This is so important! The ace community has been so kind to me as I have been figuring out my sexuality and afterwards, and it is lovely that we get a week to celebrate that. Happy ace awareness week, everyone.

Hey it’s ace week and you’re local ace has something to say! I’ve been out as ace for 3 years now and it’s still a big part of my identity that I’m proud of so here’s a lil something for those who need it!

Announcement!

I’m very excited to say that I have set up my own small business!

I am only 16, but because of the plague I haven’t been able to get a job like some of my friends. The eventual idea is to make some items myself and then sell them, but to buy the ‘ingredients’ I need some money first! That’s why I’m selling a lot of bracelets we bought at the start of lockdown, but have never worn.

My thoughts 2: return of the tears

SPN 15x18 spoilers

Seriously, if people have managed to avoid spoilers, I will be impressed. Okay so I've thought about it a lot (and by that I mean cried, wrote a fic in my criminology lesson, and started inhaling new fics and ignoring my problems). I've calmed down a little. I think I'm going through the 5 stages of grief but nevermind.

So, the big question is: will Cas come back?

Misha said (a while back, I think) that he was proud of Cas' ending. If he was referring to his acting skills, then my God, Cas is never coming back because that man deserves an Oscar. But from a story point of view... it was a little bit disappointing.

Don't get me wrong in any way: I am ecstatic that Cas confessed his love, obviously. But it was a bit of a coward's way out for the writers. Make Destiel canon, to appease the people who have been literally begging for it for years, but not explictly say whether Dean reciprocates these feelings. I mean, I very much think he does, but it was slightly unclear - certainly enough for people to argue otherwise. That way, the homophobes or non-Destiel shippers can say "Dean clearly didn't like him back!1!" and be happy, while Cas gets an emotional confession and then immediately dies. No consequences for their actions. They don't have to do anything with it.

Honestly, I don't know whether Cas will come back or not, but here's a bit more of a pessimistic post arguing it out.

He’s instantly bombarded with questions by a Lilith-obsessed brother and a man who’s been dead for years, and must decide between keeping his finally-perfect life intact, and the lives he could save by re-writing history. Regardless of these choices, both Deans are trapped in the wrong decade, and their only way back lies with a Castiel still very much under Heaven’s thumb – one who might find the future Dean describes difficult to believe.

Notes: I do love a good time travel fic, and frankly, Dean still being pissy about Ruby made me laugh out loud.

Notes: I am fully aware I recced this really recently, but I did really enjoy it and there is an established relationship! I am starting a new rule where I will only rec things more than once if I rate them either 4 or 5 stars, but if I read a fic worse than that while specifically looking at a tag, then it will be in that post. Does that make sense? I think it does.

Notes: So cute! I love the letter Sam writes to the newspaper at the end, it was just so beautifully written and he seemed simultaneously so happy for them and so done. I’m not really sure it counts as an established relationship, but it is tagged that, so I’ll include it.

Cuckoo And Nest by komodobits on AO3. (10,190 words).

Description: For a long time, Castiel thought that every earthly possession other than the immediately necessary was excess to requirement. But Dean – Dean who named his car, who keeps a photograph of his mother in his wallet, some thirty-plus years after her death, who still has the crumpled ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign with a sleeping pelican emblazoned on it from the Microtel outside of Roanoke where he first kissed Castiel, clumsy and unsure, under the unsteady fluorescence of an exhausted bathroom bulb – is sentimental. It puzzles Castiel, where Dean draws the line between what is meaningful and what it is worthless.

Notes: Beautifully written, and I genuinely don’t know how they managed to make such a short fic that angsty. Maybe it’s just ‘cause Cas leaving the bunker almost made me cry. Hmm.

The Tea Is Decaf by mnwood on AO3. (3,673 words).

Notes: Does it matter that Eileen has only been in one episode I have seen? No. I will rec this fic until the day I die. I’m not even 100% why. I will tell you that it is pretty much the reason I screamed when I realised I finally met Eileen, though.
