today a fascist won an election for the first time since 1933. here, in germany.
i don't care if it's just one (out of 16) states. björn höcke is a fascist. a court decided not long ago that it's allowed to call him a nazi. bc he is one. not "far right" or "conservative" - he is a nazi.
here. in germany. and he just won an election.
it hasn't even been 100 years.
i am scared.

i made a guide for ppl

*me at 1am, on the verge of falling asleep*
My brain: hey
Me: what?
My brain: You know your bedroom door?
Me: yeah?
My brain: it’s not closed.
Me: yes it is
My brain: no it’s not
Me: it literally closes by itself.
My brain: what if it didn’t close this time?
Me: I double checked it like I always do
My brain: you imagined that.
Me: Nuh uh
My brain: youre thinking of when you closed it yesterday
Me: no I’m not
My brain: yes you are! Go check the door!
Me: …
Me: fine
*gets up and trudges of over to the door just to see that it’s already shut*
My brain: I got you so good
Hey, if you have half a minute and care about the LGTBQIA+ community in the EU, I'd suggest you take a look at this initiative to ban conversion therapies in the EU.
1 million people are required to sign, but there's barely 100k. The form takes less than a minute, it only requires your ID, name and surname.
Please, help spread the initiative so that it can reach the goal ASAP! If you're not from the EU and can't sign, at least reblog! Thanks in advance.

hey. You should love trans women more than you hate terfs. You should love trans men more than you hate radfems. You should love nonbinary people more than you hate conservatives. You should love intersex people more than you hate bio-essentialists.
That’s all

idk who he is but as a black person this got me hyped

This made me feel really happy ❤️
The societal pressure to conform with one's AGAB affects intersex and trans people in different ways.
For trans people, this means being pressured against changing their bodies.
For intersex people, this means being coerced and forced into changing their bodies.
This is why I fucking hate when trans people cite intersex surgeries on cis teens as an example of 'gender affirming surgeries' for minors being acceptable/good/beneficial. Those cis boys getting top surgery ARE intersex and they were absolutely pressured and shamed into agreeing to this. It is nowhere near the same situation as a 16/17yo trans boy who spent years vehemently advocating for themselves and asking to get their top surgery. Intersex people are pressured into surgeries and hormones because our bodies naturally make people in our lives uncomfortable. Intersex people are often operated on at much younger ages than trans people. There is no informed consent here, there's nobody telling intersex teens this isn't the only option. That has a MASSIVE fucking impact on the question of whether or not teens getting cosmetic procedures/hormones is ethical in this context.
When cis intersex teens get 'gender affirming care' most of the time it wasn't the child who sought it out. It was the world around them pushing it onto them. That's the crucial difference here.
I'm perfectly aware that people are admiring the new Deadpool movie mostly for Wade's interactions with Logan but does anyone want to pay some attention to the soundtracks from there?
Like holy fuck the entire movie literally consists of my favorite songs, such as "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis & The News, "You're The One That I Want" by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, and MADONNA'S "LIKE A PRAYER." The first two songs are my absolute all-time favorites, and should I mention that when I heard these in the movie i literally screamed?
And here's also one important thing about them all. Each one of the above-mentioned songs — that are clearly about love and stuff, I should point out — was chosen exactly for logan's and wade's interactions. They were chosen purposefully.
What is this, a heaven on earth?
when you think about it, logan and wade thought they were going to die together
being transfem is trying to take younger transfems and drag them kicking and screaming out of the tar pit until they learn to love themselves and stop being bitter over what they dont have

Marcelat Sakobi of Democratic Republic of Congo, at the end of the women’s round of 32 boxing match against Uzbekistan's Sitora Turdibekova, made a strong gesture to raise awareness of the ongoing genocide in the DR Congo by placing her hand in front of her mouth and pointing two fingers at her temple.

Is this a good time to return to my X-Men phase
Not that anybody asked, but I think it's important to understand how shame and guilt actually work before you try to use it for good.
It's a necessary emotion. There are reasons we have it. It makes everything so. much. worse. when you use it wrong.
Shame and guilt are DE-motivators. They are meant to stop behavior, not promote it. You cannot, ever, in any meaningful way, guilt someone into doing good. You can only shame them into not doing bad.
Let's say you're a parent and your kid is having issues.
Swearing in class? Shame could work. You want them to stop it. Keep it in proportion*, and it might help. *(KEEP IT IN PROPORTION!!!)
Not doing their homework? NO! STOP! NO NOT DO THAT! EVER! EVER! EVER! You want them to start to do their homework. Shaming them will have to opposite effect! You have demotivated them! They will double down on NOT doing it. Not because they are being oppositional, but because that's what shame does!
You can't guilt people into building better habits, being more successful, or getting more involved. That requires encouragement. You need to motivate for that stuff!
If you want it in a simple phrase:
You can shame someone out of being a bad person, but you can't shame them into being a good person.

Wade: YO I'l tell you what I want! What I really really want-
Wolverine from next to him on the pull-out couch: well then tell me what you want so I can go the fuck to sleep
