Winter Whumperland Day 4: The Grinch (Sedative)

Winter Whumperland Day 4: The Grinch (Sedative)

Fandom: Spider-verse

Warnings: Drugs and drug related jokes

Summary: Hobie is sitting in the clocktower, watching the city, when a young villain decides to ruin his fun.

Part two soon

Spider sense was helpful. Hobie sat at the top of the clock tower in his city just watching the people. Sure it wasn't peaceful but something about the way they crowded the street reassured him.

It had been a while since everything was so calm. Even if calm didn't mean the same thing in what seemed to be every other universe. Hobie looked at his watch for the time. Even though he was on the clock tower the face was well, under him.

Then it happened. As his spider sense went off, Hobie slipped on his mask before turning around to see the villain of the week. Before he could say anything, the villain had already started her attack.

The villain was around 5'6 with blonde hair that was in two messy buns. She had bright red eyes and an unnerving smile. Her clothes were mostly dark blue and blacks with her weapons in two thigh holsters and a knife in her long black shoes. She looked to be around his age.

Standing, Hobie made his way towards the girl. He wondered what made her this way for a moment before deciding to tire her up and ask. It wasn't worth it to turn her in if she could change. Not with his government and he'd hate to see someone so young die.

The villain grabbed her weapon to relieve a box. She grabbed a needle from the box and placed it in her palm.

Needles were never a good sign. Most of the time they were used as some scientific power up that was a real pain in the ass to deal with. But something seemed different this time.

After a moment, Hobie started to grow more anxious about the needle. He realized it couldn't have been for her or she would have used it already. That only left him.

As the girl grew closer Hobie tried to grab the needle from her hand. He missed her hand and she stabbed the needle into his skin. The clear liquid flowed into his body. Then she jumped back and threw the syringe.

"That's some dangerous litter now. Might wanna pick that up."

    "You're funny."

"What? There's a lot of junkies around here! Plus littering is a crime." Hobie tried to laugh off the incident. He smiled a little under his mask and took another swing at the villain.

Then he started to feel the drug. He didn't feel bad, just tired. Very tired. The world was thrown off balance. Everything felt somewhat foggy, like he hadn't slept for days. He needed to wrap this up.

The girl smiled. "Feel'n funny?" She giggled.

"Wouldn't you like to know." Hobie started to stumble over his feet. He felt his body give as he fell to the ground. He watched the villain walk towards him.

    "Nighty night."

    Then the world went black.

Whumptober Day 11: Captivity/"No One Will Find You."

Fandom: Miraculous Ladybug

Summary: Luka is captured by Monarch after he learned that he knows who Ladybug and Cat Noir are.

Luka had just been walking home when he saw him. Monarch stood in front of him, smiling. Fear struck into his heart as he took a few steps back. He turned around and started to run. The boy listened to the footsteps of his enemy growing closer.

Then Luka turned the corner into an alley. He jumped onto the fire escape. The later fell as he started to climb. Monarch slid into the alley and walked over to him, grabbing his ankle.

"Let me go!" He screamed. Luka kicked at him. His hands started to slip. "No, no" he said under his breath. He was pulled off of the fire escape and then the world went black.

When Luka woke up, the first thing he noticed was how dark it was. Then he saw the garden that had what appeared to be a coffin. Startled he jumped back. His back hit metal and for the first time he noticed the chains around his wrists.

Monarch stepped out of the shadows. He grinned.

"Why am I here!?" Luka yelled.

"I know you know Ladybug and Cat Noir's identities. I need them."

"I won't give them to you." Luka claimed himself. "They will come for me."

The villain chuckled. "No. Even if they do," he walked over to the boy. Monarch kneeled down and grabbed Luka's face. He forced him to look at him. "No one will ever find you." With full force, he pushed Luka's face off to the side, making him fall.

Luka pulled himself back into his legs. "I believe in Ladybug and Cat Noir! They will find me and they will stop you! You won't win this!"

"You'll crack and when you do, I win."

Panic set into Luka's heart. He tried to escape his chains, hurting his wrist. He looked back at Monarch. He was a looming and intimidated figure. "we'll have to see."

The villain chuckled and walked towards the kwami's.

    "Sass!" Luka yelled.

    "Luka? What happened?" He asked.

    "Kidnapped."

    "Are you okay?" Trixx asked.

    "I will be."

Luka watched as Monarch akumatised a poor unsuspecting victim. He yelled at him, not really trying to get him to stop but more so to see if he could be heard.

As time passed, Luka started to wonder. He knew they would look for him and he knew that it would take time. But now Monarch was hitting him. He was tired of Luka not talking, of resisting his attempts to akumatize him. The boy still wouldn't give.

Trying to stay positive when you feel like you're dying in some man's basement because you know your best friends are superheroes, proved itself to be difficult. Somewhere in Luka's mind, he knew he was angry with them. Maybe if they had avoided the blast from 'live your childhood dream' guy, he wouldn't be here.

But that didn't matter now. All that mattered was staying silent and alive. Monarch made that hard. He tried to sleep often. He has to watch as Julika was akumatised, worried about him. Not just her but his parents as well.

Time passed slowly. He wasn't sure how long he had been in the basement. Luka thought it would be cold. It was cool, the temperature having to sustain the plants. At least it smelled pleasant.

When the villain would hurt him that's what he focused on. The good. The people he was protecting. When Monarch came to the conclusion that Luka would't break, he started to leave him alone.

Then Ladybug and Cat Noir learned how to manage their powers better. They didn't have to worry about transforming back anymore. Monarch came over to Luka, angry.

Luka had been scared. He was scared of his capture and of the power he held. But not like this. The rage that the man held in his eyes alone made his skin crawl. "Things didn't go your way?" he said.

But he didn't get an answer. Instead he was kicked in the side. The force threw him back, the chains around his wrists pulled tight. It didn't take long before all Luka could feel was pain.

But in a way it was relieving. He felt so alone. He'd never felt that way before. After Monarch's temper tantrum Luka stayed laying on the floor. He tried to think of something good, he tried so hard to hold onto hope. But he couldn't.

A purple butterfly landed gently on his ring. "Hello Victim, I'll give you the power to escape your Capture. I return, you will give me Ladybug and Cat Noir's identities."

"No" Luka whispered softly. Every part of him tried to fight the akuma. He tried to get up but fell back to the floor. His body was too weak and mind hurt too much to stop him from winning.

Purple fog covered him for just a moment before he stood up. "Let me leave."

"Third identities."

"Marinette, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and A- Adrien, Agreste."

Monarch was silent before he snapped and Luka was released from his power. He just smiled as he walked away from the weeping child on the ground. Now to go find his son.

Whumptober Day 4: Shock/panic (Alt Prompt)

Fandom: The Dragon Prince

Summary: Callum gets shocked by Zym by accident after he was tortured by Finnegrin.

Callum was in pain. It hasn't been long since Finnegrin had tortured him. Parts of his skin were charged. He could feel his clothes rubbing against his burns. It hurt more than he thought it would, yet he would do it all again if he had to.

Zym sat closely against Ezren but kept looking back at Callum. He knew he was hiring and he wanted to help. The dragon stood and walked over to Callum. He put his head on his lap for a moment.

The mage rested a head on top of Zym's head. "Hey buddy."

Zym got in Callum's lap and laid down for a minute. He made him smile. Then Rayla touched him.

Zym jumped, startled. He lost control of his power for just a moment and administered a slight shock around his body to fight the unknown 'attack'.

Callum being under Zym, took the shock. He yelped and tried to move back. Suddenly he was no longer with his friends. Now he was back below the deck of the Sea Legs. Elmore was torturing him, leaving burns all over his body, making his cry with pain.

The electricity that ran through the boy's body carried pain wherever it could reach. It hurt so badly. He was helpless against Finnegrin and Elmore. The chains around Callum's wrist made the current flow into them harsher than the rest of his body.

Callum was hyperventilating. Ezren moved to his side quickly and tried to help him breathe. Zym moved to the other side of the boat. Bait, Soren, and Rayla all crowded around the mage. Ezren made them back up but grabbed Bait and placed him in Callum's arms.

Callum took Bait and held him closely. The comfort of the glow toad helped to keep him calm. Ezren talked to Callum, trying to calm him down. It was hard for the boy, not knowing why his brother had such a strong reaction to something that he normally didn't mind.

"Are you okay?" Soren asked. Callum looked up at him and tried to breathe slower. "Here, Ezren can I? The knife motioned towards Callum and Ezren moved. Soren started slowly breathing loudly. "What's one thing you can hear?"

It took a moment before Callum answered. "The- the sea."

    "Good. Something you see?"

    "You."

    Soren chuckled, "pick something else."

He taped the boat with his foot. "The boat?"

    Callum nodded.

    "Smell?"

    "Salt" he answered.

    "Taste?"

    "Salt."

Soren looked at the kid's split lip. "yeah, me too. Last one okay? One thing you feel."

    "Scared."

"Wrong kind but thank you for telling me."

    "Oh." Callum held up Bait.

    "Do you feel better?"

He paused for a moment before he spoke, "yeah." He looked past the others at Zym, "sorry buddy." Zym nodded and came over to him. He nuged his leg and laid at his feet.

    "What happened?" Rayla asked.

    "Finnegan."

    "Oh."

Callum looked at the worried looks on everyone's faces. Bait glew blue and Zym curled up tighter on Callum's feet. Now he'd have to tell the story he didn't want anyone to know. And to think it all started with an accident. What a shocker.

AI-less Whumptober Day 10: Mouth Stitched Shut (Alt Prompt 21)

Fandom: The Dragon Prince

Summary: Finnergrin gets tired of Callum trying to use magic to kill him, so he takes it into his own hands.

"Fulminis!" Callum shouted. He aimed the attack at Finnergrin. A strong hand grabbed his wrist and the lightning shot up towards the sky. Then the world went dark.

When Callum woke up he looked around. He was back under the deck of the Sea Legs. "Great" he mumbled.

Finnergrin removed his feet from his desk and started to walk over to him. "That was quite the show you put on." He pulled something out of his pocket. It was a small box with a gold trim. "As much as I would like to see that again, I think this will be for the better."

Callum fought against his chains as Finnergrin opened the box. Whatever was in it was clearly not a good thing. He was surprised when he pulled out a needle.

"What's that for?" Callum almost wanted to laugh but he knew he'd regret it if he did.

"This is a needle. In this box I have stitches. If you can't talk, you're no threat." Yep, not funny.

Callum tried to fight back. He pulled against his chains until his wrists burned. A crew member was instructed to come down to hold the mage in place.

Finnergrin kneeled on Callum's legs. He loomed over him. He took the needle and the crew member snapped his head into place. "please don't do this! I'll give you the spell!" Callum shook.

"The time for that has passed my boy. You reap what you sow." The boy tried to raise his legs. He tried to pull his body forward. When he ran out of options he tried to use magic.

Before he got the chance to open his mouth, Finnergrin had already grabbed his bottom lip and was about to make the first stitch.

The silver needle met with Callum's pail skin. It glided through his flesh. His eyes water both out of fear and pain.

He never stopped fighting. As the needle went through his skin, he kept trying to escape. Tears fell from his eyes but they never softened. Hate and anger and a hit of fear was the only story they told. He tried to open his mouth but Finnergrin moved his other hand to hold his jaw.

The stitches glided though his skin. They silenced him. Callum didn't like being silenced. It hurt sure but that would be temporary. This, this could be permanent. He had no intent of letting it be.

When Finnergrin finished the last stitch he chuckled. "I admire your determination. He grabbed a rag from his desk and dipped it in some water.

The mage noticed the taste of blood for the time. The only thing he could do was swallow it. Callum started to wonder what was next. He couldn't eat, he couldn't drink. At least not yet. He wouldn't let this be what took him down. He still needed to take down Aaravos, bring Rayla's parents back, and see Ezren grow up.

Finnergrin put the rage on Callum's face and held it there for a moment. He took it away and looked at the crewmate. "Take him to see his friends."

The crewmate unchained him from the poll and took him above deck. Callum stood angerly. His shoulders never dropped. His eyes were still filled with anger. Being angry felt easier than being scared.

    "Callum!" Ezren screamed.

"What did you do to him?!" Rayla yelled, trying to go to him.

"Are you okay?" Soren asked, trying to remain calm.

Callum nodded. When he tried to say he was fine, he felt the stitches tug. "What's happen'?" Velads asked.

"Callum's mouth has been sawn shut" Soren told him.

    "Well, that's a problem."

"No, it thought it was fine!" Rayla scowled.

Callum tried to stop them. Ezren saw and calmed them down. Mostly.

"It's going to be okay." Soren looked at the others. "He's going to be okay."

No one knew what to do. Finnergrin came back from below deck and smiled. "Like my hand work?"

"Why you little-" Rayla started before looking over at Ezren and chuckling nervously.

Callum tried to walk over to his family. He couldn't reach them. It was starting to get dark. If they didn't find a way out Aaravos would be released and everything they love would be thrown into chaos. But what could they do? They had to think fast. Time never seemed to be on their side.

Winter Whumperland Day 6: Jack Frost (Amnesia)

Fandom: Star Wars The Bad Batch

Summary: After a reg attacked Hunter, he finds he can't remember anything.

When Hunter woke up, he couldn't remember how he had gotten to this white room. He wasn't sure who these people around him were. He didn't remember anything.

"Hunter, you're awake!" The tallest  man yelled.

"Don't yell." The man that talked looked robotic.

Someone stood nearby. He looked worried but didn't say anything.

    "Who are you?" Hunter asked.

He watched the tallest man hold back tears. "I'm Wrecker, your brother. Do you not remember?"

A man with the glasses walked to the other man's side and put a hand in him. "Hunter hit his head extremely hard when he was attacked. Amnesia is not a surprising result."

The man in the corner spoke up, "I'm going to kill the mother fu-" he was interrupted by the man with glasses.

"That won't help." He sounded robotic, like his voice should belong to the cyborg standing by the tallest of the group. Still something was comforting about it.

"What's going on?" Hunter asked as he tried to sit up. He noticed how bright the lights were and laid back down for a minute. His head hurt. "What happened?"

"One of the regs hit you with the butt of their gun" hissed the gray hair man.

"Regs?" Hunter wasn't sure why that stood out the most. "What?"

"Let's introduce ourselves. I'm sure it's not very fun being surrounded by a bunch of people you don't know must be unpleasant. I'm Echo. I work with you."

"Alright." Hunter sat up this time. He looked around and shook his head. "Where are we?"

"This is the Kaminoan cloning facility. It is also our home. I am Tech, one of your technically millions of brothers."

"Don't break him" the gray hair man spoke.

"I'm Wrecker! I'm one of your brothers too!"

"Yeah I remember you saying that earlier." Hunter tried to make sense of the knowledge he had. He was a clone. That wasn't the most surprising part. What surprised him the most was how many clones existed. Why did they exist? What purpose had they been made for?

The others looked at the gray haired man, trying to get him to say something. When he didn't, Tech took over. "This is Crosshair. He is also a clone. We are your batch mates and work with you. Echo joined after being turned into that."

Hunter tried to look at Echo. "Okay." Slowing the group explained the war and how he was a sergeant in the army of the Galactic Republic. They explained some of their relationships with him and how they grew up together.

For a long time Hunter felt empty. These people around him had so many memories of him but he barely knew who they were. He watched them grieve over a man who he didn't know; over a man he had been.

It took time. Recovery always takes time. The clone that had caused the trauma to Hunter was never punished. The Kaminoans didn't have the time. Hunter grew strangely close to some regs, despite never liking them before.

The batch started to think he would never remember who he was before. But with never remembering, Hunter could forget the blood and death he had seen before. He could forget all the ways the regs had done them wrong and he was growing a relationship with some of them. He seemed happy.

Then he remembered. Slowly, Hunter had been getting back little memories. Small things like short memories from when he had been younger. But one day he just knew who he had been before.

It had been months. The memories were overpowering. Hunter felt confused and lost. He felt both frozen and on fire. The memories of who he once was seemed like a distant lifetime ago. He remembered he had liked red more then blue and how he hadn't liked lemonade, even though he loved it now.

It was strange. It felt like he was a completely different person now. Hunter liked talking to the regs, or at least most of them. He had known a life that wasn't on a battle field, even if he was preparing for war. His biggest problem had been the regs and not the droids on the other side of the war.

The first thing the man did was tell Echo. He had grown closer to him then before. Soon he told the others. They seemed overjoyed to have their Hunter back but Hunter wasn't so sure. He still liked lemonade and the color blue more than orange juice and red. He still wanted to be friends with the regs he was around.

As time moved on, Hunter got used to being himself again. He felt more confused then anything. At first he wasn't sure that he wanted his memories back. All the death and destruction his two eyes had seen was overwhelming. But he got used to it.

Hunter finally felt normal again. After months and months of not knowing who he was and not know what to do with who he had been, he grew to like the person he was now but also who he had been. He liked knowing about his brothers and who they had been. He learned to cherish his memories. After all, nothing is permanent.

Winter Whumperland Day 3: George Bailey (We've lost everything we've had!"

Fandom: Star Wars The Bad Batch

Summary: After the events of season two, Echo talks to Phee on Pabu

Phee hadn't expected to only see three people get off the Marauder. In fact she didn't expect to see the Marauder so soon. It was too soon.

"Where's Brown eyes and the kid?" She asked.

Wrecker tried to answer but looked like he might cry. Echo stood in front of her but Hunter bet him to it. "Techs gone and Omega was taken."

"Gone? Taken? What?" Phee hadn't expected that. She was unsure of what to say now.

"He's dead. Empire took her." Echo spoke. He looked down and realized she had probably already known what that meant.

"Do you know anything about where she could have been taken?" Phee tried to stay calm. She had really liked Tech. Actually she had liked him a lot. Now he was gone, without so much as a warning.

"No." Hunter walked passed her and to a set of stairs. "I'll be back."

Wrecker walked over to Echo and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Me too. I'm going to find Shep, fill him in." Then he walked away.

Echo just stood there with Phee. He wasn't sure what to do anymore.

"It's going to be okay." Phee tried to assure him.

"We've lost everything we've had! We've lost our home, our purpose, our brothers, our employer! It doesn't seem like it's going to be 'okay'!" Echo started to pace a little.

"You have each other."

"Really? Because I'm pretty sure Tech's in the bottom of a ravine, Omega and Crosshair are who knows where, and Hunter and Wrecker have gone off on their own too! That doesn't seem like we have each other!"

Phee took a step back, stunned. "Don't you have your rebel friend? Or anyone else? Maybe some you knew from before?" She tried.

"Rex is too busy. The rest are dead, they are all dead. I told you, we've lost everything." Echo stopped and stood in front of her. He tried to keep tears from falling down his face. "I've lost everything but them. I can't-" his voice broke, "I can't lose them too."

"Oh honey." Phee moved and hung Echo. "You won't. We'll find her okay? Reach out to your friend, Rex right? Call him. Even if you just talk to him. It might help."

"Maybe you're right." Echo raised his scomp up and commed Rex. He spoke with him for a while before he started to feel better. Rex told him he would be there to help find Omega and Crosshair and that he was sorry about Tech.

The cyborg walked back up to Phee when he was done. She had made herself a cup of Tech's favorite tea and had sat in the chair by the beach he had called his.

"You know, you're not the only one who has lost something."

Echo hadn't expected to hear her say that. He stood beside her as she started to talk.

"Why do you think I'm here? I love this place but I didn't always have a place here. I didn't lose my family exactly the same way, at least not all of them. I thought that Tech was finally getting the hint but, I guess we'll never know." Echo looked down before looking back at her.

"I know. I'm sorry. I just- there's only so much you can deal with before you have to tell someone. I shouldn't have blown up at you I just, can't do another death." Echo sat beside the chair, ignoring the one he could have sat in on the other side of Phee.

"I understand, just try to be calmer next time?"

"Hopefully there won't be a next time."

Phee smiled softly, "your right. Let's hope. Now we should probably find the other two parts of you."
