Bat-Mite is a member of a sentient species of the Chiroptera family presumably descended from bats. His species lives in a remote region of the Andes as yet unvisited by humans.
When Bat-Mite wandered into human civilization, he learned of Batman. Impressed by his prowess and his adventures, he became a major fan. Unfortunately he also became a major nuisance.
Members of his species are notorious for poor eyesight and rely on sonar to navigate and experience three dimensional space. To compensate, Bat-Mite wears prescription goggles.

Two-Face
Harvey Dent was a District Attorney before a quantum physics accident placed him a state of quantum supersuspension in which he is both a handsome attorney and a disfigured super-villain. When circumstances prompt him to make a decision he temporarily becomes one or the other depending his course of action.
Krypto has been Superman's furry companion since he was an infant on the planet Krypton. Although they are not as intelligent as humanoids, Kryptonian dogs can read minds, even if they cannot project their thoughts.
Krypto was paired with the infant Kal-el to mind him and keep him from harm, which was a common practice on Krypton, and was sent with Kal-el to Earth AI for that purpose.
Kryptonian dogs live hundreds of years, which explains how Krypto could have been a puppy when Kal was a baby and still be alive now that Superman is in his thirties.
The Black Orchid
Linda (Supergirl) Danvers dressed as the Black Orchid at a New Year’s Eve costume ball. When a band of thieves held the wealthy guests hostage for ransom, “the Black Orchid” knocked them off one at a time and freed the hostages.
From time to time Supergirl has used her Black Orchid identity to operate incognito when circumstances warrant.
Clark Kent is a star reporter of The Daily Planet, specializing in stories of the underdog and exposes of the ruling class for which he has won several Pulitzer prizes. He has published three thoughtful books of political commentary, and is a frequent talking head on cable news networks. Often kidded for his resemblance to Superman, he modestly shrugs and admits to being an avid weightlifter.
