“What are you two up to?” Yoongi questions. 

With a raised eyebrow, he looks down at Jimin, whose head rests on his left shoulder. You and Jimin share a look, as you have been all night—the reason for Yoongi’s suspicions—before looking up at him at the same time.

“Nothing.”

Yoongi rolls his eyes. When it comes to you and Jimin, that’s less than likely. “You lying, kitten?”

You press a light kiss to the corner of his jaw, before getting up from the couch all together. “To you? Never.”

You’ve been watching your bunny attentively now, notes and worn out books placed aside at the mattress when you first noticed what he was doing.

The way he turned his free hand into a fist and rubbed his eyes every now and then, to how his expression turned blank, nose twitching and all with his ears pinned high at the top of his head, moments before they flop down again and his attention is back to one of the three bright screens forming a mid circle in his desk in front of him.

You got up on your feet quietly, head tilted slightly to the side - eyes never leaving his figure, when he turned to watch you worry your bottom lip under your teeth in a discontented manner. You reach your hand to brush his dark fringe out of the way to press the back of your hand against his forehead and then place it on his neck. Jungkook avert his gaze from you, a soft curse leaving his pink lips when the controller trembled in his hands because his character got shot, momentarily forgetting the urge to turn it off and cuddle with you in a nest in his bed - still his leg kicked lightly when the thought crossed his mind.

It all started with Jungkook and you.

It used to be like that. Just the two of you. There were a bunch of other kids, coming in and out. Nameless people you both have forgotten the names of from lack of thinking about them for so long. The only thing that has never wavered, that always mattered and would eternally remain unaffected, has been your friendship. This realization, Jungkook had it long ago. The pure childish thought bloomed and filled him with a sense of comfort and love he could not name nor decipher back then but has been feeling continuously to this day.

As a little boy, Jungkook didn’t have the greatest time in any of the schools he had intended. He was this small little thing, with the huge bunny teeth too big for the tiniest set of lips and those wide puppy eyes hidden under a constantly over-grown bowl cut. He was terribly shy and quiet. He wouldn’t say much and when he would, only whispers of soft-spoken words and overly-polite utterances would slip out. The other kids, the bigger ones especially, loved to give him shit for it all. He had been used to daily spits in his hair, scratches on his knees, and poisonous gifts hidden between the pages of his textbooks when he met you.
