The blonde softly roused from his heavily slumber, yawning and slowly rubbing at his eyes. He sat up and looked to his partner sleeping beside him. The orange-haired guy was still snoring away softly, undisturbed...with his headphones on...and they're not playing music. "Heh..." Beat smirked a little as he recalled the first time he found Neku with his 'phones on like that. When the skater interrogated him, he was told they double as ear muffs to "tone down [his] incredibly loud snoring." There had been several occasions in the past where his partner would complain about his snoring and each time, the skater would get glared at the rest of the morning (or evening). Stretching his arms high, Beat slinks out of bed and walks out to the patio of their apartment. He takes a deep breath, then leans forward against the railing, taking in the early hustle of the city. Even in a residential area, it seems like the place never really sleeps. There's always SOMETHING going on. But...Both of them don't really mind it. There's always something to do and easy to lose someone tailing you when you need a little solitude--if you know where to hide. Guess whose reasoning better fits who... Minutes come and go. Lost in his semi-mindless people watching. the blonde nearly jumps when he feels a firm slap to his ass. "Bwaa--!" He cuts off with a kiss when he tries to turn around. When Beat realizes Neku's his assailant, he calms instantly, smiling a bit into the kiss. "Hey." Neku pulls back to lean against the railing, crossing his arms afterward. "Yo. Mornin'" the skater leans back onto the railing. "...You could've at least put on some shorts before coming out here." "Huh?" Beat looks down at himself for a split second, confirming that the only article of clothing on him is his underwear. "Oh." He smirks then wiggles his hips a little. "If I did that, you wouldn't get a good sight!" "....Hehehehe..." Neku let out a small snicker. "Yeah, I guess you're right." Their light constant, and sometimes obscene, banter in the mornings always made them feel a little better and more ready to take on the countless challenges the world threw at them. ~~~~~~~

I regret only not having done this sooner...

A few weeks after the Game, Beat resolved to actually TRY once more, for his friends and family, but mainly for Rhyme, Neku, Shiki. The three would team up and spread out times to help Beat with his homework and studies. Tonight is Phones' turn and both have a test to take tomorrow. Both want to get as much cramming as possible to at least scrape a C (Beat) or B (Neku). Somewhere down the line, one passed out and the other quickly followed. Apparently, caffeine can only do but so much on the body...

Curious of his friend's board diversity, Neku dragged his friend out to snowboard. The five--Neku, Beat, Rhyme, Shike, Eri--only had a few days left of this week vacation, so no harm right? Being who they are, no trivial matter shall go without a competition. A race down the mountain it is! The skater ace's at skateboarding and surfing. Better add snowboarding to the list too...

Neku's Journal: - Fifteen minutes into this place and we're already overrun with noise and these "heartless" things. So much for the defense systems... - (A week and a half later) Damn Noise. Damn Heartless. Damn combination of the two. It's been a week and we still haven't found our way out of here. I haven't had time to take care of my problem either because of the noise and heartless or that loud ninja that seems to randomly appear... If we don't find a secluded area quick... FINALLY!! Beat's Journal: - I wonder what's up wit' Neku. He's been outta it since day two of this place. He won't talk to me 'bout it neither. I'm a 'lil worried. If we find a place to get alone, I'll just force it outta him. ~~~
