if i had a nickel for every time a supposedly “devout” (but actually heretical) pc in calorum had a realisation about the nature of divinity itself, becoming the only people in the world to understand reality as they do, in the last moments before they are brutally slaughtered by members of the very church they pretended to serve, i’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?

"I'm starting to feel like no secret was worth this."

Page one: Quichéi peers into the mouth of a dark cave and says, "Wait a second," and sees a faint glowing light. He says to the Deli and Colin, "Who has the balls, huh?" and heads in. Deli says to Colin, "Colin. You said it before." Colin says, "I said we have balls, but is this balls?" Deli says, "Aren't you curious?" Colin replies, "I'm curious, but I'm not curious for what this group might do in there."
Page two: Deli looks to Colin and says, "What does that mean?" It cuts to a grayed out flashback, of Karna telling Deli, "Kill it." Deli stoically lifts his spear to stab the fungi creature as a disturbed Colon asks, "What are you doing?" In the present, Colin - spattered with the remains of Queen Pamelia - answers Deli, "I think you know what it means."
End Copied Alt Text.
i sometimes think about how kaveh's career as an architect also reflects his own character right back at him. when you look at a building, you only see the perfect final product, not the blood sweat and tears that went into creating the design, nor the countless hours of construction that went into making it a reality. it simply exists in the moment as itself. simultaneously, kaveh has crafted a perfect facade for himself. no one can see the suffering that he's had to endure to get to this point, to achieve this mask of absolute flawlessness, they only see him as the "light of Kshahrewar," the builder of the palace of alcazarzaray, one of the greatest students to ever graduate from the akademiya. they don't see his crippling debt, the fact that he became homeless to finish his magnum opus, or his alcoholic tendencies that developed as a coping mechanism. they too, much like the viewer of a great piece of art, only see the final product that perfectly hides ever flaw and blemish, every mistake from prying eyes.
