Hadeel (26) is trying to raise funds for her family to evacuate Gaza. They have been displaced several times already, and are currently stuck in Rafah.

With Hadeel is her three year old daughter, Almas, who has gone into shock since witnessing her father's death, and frequently wets herself from trauma; Najwa, her five y/o niece, who is now under Hadeel's care after becoming an orphan, following the deaths of both her mother and father; young Samira, who need special medical care for her eyes; Samira's father, Ibrahim, who needs an operation for a herniated disc and has trouble moving; Soraya, Hadeel's mother, who had to have her foot amputated as a result of their displacement and needs further operations to be able to walk.
Between all of them, her family numbers thirteen in total. She knows their current GFM goal is not enough to cover her expenses -> it will be closer to 100,000 euros for the entire family to evacuate, but right now, they desperately need food. They need medicine. They need diapers and basic necessities for the children. They need to raise the funds to get the children to safety.

I am Mahmoud's wife. Unfortunately, I wanted to inform you that my husband Mahmoud was injured in the head, which caused a skull fracture that descended onto the nerves of the brain and affected the nerves of speech, hearing, and sight.
Mahmoud's condition is very critical and he must go abroad for treatment. He was injured 3 days ago and underwent surgery to clean his head. The doctors are telling us that he needs to undergo a major operation to remove the shrapnel or fix it to the skull bone so that no nerves in the brain are cut off.

my hometown is completely gone from what pictures i can find of it, i have not heard from my family (including aunts, uncles, parents, one sibling, and a grandparent), and the infrastructure in the mountain communities is wiped out. i cannot stress how catastrophic this is, or how difficult it will be for these communities to build back. i am angry, and scared, and heartbroken by everything that's happened.
and our government is spending it's money to fund a genocide.

one thing probably missing from news coverage (idk I havenāt been able to look at news in days) is that the disaster is ongoing. my sisterās car was just totaled and she was very nearly killed by a falling branch while driving somewhere just to get cell service. weāre still under land slide warnings. any rain brings fresh hell. people are missing, people are trapped in their damages houses with dwindling or no supplies. entire sections highways, roads, entire towns are gone. i donāt mean flooded or damaged i mean swallowed whole. and we might be getting another storm soon. idk why Iām posting I guess I just feel the need to scream this into the void
This isnāt gonna be an educated take or anything itās just me bitching, but as someone from NC who has lived here my entire life and has personally witnessed my neighbors beg the government to update our old as fuck infrastructure with no acknowledgment or action in return, the fact that millions-billions are being sent to fuel genocide and personally jack off millionaires makes me sick.
My city lost power and luckily avoided the flooding, but there are entire towns like Asheville and Waynesville that are completely underwater. Or beautiful places like Chimney Rock that are gone. Washed away. Dams fit to burst and roads swept into the trees. Meanwhile this dumbass government focuses on all the wrong things and turns blind eyes to anything involving climate change. The southern east coast is already notoriously historically neglected and this is really a textbook example of that.

i cannot state just how deeply this disaster has affected everyone in wnc, places like chimney rock and swannanoa are GONE, others are still under feet of water, others still are completely inaccessible except by air because the roads washed away. hundreds of thousands are without power and water, and supplies are low.
appalachia was deeply, completely unprepared for the amount of destruction helene would cause. this is one of the poorest regions in america. please donāt look away. we need help now more than ever.

Many towns in the appalachians have been wiped out entirely and/or have been landlocked by landslides with no power or cell signal, and are only reachable by air. all roads to Asheville are blocked or gone entirely. Chimney Rock had much of it destroyed. Many places in the southeast other than the Carolina mountains, especially Florida, are facing much the same. it will take a long time to rebuild, especially the roads, but for now please considering sharing or donating to help people in need who are trapped or lost their homes and loved ones.

Hello everyone. This is the second drawing post I've made in hopes of helping my friend Firas and his loved ones. The first one was not spread much. Please, even if you really can't don@te, reblog and share this post. Firas is on a tight schedule right now ā he has been trying to raise enough money since mid-April. It is now late September. The deadline for his university fees could be as early as mid-October. This is his last chance to pay for his and his sister's university fees before it's too late and they are kicked out.
If you are new here, Firas (@firasmuhaisenn) and his sister, Nisreen, are 2nd-year medical students from Gaza currently studying in Egypt. Firas and his sister's upcoming university fees for the year cost $6000 USD in total. But Firas does not just have to deal with university fees ā he needs money to evacuate his family. 3 adults and 3 minors, which costs $22,500 USD, a very reachable goal! As his family is trapped in Gaza, he is also in charge of sending his family money so they can at least get food daily. Not to mention the money he must spend on rent and food for himself. Firas has no source of income due to being a refugee and must rely on the charity of strangers to ever hope to see his family again! Can you imagine the stress! Firas is only EIGHTEEN!!
Thus, due to both the upcoming deadline and the constant drain of money for basic needs, Firas needs to raise money at a fast pace. He and Nisreen must complete their dreams of becoming doctors, and Firas's family must be evacuated to safety. Anything you can chip in makes a difference! Together, every small contribution can snowball into something amazing.

one of my friends has been impacted by hurricane helene, and while their power is back on theyāve lost a week of work and all their groceries. theyāve been denied fema assistance as of right now because the system hasnāt updated quite yet and is auto-rejecting everybody.
theyāve set a goal on ko-fi for $500 to replace groceries and gas and lost wages. any surplus will be donated to local relief, as theyāve stated more than once.
