I Still Find Myself
“I still find myself
pleading the universe
to take care of you.”

scrolling and help a girl out by sending me prompts! It just takes a few seconds!
I want to try to get back into writing (during this whole mess) and it’s hard getting back into the groove. Send a few words or... anything really; anything I could try to write poetry about, anything you’d want to see in poem form via my brain, anything.
Thanks!

Prompt: Most traumatic daydream
Thank you for sending one!
“Warmth of our skins melding
into puzzle pieces, limbs
lost in the jungle of entanglement,
breaths synchronized and heartbeats
fluttering out of rhythm, caresses
smooshing together run-on sentences
within our love language,
smiles marbling our faces--
Though I’m sitting here alone
and empty and missing you.”

“As time wears on
my mind wears down
to the studs and rotten insulation.
The fact is: I’ve been torturing myself
by takin’ a brutal sledgehammer to the
beautiful dwelling you’ve made for yourself,
but each dent I make, each split beam I shatter,
I never make headway in tearing you out.
At this point in time,
I’m on to closing you off, boarding you up--
quarantining your perfect world of a corner--
finally makin’ sure it’s you inside
looking out, and not me bashing in my head
trying to join you.”
