🎤 if u don't say nice things abt ur wife, i will cry
hello? 911? i'm being bullied/j
" oh, you're always spoiling us rotten, sanji. " she giggles, her smile growing as she nudges his arm with hers. she won't lie, though, she does enjoy it. she knows doing this is one of the ways he shows he cares and is thinking about them, and she appreciates it greatly! at least now she won't have to close her shop for a little while so she could have lunch, nor will she have to listen to the growling of her stomach until she can head home and have something to eat.
" only hectic enough to forget to make lunch for myself. maren had to go into work early so i was the one that had to drive aurora to school. i missed my alarm though and i nearly made her late! so i only had the time to pack lunch for her. " agatha explains with a sheepish smile, her hand coming up to rub her neck. it was fine, though, she didn't really mind waiting to eat until she got home, she's just glad she doesn't have to now. " have you eaten today, sanji? i'm more than happy to share this with you. "
"I know I didn't have to," he acknowledged with a laugh, "but I wanted to. What's the point of being a cook and having a restaurant a few streets away if I can't spoil the people I care about?"
Agatha and her family were the definition of darling, and it hardly felt right to not use his skills to make others happy.
The hug and kiss to his cheek send his hear into a purely joyful tizzy. This was why he loved to cook, why he loved to create. Knowing she would share the treats with her family made his heart skip, and he was glad for it.
"I had a feeling. Even if you had remembered, I would have brought this, anyway." Leftovers never hurt, and she could always save it for later. "Did you have a hectic morning?"
of course they could feel there was something different to her, something very different, but... it seems that she's still jane, too. she's still the same woman they fell in love with and planned out a life with. with whatever happened, though... is that still possible? can they still have that life? " you should know i would still love you no matter what, jane. i worried greatly while you were gone, but my feelings for you did not change. "
soryn holds her close, fingers curling into her shirt. no matter what, they're just glad she's here and that she's okay. " maybe... maybe you could explain to me why you left? please, i have been dying to know. " they doubt it's anything they did, but still, what happened while she was gone?

THE ONLY TIME SHE FELT GUILT. A small tug on her heartstrings that had broken & snapped since their absence in her life. [ Jane was the one that had left, it was her fault, but she missed Soryn deeply. ] Would they still love her now that she was a half demon? Her blood now held Satan's soul, & she was uncertain on how that would make the other feel. The moment she feels them embrace her, she closes her eyes & allows herself peace by basking in their warmth.
Her scarred arms wrapped around the taller demon, holding them close as a sigh leaves her. ❝ I'm sorry. ❞ Jane began. ❝ I should have been honest with you about why I left for a while. Everything was falling around me ... Only to become this. ❞
maren had the kitchen table covered with a silken runner, aurora helping with setting the plates and assisting her mother with cooking. god, maren was awful at cooking, but it was her wife's birthday, and she wished to surprise her with not only flowers, (store bought) cake and cat shapes jewelry, but with a large, nice dinner as well.
" happy birthday, my darling thrush. " maren would say with a warm expression on her features. the house smelled of cooked steak. a nice dinner for her most beloved, complemented with her favorite red wine.
she sighs softly when she parks her car, pulling her keys out of the ignition. unlocking the door, she's greeted by the salivating scent of steak and it's almost enough to lead her to the kitchen straight away, but first she hangs up her jacket and bag, placing her keys in the little candy dish by the door. when agatha sees her wife and daughter, she smiles and greets them with a hug and kiss. " oh, you two are always going out of your way for me on my birthday. " her smile grows and she reaches out, tussling aurora's hair. " bet your mama roped you into helping her cook, huh? " the faerie asks with a soft laugh, letting the two lead her into the dining room.
the scent is stronger here and, as if on cue, her stomach rumbles. (it probably doesn't help she forgot to have lunch.) " this all smells so good. " agatha says, sitting when maren pulls a chair out for her. " you two always make my birthdays even better. i love you both so much. " before aurora, before maren, she hardly celebrated at all. her birth, her existence was one she didn't see worthy of celebration, not even a small one. gods, she's come such a long way since then.
they chat about their day between bites of steak and steamed vegetables and sips of wine, recounting how work and school was. it all went well as it usually seems to these days. her features soften as she listens to her wife and daughter talk, enjoying their presence, their company, their voices. what a beautiful life this is. after dinner and before dessert, maren offers her the small but prettily wrapped gift of cat-shaped jewelry. a necklace and earrings to match. " oh, my darling, i love them! " agatha smiles, her eyes sparkling. she puts the necklace on and replaces the earrings she wore throughout the day with the ones maren has gifted her. " they're beautiful on me, i'm sure. " she says with a soft laugh, reaching out to cup maren's face, her thumb gently stroking her cheek. she gazes warmly at her. she wouldn't trade this for anything.
" as always, thank you both for an amazing birthday. "
