i don't forget to eat, i just ignore being hungry because literally nothing is appetizing at that moment, and trying to eat something would just result in it being left unfinished and being thrown away
like ill just go "hm im hungry", think about what is available to eat, realize i dont want any of it, and then proceed to ignore it until the food seems appetizing enough
Maybe it's ARFID but eating food is such an exhausting experience. Not just because a limited diet means you get tired of eating the same stuff eventually, or that trying new things is a painful experience. But also the constant cycle of needing to fuel your body when you just don't want to. I know there are some people who are addicted to food, but I've got the total opposite problem. Dont get me wrong, there are some foods I love! But if I could go the rest of my life without hunger or needing food.. I'd probably do it.

People judge picky eaters a lot but, as a very picky eater, I’m endlessly frustrated by my limitations. When I vent about this, a lot of people respond with things as “just eat it, it might not be so bad” but I mean it when I say a lot of suggestions I have already tried.
I watch a lot of food videos and they all look so good, a lot of food smells amazing, but then I try it and the texture is a sensory nightmare and there’s too much flavour. I love being autistic but, if I was to change one thing, it would be that.

What people don't get about ARFID (medically restrictive picky eating if you're ableist) is how delicious things can look or smell and how you can crave something but know that it has some element that hits a sensory issue so intense that you would gag, choke, or vomit if you tried to eat it despite every part of you lusting for that thing
And we can make our own substitutions within those realms but people get real mean the moment you do food "wrong" in front of them. Publicly humiliating and starving children over this then mocking adults who never had their autism Cured and also now have complex PTSD surrounding food. Haha adult who can't eat a food group such a child
