracts and everything in between. Forget f1 media forget sky. I want these two Germans' unfiltered opinions on everything in this sport.
nico rosberg really is the best f1 commentator currently because not only does he actually know what he's talking about but he's not afraid to make bitchy little comments and wax poetic about lewis hamilton like what more do you want
me 99.9% of the time: well f1 is a tough sport, small pond big fish, full of snakes, it's kill or be killed, it's formula darwinism out there
me when kevin magnussen gets kicked out: okay but have you considered the vibes? the shenanigans? being a fun little guy? hard racing? he genuinely loves racing and knows a lot about racing and racing history? he did a keg stand with the nhl trophy stanley cup once isn't that the kind of energy the f1 party scene needs? hello?
shes a 10 but she answers her texts in 70 to 80 business days and sometimes never
No thoughts, only Hollywolf.
