the jjk brainrot: what if everything ends with Megumi having to kill Yuuji with that ultimate technique he has that would kill him as well-- that the entirety of jjk is building up to the one thing that should have happened in episode 1.

only that instead of Megumi blindly giving up his life, he has learned to value his own life as much as other's do - and he is willing to sacrifice the future he now wishes for himself in order to end Sukuna. that instead of Yuuji having doubts and regrets over everything he once deemed his fault, he finds solace in the experiences he has made - the friends he earned, the people he saved, even if he failed to save everyone in the past.

jjk has repeating themes and story cycles of the value of life and being alone in death. so the ultimate tragedy of these themes would be having to die after you recognize the value of your own life - that you deserve happiness even if you have made grave mistakes. but also the bitter-sweetness of being at peace knowing you will die together with the person you cherish more than anything. and that through your shared sacrifice, banishing the king of curses once and for all, you two are able to give everyone else a chance at happiness and a future of their own.

"You are... quite endearing, when you're half-asleep, I have to admit." Azul sighed out, looking on with fond eyes at the panther cuddled into his side.

It wasn't a usual sight - in fact, it was quite abnormal. The only reason that the two of them were in this position was because Yuujirou had volunteered to help out at the Lounge after hearing they were having some struggles with new hires from the Tweels, though he wasn't... the best, at it.

No, alright, that was an overstatement.

Yuujirou was absolutely terrible as a waiter. And as a chef. And even as a busser. He wasn't any good at anything, here. He clearly wasn't made for it.

At some point, Azul had to send him back to his office with an excuse of needing help sorting some contracts. Thankfully, that, he was at least okay at. The octo-mer knew it was kind of him to volunteer and appreciated that, truly, but he just... didn't know how to deal with him.

Surely, he could eventually be taught, but not right now. And certainly not in the middle of the rush they were in earlier.

"Mm?" The panther give a little chuff of interest, nuzzling his head into Azul's side as purrs started to rumble through his frame. "Warm..."

It's with a huffed out breath and warm cheeks that he smooths his hand over Yuujirou's head, running his fingers through his hair and smiling when he heard his purrs kick up louder.

Relaxing into the moment and how... comfortable, the scene made him feel, Azul starts lowly humming and watching as the hybrid drifted off fully.

If only he could stay like this forever...
