ok so ever since 2018 i've been super interested in alton towers and i ended up making ocs and like.... they're not exciting as everyone else's and not too themed but that's kinda the point?? they're only loosely based off of the rides and their themes and i love talking about them so like... if that's something y'all would be interested in lmk. send in questions ab them or whatever, i'll be happy to answer :)

once again on I have salty opinions on things:

every fic that has a "Ianto has a cyber implant/Lisa was controlling Ianto" plotline fundamentally misunderstands the point of that episode. I don't like the idea that Ianto didn't have a choice in the matter, because that's not what that episode is telling us. this is about Ianto Jones' biggest flaw. it's entirely sympathetic - you're meant to understand! but the whole point of Cyberwoman, at least imo, is about Ianto loving deeply and beyond reason. that's what MAKES him Ianto. even after Lisa kills Doctor Tanizaki, even after she attempts to kill him, he is still convinced he can save her. he cannot believe otherwise, cannot understand that the team - Jack - genuinely want to help him.

I unironically love Cyberwoman for giving Ianto this character arc because he is wrong! he is wrong to do this, he is wrong to lie to the team. he got two people killed, but god you understand why. he loved her so much. and then you look at him later with the team and jack and realise he loves them just as much, enough to damn the world for them, because he hasnt learned a damn thing about using his head over his heart.

and Ianto is aware of this! he knows how destructive his love can be! he knows how dangerous it is to be loved by him! that's got to be terrifying! sometimes I think about him lying awake at night and, knowing what he would do for Lisa, he would wonder about what lengths he would go for Jack.

by taking that away from him, you're taking away one of the things that makes Ianto such a compelling character.
