I’m imagining that Eddie is kind of submissive to his girlfriend on a day-to-day basis.

Like just normal everyday stuff, he’s subconsciously submitting to you.

✎ Whenever you both had to go somewhere together, you would be the one to drive, and he would be the one sitting in the passenger seat with your fingers somewhere twiddling at him.

✎ He would never admit this to anybody ever, but you were the one to take care of his hair/tell him how to take care of his hair. It was very frizzy and ragged at first, to be real. You told him what products to use and what brushes. You’d even told him he should braid his hair up after doing his hair routine, but he always wanted you to do it for him. You didn’t mind giving him two cute little twin braids, leaving his bangs out.

✎ He also preferred you to do them because whenever you would finish, you would gush over how cute they were and claimed he was just “the prettiest boy in the world.”

✎ You guys went to concerts a lot in the city. Whenever you’d go, you would be the one to guide him through the crowd. It was an odd dynamic because Eddie was taller than you, but he still let you do your thing.

✎ He would give your hand an extra hard little squeeze when you two were in public and he felt judgey eyes on you. I mean, he was a little freaky looking for Hawkins and you were a bigger woman of color. People were going to judge.

✎ You had to hold his hand in the first place so he wouldn’t put his hair into his mouth.

✎ Once, Eddie insisted you all do some fund raising for his club and their new members. He wanted costumes, apparently, and he knew he wasn’t particularly a friendly face. You, on the other hand, you could easily sale a boat in Arizona. So, there you both were in your kitchen baking muffins, brownies, cookies, and cupcakes. Now, Eddie was no chef, but he could definitely stir and lick the spoon for you. Whenever you would catch him with the spoon up to his mouth, he would abruptly put it down and offer you an innocent smile. You cut your eyes at him, quickly coming between his legs and removing the spoon from his hand. You would offer him a kiss, which he gladly took, and he would try to actually help you out in other ways.

✎ When you two would nap, he would always be on top of you. You thought it was because you were heavier than he was, but he assured he just liked feeling secure in your arms.

All and all, you made Eddie feel safe. He never had a stable foundation of safety in his childhood. He was tossed around back and forth between his parents and uncle most of his childhood, and he was bullied and bothered all his highschool career.

You came along and gave him exactly what he needed. He admired how confident you were in yourself and that you took the lead on things so naturally. You didn’t mind being that safe space for him, and he was so fucking happy you didn’t.

hi, this is carol and i wanted to create a fun blurb writing exercise a la @superblysubpar and @chechelia considering the current state of the eddie munson x reader fandom. i, personally, can barely stand the seemingly never ending infighting between writers and groups on here. whether it be writing style or characterization, it seems everyone sort of has a problem with everyone. (not me tho, i truly am vibing). in the words of monica and brandy 'you need to give it up, had about enough'. -- so instead of leaving, i wanted to try something fun, fresh, and cute to bring us together. we all have our own eddie munson head cannons that we hold near and dear to our hearts. but i think that's part of what's fun about fandom, there's a little something for everyone. so this exercise is a way for us to all be on the same playing field -- same prompt/dialogues we have to use. only written how your personally HC eddie, our og guy (no au versions pls). i loved how this manifested on cece's old blog because it was so fun to see what people came up with. below is the dialogue and prompt as well as the best way to participate. yes, if you are a steve girl you can participate lol. if you are someone who has me blocked and/or vice versa and would like to participate, please send your link to a friend so i can add it in an upcoming masterlist.
