If someone is criticizing Cats and they use the point of “it doesn’t have a plot” I refuse to try to hear them out

even IF munkustrap didn't flat out explain the musical's story there's still the grizabella plotline that can easily be understood by ANYONE no one likes the homeless smelly cat then she sings a song that everyone really likes homeless smelly cat is cool now :) and she gets to go to space how kind of old shaggy cat or the macavity plotline which while much shorter can still easily be understood evil cat??? goodness what could this mean??? oh no evil cat stole away old shaggy cat yay evil cat is fought off yay magic cat brought back old shaggy cat even without munkustrap's exposition dump cats still has a plot that can like be understood??????

i remember i saw someone talking about cats and they said that mungojerrie and rumpleteazer were annoying and they had the most obnoxious song in the show like ok mr “i can never ever have any correct opinions ever also i hate fun”

pearl as a steam engine (inspired by @green-planets’s rewrite of stex where she is the main character instead of rusty!!!)

(ok so fun fact: when pearl and rusty did that steam engine arm thing after they’re lover’s duet, i know it’s meant to represent how they finally are on equal ground, their souls are now in sync, but when i first saw that i thought that pearl was turning into a steam engine through the power of love or something HDHSHDHD)
