Some jars I animated to be used as ident type things in a recent screening. The jars themselves were drawn by the talented and incredibly handsome Ariel Victor. I wanted to animate them straight ahead, but they needed to resolve themselves into Ariel's illustrations, so I animated them all backwards. It's a fun technique to play around with, "straight behind animation"- the end results are far from logical or naturalistic, but you still arrive at intrinsically satisfying movements.


There's actual photos somewhere in my Tumblr, but as this hyper-realistic self portrait demonstrates, your first guess was pretty spot on.

I'll take a guess and say December. Maybe a bit before, maybe a bit after. The most recent cut of the film is 4:26. A part of me wants to try and edit 6 seconds of it out, but that part of me is an idiot and should shut up.
