Hogoshamaru Week DAY ONE: Hogosha

I know there are some ppl who can’t stomach the OG series anymore, but listen…YH has retconned every single thing including it’s own story. There is no way anyone could take this shit seriously, so hopefully this lists makes y’all feel better about IY

All the Retcons/Changes/Inconsistencies:

1) Roothead died in the charity chap. after InuKag killed it with their combo attack, but it’s somehow alive in Yashahime (?)

Note: Inuyasha used wind scar in the chapter, but in the anime, he used meido zangetsuha 🤨

2) The movies weren’t written by Takahashi (so they’re not canon), yet Toga’s castle was shown in an episode of YH. Meaning, the story’s lore was based off a non-canon film

3) Moroha’s rouge

4) Tenseiga having a time limit

5) Zero and Kirinmaru existing prior to the original storyline, yet none of the OG characters know anything about them

6) The rainbow pearls and how stupid it makes all of the OG characters look, especially Naraku

7) Zero wanting to kill hanyou’s related to Toga, yet she didn’t bother Inuyasha despite having free access to him for 50 years

8) Rin and Sess having a connection to the sacred tree

9) Sesshomaru taking orders from Jaken

10) Sesshomaru being a pedo

11) Rin’s age being the same as Kohaku’s in the OG

12) The Inugang being OOC

13) MirSan not raising Moroha

14) Koga believing InuKag would get bodied by Sesshomaru

15) InuKag getting sealed by Sess, when Kagome was strong enough to break his armor and shock him with her spiritual powers (and this was prior to her miko training). Furthermore, IY surpassed Toga by the end of the series and was already keeping up with him (even before the story ended)

16) Kaede and MirSan not knowing about the twins despite being there when they were born

17) Moroha supposedly being in the same scene with Sota and Towa, even though she wasn’t there in season one

18) Kohaku not being able to recognize Moroha despite knowing the difference between a sealing arrow and a sacred arrow (both of which were used by Kagome and Kikyo)

19) Kohaku not knowing Setsuna was a hanyou despite being a demon slayer

20) Rin apparently being “18” from Jaken’s “if I recall,” despite the timeline being 18 years ago

21) Toga being able to use the meido, even though he couldn’t do it in the manga. This messes with Sess’s development, bc if Toga has mastery over that ability, then there was no reason for him to cast it off to make Tenseiga

22) Rin having scales in this new flashback, but she didn’t have those scales in season one. The tree is meant to slow down the curse, not stop it. Meaning, if she has the scales now (in S2), then they shouldn’t be gone (in S1) while she’s in the tree

23) Jaken being selfish enough to put the butterfly connection on a child, despite knowing that Setsuna was Sesshomaru’s daughter and claiming before that he’d protect her

24) Sesshomaru not caring for his kids and letting them burn in a forest fire (also abandoning them on the beach)

25) Sesshomaru letting his daughter (Rin) get cursed right after she gave birth, even though he could’ve placed her in that barrier with the kids

26) Towa being able to master her demon powers even though it took IY the whole show to become proficient with his abilities

27) Character rehashing. The characters that were dead in the OG are somehow all alive and back in the sequel

28) Time traveling…like…the well was sealed over, yet there’s now these random pearls and a rainbow corridor to match????

29) Sota not caring enough about Kagome to show Moroha her pictures

30) Koga selling Moroha off

31) Demons not caring about their kids and putting them through a rite of courage and cowardice

32) Shiori’s whitewashing

33) Kirara going missing in an episode (that was hilarious)

34) The black pearl only took 4 years to make

35) InuKag waiting years to have a kid

36) Sango being a stay at home mom for “ReaSoNs”

37) Tenseiga breaking (it restored itself in the manga)

38) Towa being able to use Sess’s blue dragon even though that was a Tokijin ability (which is not something she could inherit). Same for Moroha and the backlash wave

39) Hachi being there to retrieve Moroha, which was like???????? Huh?????

40) Where the fuck is shippo???????????

41) Towa supposedly cares about changing time, yet she forgot about that by episode 3 (bc Setsuna brought her violin to the past and Towa used her smart phone on multiple occasions)

42) Sota and his family not even asking about Kagome or being surprised that Moroha existed

43) Time traveling pinwheel???????????????????

44) Moroha somehow knowing what her parents look like even though she wasn’t there in that scene with Sota (which they’re going to retcon)

45) Moroha knowing her parents are alive, but not caring to look for them?????

46) The dream butterfly coming from the dream realm, which was never a thing in the original

47) New curses existing??????? Silver scale curse??????

48) Inconsistencies with the pearl powers and how they work

49) Zero wishing on the sacred jewel and making those pearls?????? Like…

50) InuGang being disgusted with the Koharu situation, yet they were somehow okay with Sess grooming Rin?????????

And the show itself isn’t even over yet. Let that sink in.

Please don’t feel like you can’t watch the original anymore bc of the sequel, bc as you can see with this list, YH has retconned every aspect of the OG including both the main characters and their own plot. Like, there’s absolutely nothing canon about this 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

I only edited Setsuna, and with Paint. It is a poor edition, but I think that the message is clear. If I can do this with a simple edition, then...

After years of abuse from Sesshomaru, Jaken is finally showing symptoms of brain damage.

Like for instance, when Zero cursed Rin and demanded the babies from Sesshomaru, rather than taking a moment to ponder over this trolley problem, Jaken quickly goes…

… before Rin stops him. I understand he must have grown to like Rin, but… its Sesshomaru’s daughters on the other track…

- Yeah, Jaken almost gave the twins away to Zero.

Then Rin faints and Jaken comes up with a plan to stick her in the tree.

- Jaken is the reason why Rin is in the tree.

You thought Sesshomaru said this line?

- Na..ah… Its Jaken again.

And no, InuKag weren’t the problem. Zero was tied to Rin and the problem was that Sesshomaru and Jaken thought that InuKag would kill Kirinmaru and Zero (mostly Jaken’s POV), even though Riku only mentioned about Kirinmaru to Kagome, but whatever.

So, rather than talking to his own family about this, Sesshomaru decided it would be a good idea to just seal them away for 14 years….

The same Inu gang at whose village he entrusted Rin to stay… who would never harm Rin… I… sigh

Anyways… 4 years later, Zero burns down the forest. Chaos everywhere.

Amidst blazing fire, we have Jaken taking his sweet time to talk to Rin.

- He lost Towa in the fire... He is like “tee hee, I lost a 4-year-old in this inferno but iZ OkAy, we got one spare”

TreeKyo appears and this guy goes…

- Yes, he blames TreeKyo for his carelessness.

So Jaken is freaking out because there are two scales on Rin instead of one, TreeKyo suggests him to “freeze Rin’s time” by using a butterfly chrysalis – or whatever sorcery that is.

She instructs -

One would think this would be Jaken's dilemma:

Naah..

- He just stuck it in a 4-year-old kid who knows nothing. He is responsible for Setsuna’s lost memories and insomnia.

I am guessing, meanwhile all this was happening, Sesshomaru was just standing there being the best Dad that he is. /s

Prolly thinking of the OG series when he had women to choose from.

All the old characters in this show have gone senile. They are so OOC. Sesshomaru is just a shell that is doing whatever.

Looks to me like Jaken's obsession to Sesshomaru is degrading to yandereness and this is all an elaborate plan to remove everyone else from Sesshomaru's life.
