When I say “Quackity and Tommy are the two characters who should become leader of L’manburg and probably the only two I trust to efficiently run their nation without corruption.” that doesn’t mean “Niki, Fundy, and Tubbo (and anyone else who isn’t on the list but those three specifically) are below Tommy and Quackity in general and not strong/good enough”

The truth is that nobody can be trusted to lead and protect L’manburg more than Tommy and Quackity. And nobody deserves the position more either.

It was Tommyinnit who won the Independence War for L’manburg, giving away the thing that meant most to him for the sake of his country. Tommy was the one person who couldn’t and wouldn’t let his nation go. Tommyinnit is the reason their nation was founded. Because of everything he was willing to sacrifice for it. Other people fought in the war and I applaud them for what they’ve done. However there wasn’t a single person who matched what Tommy was willing to give for L’manburg. That is a fact.

It was Quackity who got up the courage to stand up against Wilbur’s corruption first. He was the only person who said something needed to change and ran against Will. Sure other people wound up running too- Fundy, Niki, Schlatt- but none of them were funning for the sake of their nation. Fundy ran because he had something to prove, Niki because…well Fundy needed a running mate, Schlatt for his own selfish desires. Quack was the first- and only person predating Wilbur’s decision to blow up L’manburg- to speak out against the corruption that is pretty obvious in hindsight. And he did it for the sake of his country. Nobody else in the election can say the same. That is a fact.

It was Tomminnit who spoke out when Wilbur gave up on L’manburg. Tommy was the one who insisted, beyond a shadow of the doubt, that their country was worth fighting for. He was the one who insisted continuously that they could not blow up L’manburg no matter what. That is something nobody else did for the longest time. Techno supported his decision, Dream supported his decision, even Tubbo, who agreed that this wasn’t the right choice, gave the command for Wilbur to press that button. Tommy was the one person in the entire world who so adamantly insisted that their nation needed to be fought for even if that meant going against the person he admired most in the world. That is a fact.

It was Quackity who walked out of Manburg in protest of Schlatt’s behavior. Quack is the only person in the history of the Smp who left Manburg of his own free will. Tommy, Tubbo, Niki, Wilbur? They were all exiled. All thrown out. Every single one of them had issues with Schlatt, but until Quack, nobody actually walked out. Nobody was willing and ready to tell their dictator to go fuck himself. Nobody spoke out as passionately against his actions this consistently and then followed it up with action, not only leaving, but planning to put an end to the injustices he was so against. That is a fact. 

I point this out, not to say Quackity and Tommy are somehow superior to those around them. Somehow stronger or kinder or smarter or anything else of the sort. Pointing this out is not an attack on the character of other characters like Niki, Fundy, or Tubbo.

However I feel like it would be disingenuous to pretend that anyone else has quite the same claim to L’manburg as these two do. They have consistently proved their unwavering loyalty to their nation, their strong morality (at least when it comes down to it on serious matters), their leadership skills, and their willingness to fight for their nation when nobody else will or when it puts them in danger. 

They aren’t necessarily better people than the other’s mentioned.

But i’ll be damned if they aren’t better leaders.

how in gods name did the dream smp, which is mostly improv, get so damn good? how are there so many juicy and painful parallels? how are there so many beautifully sad moments? i'm going to list my favorites bc i LOVE angst :)

-niki's private conversation with tommy where she says "it was so scary..." and tommy goes quiet and then suggests they should head back to the others
