Geralt comes clean to Jaskier one night that he feels as if their friendship and their traveling partnership is a little onesided, but because he's Geralt, he doesn't articulate this well enough to actually draw you to the correct damn conclusion. Jaskier assumes Geralt is dropping hints that Jaskier isn't doing enough. Geralt hunts and provides for them, and he does the contracts, and he does the cooking (Jaskier would set water on fire if he could) - Thus, Jaskier begins doing more in order to try and prove himself to Geralt. Geralt has finally admitted to Jaskier that he hasn't been doing enough. Jaskier made Geralt famous with one song, Jaskier barters their prices, Jaskier sings to earn them money every night, Jaskier holds his own in the fights he's unfortunately involved in, Jaskier takes care of camp while Geralt is away hunting, Jaskier massages Geralt, and cares for his hair- I mean, it's so much that Jaskier does for them, and Geralt feels he doesn't do enough. But Geralt has finally admitted that he's not doing enough to Jaskier, so now he has the motivation to do better! He just wishes it didn't keep seeming miraculously more and more difficult to keep up with Jaskier-

Prompt 101

Jaskier and Geralt are meandering as per usual when they overhear someone talking about an elf transport. Geralt doesn't want to draw attention to them, and they're no doubt outnumbered, but his bard is begging for them to do something, and thus do something they will. They creep up on the encampment and through a mixture of Jaskier being stealthy and playing dirty, and Geralt using brute force, a sword, and his signs, they manage to kill or at least down all the enemy men. Jaskier races ahead to the cages under tarps to release the elves, only to gasp in horror. Geralt immediately rushes to see what shocked his bard, only to stare in shock at what he finds when he also peeks under the tarp. It's all children. Only children. They range in age, but the eldest there is hardly eleven years old. They're far from home, and there's no parents in sight. Jaskier turns to look at Geralt with those damned eyes of his, and Geralt sighs. They count the children. Ninety nine in all. They have a caravan of ninety nine children following them. Jaskier stresses they must get to oxenfurt as soon as possible, for he has money stored away there that they can use to afford to feed the children until they find a forever home for them all. But there's still the journey. A tough one, but a one that must be done. And the more Geralt sees Jaskier handling the children, the more often Geralt gets this odd fuzzy feeling in his heart, as if he wants to start a family with this man. Give him a child he can keep, he can sing songs to, and tell stories to, and worry over, that they won't end up giving to an elf refuge at some point. The more Jaskier sees Geralt handling the children, the more Jaskier daydreams of his perfect life with Geralt. One where Geralt settles down, even for just days at a time. Where they have a home together, a life together, a family together, and Geralt loves him. Like that'd ever happen.

Prompt 97

Jaskier hums. All the time. It annoys Geralt at first, but then he starts realizing how useful it is. What song he hums tells you what Jaskier's feeling. He has a certain song he only hums when he's sad, a song he only hums when he's happy, a song he hums when he's impatient and antsy, a a song he hums when he's feeling nervous, a song he hums when he's tired, he has one for everything. Geralt's surprised he doesn't have a song to hum when he eats a meal he doesn't enjoy, but then one day Jaskier starts humming after they eat and fucking goddamn it he DOES have one, doesn't he?! He even has a song he hums whenever he thinks of Geralt. He'll start humming Toss a Coin whenever he thinks of him. Geralt loves whenever he hears Jaskier's happy humming and Toss a Coin start blending together.
