Since watching DRDT CH2 episode 9, I haven't been able to stop thinking about one tiny detail. The fact that Whit waits for a strangely long a time before confirming that Rose's secret is his and that his 'mother is dead.'

He plays it off by saying that he only just realised which one was his, which seems a little odd because, of course, most people would know which secret is theirs immediately. Plus, it seemed like an inane detail for the creators to add in for seemingly no reason (chekov's gun and all that), so I went back and watched the sequence again and noticed something interesting.

Whit only confirms his secret AFTER Hu says that she won't share who her secret belongs to, which just so happens to be the secret about self-harming for fun. I think Whit might be lying about his secret to save face, and if that's the case then there must be a lot more lying about secrets going on than we thought.

But that's just a theory of course. I could be entirely wrong
