Underdog fulfilling the excalibur prophecy trope. Like someone who looks completely unassuming being the chosen one, and being very nonchalant about it. (Bonus points if the person is NOT the protagonist of the story)

Stingy, grumpy asshole who hates everything and everyone and a sunshine who comes along and literally makes them see what is good in the world (platonic or romantic, both are fucking amazing) (Edit: and not some of that fluffy bullshit where grumpy sees sunshine and softens up, i need that "grumpy sees sunshine and scoffs at them and sunshine takes it as a challenge of 'oh i WILL make you love me/everything'" good stuff)

Sunshine characters with like... a REALLY dark backstory. Like extremely dark. I just love it when happy-go-lucky characters received the worst of humanity growing up and chose to say fuck you to their abusers and their trauma and radiate joy and happiness instead.

When Person A has a crush on Person B, and AT LEAST Person A has powers, and someone harms Person B, and Person A fucking loses it and is inconsolable and goes berserk (think that one scene from ATLA where Katara is forced into quicksand and it puts Aand in auto-avatar state)

Honorable mention between 2 and 1: Ugly love, where Character A is so in love with Character B they offer to harm themselves in one way or another for Character B's wellbeing, it's REALLY tricky to nail which is why it's not my fave but I love it
