so fun fact where i come from pet names are used for everyone all the time no exceptions. I call EVERYONE “hun” unless they specifically ask me not too and even then it takes actual effort for me to break the habit (I might slip up every now and then but i catch myself and do try really hard) my coworker calls everyone “boo” and my mom calls everyone sweetie. its just something that was always very normal to me. so when I began chatting with someone NOT from my home it kinda threw him for a loop. he thought i was flirting with him and i though we where just ya know chatting (tone doesn't always travel well through text) any way that got me thinking. how would the RFA react to an MC that does the same thing.

so without further ado.

jumin

- surprised and confused why would you do that you don’t know them they aren’t your “hun” he doesn’t get it

- then he notices the pattern hun = anyone; child = admonishing a friend; love/darling = him and only him; sweetie = warning; ect...

- treats every pet name like a puzzle to figure out why that specific one at that specific time

- eventually he will know more about the pet names you choose than you do

- might write down his findings

- will definitely try out every different pet name on you to find your favorite

yoosung

- shook at first, why is his pre-girlfriend calling zen “hun”?

- but then you call jaehee saeyoung and even jumin hun too and he’s so confused

- is high key jealous for the first few weeks until you explain it’s a habit from your family it doesn’t mean anything

- will still get insecure from time to time

- he talks (whines) to zen about it one night until zen points out you call everyone “hun” but you only call yoosung “love” and “puppy” so he does technically have his own private pet names

- after that he starts to finally chill and will get all bubbly and happy when you call him by HIS pet names

saeyoung

- he may joke around a lot but observation and intelligence is his job. he’s quite literally a pro.

- so of course he knows right away that not all pet names are created equal and isn’t fazed at all by your casual use of them

- when the others mention it or tease you he doubles down and starts calling everyone WAY over the top pet names yoosung = baby cakes, jumin= daddy han, zen= angle face, jaehee = mamacita

- but when you use a brand new one for him and him alone he panics he’s not sure he’s ready for that level of intimacy

- cue him freaking out in the chat room while everyone is like “she uses pet names for everyone you ain’t special” but he his and we all know it

- once everything’s settled he’ll make fun of your pet names a bit (only he’s allowed to tease you about them) but he’ll still blush when you call him love and boo

zen

- look this man is the king of pet names BUT he’s also possessive af so when he hears you call jumin of all people “honey bun” he see’s red

- he doesn’t even register the slight pity and condescension in your tone as he scowls at jumin and protectively pulls you tightly against him

- you don’t even skip a beat before telling zen about the fact that you just learned jumin special orders his striped shirts to have parallel stripes on the collar rather than perpendicular ones

- then it clicks. the tone of your voice the look in your eyes. but most of all the fact that he had never, NEVER heard you use the pet name “honey bun” before tonight.

- it was not quite as complimentary a term as he had thought

- once he understands he gets that all pet names are not created equal he is so on board the pet names train

- he takes a lot of pride in being the only one you call love and prince charming

jaehee

- she’s so formal at first she doesn’t even realize your talking to her

- it also makes actually dating her a bit more difficult because she just assumes the compliments and special pet names are just how you treat everyone

- it never occurs to her that it could be romantic until you actually physically kiss her

- that’s when she asks and you have to laugh “didn’t you suspect something when I started calling you angel? or love?”

- “you use pet names for everyone” “maybe so but no one else has ever been my angel!” you laugh

- now she’s blushing so hard it hurts and re-evaluating EVERY SINGLE INTERACTION you two have ever had

his focus is on making sure you don’t feel like your missing out on anything so there’s no way he settles for just a birthday party or just a valentine’s day date. solution? he does both at once!

- he did some research and sent you too the best spa in the city for the morning

- just when your thinking that was the whole gift (and it was an amazing gift) the spa brings you a new dress and does your makeup and he shows up to take you to the party he planned

- he throws a freaking ball. like cinderella style ball EVERYONE will know your name and be invited to your valentines birthday party

- he still gives you ALL those gifts but now other people are also involved and lord help it’s so over the top

- you’ll have to tell him tomorrow that next year you want something small and intimate but this year you’ll indulge him and let him basically turn you into a princess

- when you ask him why he went SO overboard he explains that he had heard you tell jae her that having your birthday on valentines tended to be a bit disappointing since boyfriends tended to only ever do the bare minimum for either one or the other

- so of course he wanted to make up for every past disappointment you’d ever endured

- you can’t stop laughing as you hug him tightly

- honestly Jumin is so amazing and well meaning even when he goes a bit overboard

yoosung

honestly his celebration focuses more on your birthday than valentine’s day. but he still manages to make the valentines part special

- he wants to do everything he can but money is tight so gifts are a bit difficult

- that being said he saves up and gets you something big even if it’s just one thing he wants you to love it!

- the rest he hand makes! this baby goes all out in his own way. he makes you breakfast in bed and he even makes you some really fancy coffee he learned about when he tried out the coffee club

- he’s stayed up late and gotten you a ton of super rare lolol items for your character

- even though he’s so happy you two are dating he says he’s even more excited for your birthday because

- “even if we weren’t together the fact that you where born makes the world so much brighter”

- he planned a little surprise birthday party for you. just an intimate thing with the RFA. but jaehee helped him make a cake!

- it isn’t until all the festivities are over and you and yoosung are alone when he give you his valentines gift (since he already gave you the birthday gift) it’s a little coupon book of cute couple things

- it’s dorky and cute and just so yoosung that you can’t help it you have to kiss his entire face

saeyoung

remember that scavenger hunt from his valentine’s DLC? think that but more gifts.

- he warned EVERYONE about your birthday like a month in advance so they can get you a gift and plan there mini celebration for you when you meet them on the scavenger hunt

- then the day of he makes sure they each get a little birthday cupcake to give you along with the scavenger hunt gift they each have a candle to blow out so you can get multiple wishes!

- at the end it’s just you and him dancing under the stars to the music he’s playing from his car stereo and he admits he thought about organizing a big party but he was selfish and wanted you all to himself

- he says he’s sorry and tells you that he and jumin have a part planned for tomorrow and you reassure him that today was perfect.

- you don’t need a big party as long as your with him your happy. he buries his head in your hair and laughs a bit asking how he got so lucky to have you

- you move to kiss his cheek and say “I was just thinking the same thing”

- the party the next day was super fun jaehee made a cake and you got to beat yoosung and saeyoung at just dance twice! jumin tells you all about his latest occult book while saeyoung attempts to put white cat ears on zen without him noticing.

zen

separates them! one day is NOT enough time to do everything he has planned so instead he decides you two will celebrate valentines a couple of days late because your birthday comes first!

- on your birthday he’ll get jaehee to take you out for a “girls day” while he and yoosung decorate his apartment for the birthday party

- saeyoung and jumin are out gathering things for the party. cake, snacks, drinks, noise makers and confetti poppers, ya know the works

- he saved a ton to get you a couple of nice gifts and each one has its own unique card that he writes in to tell you how much he love you

- he works really hard and doesn’t fight with jumin at all (praise him he’s trying so hard to make the day perfect)

- then exactly one week later he sets you up the perfect valentines date.

- just you and him spending time together he buys you chocolates and you two go on a karaoke date (idk man i just like the idea of singing duets with zen)

- the rest of the evening mostly follows the valentines dlc he sets up rose petals and chocolates in the bedroom and you two simply enjoy each others company ;)

jaehee

she doesn’t throw you a party per se but her attention to detail is what really makes it so amazing. it’s honestly a perfect mix of both celebrations.

- she hand makes you a heart shaped birthday cake that says “happy birthday sweetheart”

- it’s a piñata cake filled with m&ms that say things like “i love you” and “be mine” she put a LOT of work into it clearly

- then she takes you to see a special valentines screening of one of zens musicals she leans her head on your shoulder while watching and mumbles

- “I think there was a reason you where born on valentine’s day.” she doesn’t clarify beyond that almost like she hadn’t meant to say it at all but you still smiled

- you two may or may not sneak out of the theater before zen notices you so it can stay just the two of you

- as you two walk homes she pulls your gift out of her purse it’s a little passbook of gift cards to various restaurants and cafes around the city that you’ve mentioned wanting to try

- she blushed as she explains she thought about what to get you for a long time and she thought maybe thus could count as both a birthday gift and a valentines gift since it lets you eat at all the places you’ve been putting off because of working at the cafe AND if you want they could also be dates

- depending on how long you’ve been dating she might blush and mumble the very last part

saeran

no matter what this boy tries to say. he is the softest boi and that shows when he celebrates valentine’s day with you.

- THE RETURN OF RAY!!!

- brings you breakfast in bed with a little vase of fresh picked flowers

- sadly admits he’s not exactly sure what your supposed to do to celebrate your SO’s birthday ESPECIALLY when it’s on valentine’s day

- give this boy a kiss because he deserves it when you say you just want to spend time with him he tries (and fails) not to blush so much he gets dizzy

- you and he have a picnic in the park and he explains the meanings of all the flowers he even explains the meaning behind the flowers he gave you that morning

- it’s no surprise that they all mean love, joy, and gratitude. he’s so thankful he met you and that you loved him enough to stay with him you’ve brought so much joy to his life it’s no wonder he picked those

- you two spend the whole morning just doing romantic stuff together until saeyoung calls and says he has to see both of you ASAP!

- you two rush back to the bunker and find a surprise party waiting for you

- saeyoung and the RFA planned it without telling saeran since he was so nervous about doing something wrong he had asked for advice from everyone and they had all said “just spend the morning with her”

- so when everyone jumped out saeran nearly had a heart attack and it took a minute to calm him down (much to everyone’s chagrin)

8. You can feel what your soulmate is feeling (and vise versa). oooh i love the potential of this one >:) and if there was a world where soulmates existed, i think id want it to be either this or the ‘what u write appears on their skin’ lmao

* “Jumin is a heartless monster”, women cry after being rejected by him, gossiping amongst themselves  at parties, their glossed lips dripping lipstick-tinted venom

* “He’s a robot”, people who work in C&R whisper to each other, their hearts stilling whenever they see Jumin Han walk down the hall, not sparing a glance their way.

* Even Jaehee, the one who spends the most time by his side, frequently looks to him with a frown, wondering to herself if he’s even human.

* Yet Jumin...Jumin’s as human as can be.

* It started when he’d first started working for his fathers company, when he was still learning the ropes, the thin line of his lips a facade more than anything, years of practice moulding him into the perfect statue, his emotions boiling just beneath the surface.

* He’d been shadowing his father in a meeting, learning how to handle fussy clients and spoiled buisness-owners, when he felt his chest grow heavy, a feeling far too familiar overtaking him...only it was to an extent he’d never known before, his eyes glossy, a familiar sting as he furiously rubbed at them, willing it all to stop, just stop-not now, not here-

* His dad was the first to notice, startled at his sons’ sudden outburst-it was the first time he’d seen Jumin cry, the sight unfamiliar to him. Yet he loved his son-he’d never let him cry as he carried on buisness per usual.

* Mr. Han took Jumin out of the room and back into his office, offering him tissues and a glass of water as he continued to sob, mumbling curses as he begged the tears to stop.

* It took a while as he quieted down, the feeling mellowing down, Jumin feeling more drained and confused than ever before-what was that? Of course he’s felt upset before, far too many times to count in fact, but he’d never had such an outburst, and in that specific moment-there was nothing for him to be so upset over--

* “That must’ve been your soulmate” his dad offered, sitting across of Jumin, snapping him out of his trance.

* Jumin looked to his dad, dark eyes still glassy, reddened. “My...what?”

* His dad sighed, explained it all to him-how some people happen to have soulmates, how they can feel one another’s emotions if they’re extreme enough-it’s not every little thing, but extreme joy or pain or sadness-they could share these feelings, would feel them until they were replaced with something else, or until their soulmate felt something different, overpowering.

* Jumin let this new info mull over in his mind, spending the next few days with this sinking feeling in his chest-the tears didn’t come like before but he could still feel the sting, how his eyes felt heavy, and he knew, knew his soulmate must be laying awake at night, tears quietly falling down their cheeks-and that made his heart hurt even worse than this shared pain, the thought of being unable to comfort them, knowing they felt like this-

* He knows all too well what it’s like to feel this loss, this pain, to have no one to rely on. He knows what it’s like to go back into an empty home, have no one to share your pain with, to paint a semblance of normalcy in front of the ones you care about so as to not worry them.

* So Jumin decided. If a feeling that can overpower this is what’s needed for his soulmate to stop feeling pain, then he’d seek it out. He’d find joy like no other, for his soulmate’s sake.

* Yet...as hard as he tried, he couldn’t find it. He’d poured his soul into projects he thought could bring him joy, but he felt nothing, except perhaps a small sense of accomplishment, and fatigue. He spent countless hours watching cute cat videos, going through everything the Red Youtube Button had to recommend, but whilst he enjoyed them, he didn’t know if this is what it’s like to be overhwelmed.

* He eventually asked Rika about it-but she simply shook her head. “I do have a surprise for you” she admitted to him, “but I don’t know if it’ll be enough to make you that overjoyed.”

* The surprise came in the form of Elizabeth the 3d-and Jumin felt it, a warm happiness, a protectiveness towards the four-legged fluffy being, but was it enough for his soulmate to feel it? Judging by the pain in his chest...no, no it wasn’t.

* And then he lost Rika. 

* He knew his soulmate must feel it, the way his chest turned hollow, how his fists shook whenever anyone so much as mentioned her name, how he bit his cheek until it bled to keep from screaming, crying, breaking every fragile object in his way-to know how she died, what she’d done-to know how much of a wreck his only friend in the world was, and how he was unable to help him...

* Jumin stopped trying to find the joy he initially seeked, knowing it couldn’t be done. This, this empty feeling, paired with his soulmate’s pain-this was all he’d been left with. All he could ever feel.

* But as fate would have it, a mysterious figure soon entered his beloved RFA app...and his world turned less and less bleak, a genuine smile on his lips every time he’d see their name on his notifications, quick to enter the chatroom to talk with them.

* He could feel his soulmate’s pain soothing along with his, uncertain if it was his doing or their own-yet something brimed in him, a new-found warmth, so foreign yet welcome, the clenching of his stomach at the mere sight of their profile picture, at the sound of their voice on the phone-what was this feeling? 

* And...what was this guilt accompanying it? Why did he think of his soulmate every time he talked with MC, his joy turning thick and sour like spoilt milk?

* That all soon changed on the fateful day that his bodyguard came to him, a day after he locked up Elizabeth the 3d, the sight of her prison churning his gut something unpleasant, mentioning that ‘an MC is here to see you’-all thoughts of guilt flew out the window, replaced with-was it fear? Anxiety? Excitement?

* He wasn’t sure, not until he heard their footsteps as they approached him, saw their face up close-felt his heart scream out in joy, as if begging to climb out his chest to go nestle inbetween MC’s ribs, to make a home in them.

* “Ah” he hummed, smiling down at them “I see...I understand now” he walked up to them, brought a hand to their cheek, gently cradling them in his palm.

* “Welcome home” he said-and he could finally put a name on this confusion, on the fluttering of his chest, the frantic rhythm of his pulse.

teach this man to embrace his inner child and he will love you forever. no one will believe that he plays with you like he does but that sly sneakiness is like half the fun!

- absolutely fell for your childlike wonder and innocence

- constantly asking questions about what your doing and why since he didn’t have a very normal childhood

- TEACH THIS MAN TO PLAY THE FLOOR IS LAVA

- seriously sit him down and have a very serious talk with him because he WILL play with you if you ask him too but you have to explain the rules

- when you splash around he works really hard to keep a straight face he may even have a little frown but i guarantee it’s a cover

- because when nobody’s looking when no one will see he kicks some of the water. splashing your already soaked shoes and socks with a sly smirk

yoosung

he is so down for your more playful childish side! he’s such a happy sunshine child that you two become the cutest “children at heart” couple ever!

- this boy will happily play any game you want it’s one of his favorite things to do with you!

- he gets pouty if he looses too much sometimes a kiss consolation prize is necessary

- he won’t join the puddle splashing right away because he can get embarrassed pretty easy

- but with a bit of encouragement you and he will jump from puddle to puddle down the street

- okay but you both get rain boots and raincoats and go puddle stomping and frog rescuing no frogs jump into the road on ya’lls watch

- imagine you and him ferrying hat-fulls of frog across the street so they can get where they wanna go without getting run over

also 110% ready to play with you! he might even beat you to the punch when it comes to games and puddle jumping plus you two become the prank king and queen!

- last time you yelled the floor is lava saeyoung broke a lamp by leaping onto the table with reckless abandon

- when it rains its a race to see who can claim the most puddle stomps and last time you only win by 2 puddles! (that’s way to close for comfort training is a must!)

- you and he probably catch a cold from all the time playing in the rain without rain gear but it’s okay because you get to spend a couple of days recovering together while saeran and robocat taking care of both of you

- but pranks with saeyoung are easily your favorite especially ones where no one gets hurt! (cue releasing 367 rubber ducks into the public pool to watch the kids have fun and the lifeguards try to round them up)

- and you and saeyoung creating cat robots that follow zen around (no actual fur to trigger his allergies but it’s funny to watch him think himself into sneezing fits)

zen

he thinks it’s super cute and loves watching you have fun! he legitimately fell in love with you BECAUSE you still see all the good, fun, wonder in the world! your basically the repunzel to his flynn rider!

- if you scream the floor is lava he hefts you off the floor and into his arms saying “I’d burn for you any day” (cue the blush and hiding your face in his chest cuz dang it you weren’t prepaired!)

- he is always ready to be the prince to your princess if you wanna play out disney movies

- they always turn into photo shoots and you can’t bring yourself to complain because now you have a pic of you and him as Aladdin and jasmin

- he isn’t averse to puddle splashing but you better be carful because zen manages to pull of that sexy rain soaked look that’s super distracting

- imagine the downpour of a century your phone playing “singing in the rain” you and zen doing that dance splashing thing

- suddenly you lock eyes and he looks so good smiling and laughing all soaked like that but his eyes go a bit cloudy and his faces flushed

- it’s at this moment you remember your white shirt that’s now soaked and very see through

jaehee

she’s an old soul, calm and comforting so your youthful energy and playful spirit balance her out really well

- at first she simply chuckles at your games and antics but slowly she’ll start to play along

- it starts small. her humming along as you sing and dance to your music in the kitchen

- and gets bigger slowly her tilting the umbrella to spill water on you after your puddle jumping splashed her

- imagine her making you hot chocolate with whip cream and rainbow sprinkles as you dry your hair after playing in the rain sneaking up behind her still in your wet clothes and hugging her from behind

- she’s startled but laughs and spays a little whip cream on you nose as revenge you burrow your face in the crook of her neck getting the whip cream all over her

- after all your playing around the hot chocolate is more like cold chocolate and both of you are exhausted and ready for a hot bath

saeran

confused but happy! he’s so down to learn all the fun games you play because your so happy and sweet. restore this babies childhood and love him forever!

- he will not understand most of your games at first since he’s always had >.> a strict upbringing to say the least

- when he doesn’t get it he’ll be a bit gruff but given time and understanding he’ll open up and love your games though you may be the only one he lets see it

- like everything else when he see’s you splash in puddles the first time he’s confused until you pull him by the hand to splash with you

- he’s watching your face mesmerized by your laugh as you jump from one puddle to another he can’t help but chuckle until you slip and crash into the water beneath you

- but your still laughing and you pull him down with you hugging him to your chest and soaking him with the rainwater too

- now he’s with relief that your okay and happiness that he gets to share this moment with you

- he may never be as boisterous or excitable as you or his brother but his soft joy and gentle intimacy is perfect in your eyes especially since he really only shares it with you
