wait hold on has anyone in this fandom read the series wings of fire because it just gave me an idea. in that series they also had a huge extremely powerful villain with the ability to kill and revive people and easily control them. but they couldn’t really (morally or physically) kill him. 

so what they did was they used some of his own magic to change him back into a small child with none of his memories. and then they gave him back to his mother, and she re-raised him as a decent person. (they also did this in star vs. the forces of evil with meteora if anyone’s watched that)

essentially do you see what im saying. instead of killing dream turn him back into a kid– or maybe an older teen– or maybe just erase his memories without changing age– and then hand him off to puffy. 

evil dream is killed, but dream still gets a chance to be a good person, and there’s a satisfying conclusion to puffy’s ‘help children’ arc that the other children are avoiding.

i don’t know how they would do this– maybe whatever’s up with ranboo has memory-erasing? i don’t know. it just seems like the best possible ending
