I didn’t know half cast was considered atleast on Google to be a derogatory term until this year and I’ve been using that to describe myself since who knows how long. I remember I searched that up and the first result was it’s a derogatory term. Maybe it’s an old one? Something to look into. I was taught it or like idk where I picked it up from but no one told me jackshit lol I don’t think anyone in my family meant harm though it was never treated like anything bad so It didn’t have any bad connotations to me, atleast at the time anyway. Only figuring this out this year is wild and I wasn’t really expecting anything negative either. Weird how shit is, knowing histories run though the whole background and history of it is probably shit, haunting and not positive

These two kids are Hamza (the oldest) and Qusai (the youngest).

Their mother shares this video and bids them goodbye. They were both killed by Israeli bombardment 5 days ago. She says:

[Two days before Hamza and Qusai were killed, hamza asked me: "mom, when we die, where will I go?" And I told him: "you will be a bird in heaven, my love." He said: "and Qusai?" "Just like you inshallah."

And indeed, two days later, he left and took his brother with him. It's like he was preparing me for saying goodbye to both of them. Heaven is more beautiful than any place on this Earth, habibi. We will meet and be reunited one day, me, your dad and you two].

Our kids don't deserve to die already thinking about what will happen to them, they don't deserve to die already terrified, anticipating their death because the world failed them and decided their lives mean nothing. We are not numbers. Remember their names and their stories.

I just want to reiterate. It's great that y'all are following Palestinians and indigenous people and reblogging from us and boosting our voices. But the goal isn't just to be spoonfed information. Educating yourself means you need to pick up a book from the many many reading lists put together for you by Palestinians and read articles from diverse sources. You need to be doing that. Please tell me you are doing that, too, not just reblogging from us and calling it a day.

We try to fact check and be thorough but we get tired too.
