I combined the last two days for Hogoshamaru Week and drew Sesshomaru catching up with an older Rin and Kohaku

So according to Sunrise...

All of Pedomaru and Rin's interaction in the anime is now 100% confirmed romantic building and foreshadowing.

Sunrise's Pedomaru fell in love with a 11 year old peasant girl he resurrected on a whim and traveled with for a year as a liege. This is now the canon they are officially endorsing.

There is no more room for shipper coping, no more room for "b-but he fell in love with her after she MATURED!11" or any other nonsense that clearly made no sense. There was no "gap" for Rin to grow up on her own and "come to her own conclusions". Pedomaru was always there, Rin was always adored him as her savior and through his advances, she was coerced into thinking that adoration was romantic love.

Sesshomaru, a "mentally 19 year old" demon who is thousands of years old acquired romantic feelings for an 11 year old Rin. He actively pursued her romantically for years until she was capable of sexual reproduction and gave him children, who he all but threw away for 14 years to prevent his loli wife from becoming a scaley.

This is the Sesshomaru Sunrise manufactured from their sick desires. This is the extent of what they were willing to do to pander to a subsection of people that saw an innocuous, platonic and open-ended bond between a man and a child and wanted them to fuck.

I want to say I'm in awe, but this is something me and other antis have been discussing for over a year now. But to see it laid out in a way nobody can dare deny it now is another level of disturbing.

I can't even say "I told you so" because in this case, it literally means "Sesshomaru was just a pedophile all along"

They Deserve Better Writing

I'm actually surprised that certain Sesshomaru shippers aren't more upset that he and Rin are treated so poorly by Sunrise. Rin is literally fridged, again. She didn't even hold the fucking CHILDREN SHE MADE. Once you give birth, you usually hold them right away as they clean up the mess, the person births the placenta, then someone cleans the baby and swaddles them so your arms can rest. All Sunrise did was say, "Yes officer, she's totally 18! See, we made Jaken say so!" And then shove her to the side to focus on... Whatever the fucking plot is. The whole thing is so poorly written the daughters don't even care she's missing. They don't even ask Sesshomaru "Hey, dude, wtf?" Their meeting with him in a fight with Kirinmaru, another meeting was another fight, then one dies... And he doesn't stick around after she's back. Nobody talks about anything with these kids. They have a formula so far, every few episodes it "reveals" something, but the girls aren't there to react or feel anything. It's just for the audience. Oof. How shitty is that though? Setsuna and Towa don't get to hear ANY of this, because they're trying to play it off as a mystery. Show one thing and tell another but keep the ACTUAL CHARACTERS, the daughters, in the dark. Clearly something is up but the girls are kept in the dark in a way that makes any emotional response left up to US. And the way it's written, it's hard to give a shit about these characters 99% of the time. Moroha is great, Setsuna has her moments and Towa can be cute but is still pretty flat for what she COULD be. Also, Rin can sit up a little for Sesshomaru, name the kids, is entirely awake and well, but they don't write a scene of her holding or interacting with them? I call bullshit. Sango got to hold her babies, so did Kagome, why not Rin?! Rin wasn't given time to build her character and personality in front of us. Also, how did Sesshomaru and her even become involved? Kikyo is his type of woman, according to Rumiko herself. All we see is Rin acting childish and not decked out like a Lord's Wife. She isn't even addressed as -sama by JAKEN. If she's only 18 that means she was dating him before that, it means he was courting an underage girl for some time. He's not a peer courting her, he watched her grow up! Yes, that's predatory behavior! And this is a show AIMED at young girls btw! Kagome left for 3 years and went back when she was 18. She graduated, like she wanted. She was given her mother's blessing. She became a Miko. She became a Miko that rivals Kikyo in power. She saved Japan at 15 years old (Rin doesn't need to do that but give her motivation at least, fuck. Some accomplishments or goals). In Other Words, or tl;dr Rin wasn't important enough to write about. She was a pump and dump for Sesshomaru AND the writers. That's how it looks with what they're giving us. Sesshomaru, the real one, would never do that if he actually cared about his wife. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY (and KNOWING about Kirinmaru wanting to kill hanyo) kept Rin safe for her sake or Sesshomaru's. Nobody fought for her. Nobody kept HER in a barrier. He didn't put a barrier around Kaede's house either. He didn't take the twins to Shiori right away, since she's older than Rin by this point. If 7 days after birth, Rin is walking around in an anemone flower field, why would she do that KNOWING someone was after the kids?! Likely after her?!?! He KNOWS people will be after his kids, why didn't he do more to prepare?!?!?!
