honestly it was pretty irresponsible of SM to just create SHINee and then expect us to cope with all that talent in one group?? like there was no need to do that??
gender
i’ve been thinking about it a lot recently and what it means to me personally. i’ve always identified as female but i’m starting to realise i have no idea what womanhood really means to me. i know that it isn’t because of some inherent biology, bc none of that has ever mattered to me. if anything i have no feelings whatsoever for my genitalia, good or bad and having my periods isn’t some celebration to me, it just pisses me off, so i’m glad when bc of rlly bad stress it just stops happening for a few months. i knew i was a girl as soon as i understood the concept of boys and girls and before i even had an inkling of what chromosomes were, i just knew.
but what is it that makes me a woman? what shared concept of womanhood connects me to other women? at one point i thought it was the idea of being oppressed by the patriarchy, but that’s such a negative way of seeing it. i like being a woman and i don’t want my idea of womanhood to be based on something i’m oppressed because of. it’s something wonderful and i think there’s a true joy you can find when you’re surrounded by other women, i just still don’t know what connects us all.
i don’t know what being a woman means to me yet, but i do know that it’s something i like and i’m still trying to figure out.
