Sick Jesse

Just something I randomly decided to write at 3 AM this morning...

“C’mon Jess, we have to leave in literally twenty minutes and if you’re not even out of bed I swear to god...” Beth sighed, knocking once again on her younger brother’s door. This is the third and final time she’s done so this morning, and if he doesn’t come out in five minutes, she’s leaving him on his own. She had to admit, she was a little concerned about leaving him to go to school by himself. Jesse tends to be a violent person and attracts a lot of attention from the bad people in their area. Bethany knocks once more, but much softer this time. “Jesse?”

She opens the door, and on the other side of the door was Jesse, still fast asleep. Bethany had initially thought Jesse was faking and just ignoring her, but it surprisingly seemed that he was actually still sleeping. She winced when she heard the door creak loudly. Apparently, that was enough to wake her brother.

Jesse sits up, rubbing his eyes with a closed fist. Now that he’s awake, Bethany was no longer concerned.

“Well well, look who’s back from the dead.” she chuckles, crossing her arms as she leaned against the doorframe. Jesse looks up from under his blonde fringe and groaned.

“Shut up Beth, ’m not in the mood,” he muttered, pulling the covers back over his head and collapsing back onto his pillow. The brunette could only groan at her brother’s laziness. Though it was weird that he didn’t reply with a more snarky remark. And she doesn’t think she’s ever seen Jesse this exhausted before either. She knows she should be concerned, but Bethany has classes starting soon, and her brother is not going to drag her down with him for terrible attendance.

“Get up you ass, we gotta go to school.” Bethany pushes herself off the doorframe and makes her way over to where Jesse was lying. After not getting another reply, she thought, “did this kid really go back to sleep?” So she tugs the blankets off her brother and lays her hand on his back to shake him, but stopped when she felt the heat radiating off of him.

That’s definitely not normal.

“Jess? Hey, wake up for a sec.” she instructed. She kept her hand on his upper back, taking a seat next to him. Jesse takes a deep breath in before shifting his eyes up to meet his sister’s. The pounding in his head was consistent, even in the darkness. Thank god for the lights not being on.

“ ‘the fuck are you waking me for…” he mumbled. His eyes were extremely heavy. God, why was he so tired? He didn’t even want to move. His body hurt and felt almost unresponsive to what his mind was telling it to do.

“How you feelin’ kid?” Bethany asked, starting to rub her hand up and down in what she hoped was a comforting gesture. She knows she’s going to be late for school, but school can suck it.

Right now, her little brother was practically unresponsive, and with her parents out at work, she’s the only one who can help him at the moment.

“ 'm really tired. ‘can’t get outta bed.” Bethany tries not to panic. She thinks she has an idea of what Jesse could be suffering from but does that require a hospital? Should she call her mom? No, she can deal with this herself. She’s just gotta call in sick for the both of them.

“Alright, does anything hurt? Head, stomach, throat…?” she listed. It took a minute to get a response, and although it was quiet, it was better than nothing.

“Ahh… god, my head. Hurts really bad.” he moaned, quick to entangle his hands into his hair. He curled in on himself more, and it was clear to Beth just how sick he was. Yeah, school’s a no no.

Bethany replaces Jesse’s hands with her own, beginning to massage his head softly. She thinks about how weird it is seeing Jesse be so openly vulnerable. She hasn’t seen him like this since he was around 8 or so.

She didn’t say much else until she heard Jesse’s soft snores. He must be getting congested because he normally doesn’t snore. Beth can easily see her little brother’s illness is only going to go downhill from there, but for right now, she’ll just try and see if sleeping would make him feel better.

She’ll ask who he could have possibly gotten mono from later

Another silly little Otayuri comic that came to mind while I was brushing my teeth lolol.  This time it’s older Otayuri :3 Redrew Mila from the ED haha.

Older Otayuri based on the lovely @istehlurvz‘s Adult!ice design.  I fell in love with them from the very beginning and have been meaning to draw some adult Yurio and Otabek.
