The thing is, the rich get more tax cuts and generally pay less taxes. During the Trump era, the top 1% got to pay less taxes, even though they can afford to do so. Trump cut taxes for the top 1/10 of the top 1% of the population, which accounts for him, and his other billionaire/possibly millionaire friends. Additionally, the tax cuts aren’t even going to something that will benefit the bottom brackets- he added billions to the military budget, and he justifies it with “other countries are threatening us” when Trump was threatening first.
If the tax cuts aren’t necessarily “that bad”, where the taxes are going is. Why not universal healthcare? Raised minimum wage? The upper classes fund the GOP and push for more tax cuts for themselves so they can pay less money so they don’t have to pay as much and they can buy baseball teams, yachts, and private islands.
The rich should be paying more taxes because they can afford to lose more money, while the lower brackets can’t.
do you see what the problem is? the gop is literally giving tax cuts to the top 1% and not the people who actually need it, because the gop is funded by a bunch of fucking billionaires. since they’re such money-sucking leeches, they help the upper class and leave the bottom brackets to suffer under capitalism without even giving them a minimum wage of $15/hr because it may cause them to lose a little more money.
