what is love if not entering into the cursed death arena again. knowing that the rules would not change for you this time. only one would emerge victorious. and it has to be them. they have to be the one who survives (cf, 51).

what is love if not running for your lover. weaponless. defenseless. to knock them to the ground. protecting their body with yours (cf, 88).

what is love if not sacrificing what little autonomy you have to ensure they will be protected (mj, 37) . to make sure that they survive a war that took no prisoners (mj, 312). 

and what is love if not pulling your lover out of the hellscape that makes up their broken mind. even if it's close to choosing suicide (mj, 267).

because what is love if not choosing your lover. over and over and over. over your own survival.
